WOOOO! I didn't read that last bit!

Time you started a new thread Mrs Mogg! The title of this one makes no sense now.

Well done on getting back to the gym I love the sound of your Cam, hard to believe that you were doubtful of him to begin with.

Glad the 30th went well, and pleased that the SIL is mending, she sounds great. God I would hate to be in a wheel chair, poor her.

Ooh, job interview...good luck.

Getting REALLY desperate for photos!

A Wedding recap-

The final days were incredibly frantic for us and I spent a lot of time in hysterical tears trying to get things done. Dave rallied marvellously and took over all planning and delegation and suddenly became Napoleon or something and saved the day... This is SO good to know as I am great at all the initial stuff and fall apart at the end, he does nothing till the last minute then saves the day - this works so well!

We had a bit of anxiety about what would happen with the ceremony as our Lady of Awesome broke her ankle badly the night before the wedding - we canned all the decorating that she was to do, eliminated some aspects of the party and feverishly reworked the ceremony to covers all possible scenarios.

The morning was intensely business like - I had a hair do and then had to come home to prep the house and yard - Dave was doing house prep and cleaning too. Johan (my FIL) came over to help but was very happy relaxed and chatty whereas Dave and I were both frantically busy - we got a bit miffed (and I cracked it properly) when an array of other guests started turning up at our place throughout the morning to chat , expecting us to stop what we were doing, make coffee and talk to them. I think I was terribly rude but they REALLY set us back in time. I didn't mind the LoA's family coming by - the flowergirls wanted to show me their outfits and get their bouquets which I had made. They were super cute.

Eventually we had done all we could, there was a stack left undone and that is just how it would be, Dave got dressed and headed down to the venue for the ceremony. I got dressed and girlied up with my remaining bridesmaid (who had been a trouper and worked like a galley slave all morning)... Our outfits were pretty full on. In fact with just the two of us and no real context it was a bit like the Carny was in town... Our confidence bolstered by each feeling the other looked marginally more silly we scored a lift to the ceremony with her husband who politely did not laugh out loud. We drew many long stares and the attention of small children as we made our way to the meeting place.

Where I waited for 15 minutes as I am apparently the first bride in history to be early. Thanks heavens for comfy ninja boots eh?
The celebrant assembled out wedding party and sent over my dad who burst into tears when he saw me. (old sook) and we were ready to go. The procession included two flower girls, my lady of awesome in her wheelchair, her husband pushing her along, my bridesmaid, and me and dad. We were a motley assortment!

Hilariously we discovered somethings on our walk.... no-one had explained to the flower girls which path to follow, so the processional was punctuated by shouted directions. My dress collected leaves, twigs etc giving my a long rattly train of forest bits and pieces so I was in fits of giggles the whole time... my camel toed boots got caught in my hem at one point so I was hop-lurching till I got dad to unhook me. We couldn't hear the music at all and everyone was racing in a bunch - suddenly we got close enough to hear and had AGES to go so we started hissing "slow down!!!" - somehow it all worked out but I confess I didn't have a spare thought for the groom as I was pretty occupied!

Our ceremony was beautiful. Perfect. We had so many compliments on it afterwards and people were crying a lot. I spent most of it looking shyly at the ground (when not grinning like a monkey) Dave said he spent the entirely time staring at me.

He did his reading and was so nervous! But people still loved it.

Our handfasting was lovely - Cath couldn't do it from the wheelchair so her daughter Molly actually draped the cord, then we shuffled over to Cath and she handfasted us.

People loved our vows and laughed at one point in them, both times. I managed not to cry even through my reading.

My ring didn't go on properly as it is a triple rolling band and has to be stacked right to roll. So it was sort of jammed onto my knuckle. I really wanted to fix it but didn't think it was appropriate to immediately take it off again. Dave's went on perfectly - when we were proclaimed husband and wife we could not stop grinning. The first kiss was a disaster ( terror makes your mouth DRY) but fun and lovely too. We signed the registry and were presented as Dave and Mog van Golstein Brouwers. hehehehehe I am a mrs!

Then it was all congratulations and hugs and photos - we managed to get back to our place before most of the crowd and started setting up the food for the BBQ. (Most of which I was too hyper to do properly so STACKS never even got put out). It was a great family BBQ party. Hardly anything was eaten though which disappointed me. People mostly left around 9 or 10 (after which I changed into jeans and a t-shirt as did Dave) and we had some hardcore friends hang out till 1am. We had a great time and our faces ached from laughing and smiling so much.

Thank you!

I was there with you just then. How is it that although we have never met, I feel we are really, truly friends? I feel I know you both so well. I loved sharing in your wedding day. You deserve all the happiness in the world. X

Aww Mog! I loved reading about your wedding day.

A smile crept across my face my face when I read about " my dress collected leaves, twigs etc giving my a long rattly train of forest bits and pieces so I was in fits of giggles the whole time... my camel toed boots got caught in my hem at one point so I was hop-lurching till I got dad to unhook me...." I am sure the people at work think I am concealing some sort of inside joke, as I sit here in front of the computer smiling and giggling.

As for your kindling interest in children ...*shhh* hush, now! lol we need Moggy in bikini shape before any such transaction transpires! Girl, I have been working my tail off trying to get into shape. I have been eating nothing but eggs, veggies and PB! Join me!! We must, we must, we must decrease our...?? waist?

Good on ya getting back to the gym and letting Cam kick your mighty fine booty! I am so proud of you, not missing a beat after the honeymoon. You're a good girl, Moggy!

Much Love!

WooHoo! I get visitors! It s seriously nice to have people I can think of as real friends even though we have never met face to face

And I agree I need a new journal, but I wanted to finish this off with the pictures before abandoning it... I'll start a new one for Friday's gym session.

Heheheheh don't worry the next blog title won't be Mog is getting preggers! - I think it is just a reaction to not having a big 'project' to plan... and maybe a little biological clock tick-age too. I wouldn't say that I am gung-ho to have a baby, merely that I am less likely to casually backhand small children out of my way now. Though for me this is radical enough.

Mrs. Mog! You are a vision of wedded bliss!

Your dress and sash are absolutely beautiful and just perfect for you! Those boots!! Where do I get some?? I dont recall, did you buy those off ebay? I do so love clothing and accessories that are unusual, funky and vintage!! My wardrobe is full of vintage tees, slouchy jeans and funky scarves. Those shoes would look wicked with my wardrobe...I am coveting~~

With all due respect, your husband is a fine slice! I love what he is wearing. He has super cool shoes too. Love the squared toe. My husband would wear that trench coat in a second. It is UBER

Your wedding bouquet looks like the one had for my wedding. The colors set off your dress and your coloring so nicely. So lovely!!!

Thank you for sharing your special day with us. We you!~

Boots were customised in those colors but the funkiness that is inherent is just how they are - ayyawear.com - they are the spiral tabi. I won't lie they are not cheap but they ARE the coolest things ever to tread the face of the earth and super comfy too.

The leather coat was also a custom jobby from ravenswoodleather.com lots and LOTS of drool worthy leather goods there.

Congrats again Mrs Mog and thanks for sharing your day with us. I love those boots. They are perfect for that dress.

I love your motley crew and I was also laughing at the assortment of foliage being caught up in your dress. Too perfect.

OK folks I am starting a new journal thread located here...
I am also gratuitously ending this journal with honeymoon photos to make people gasp with envy....

Dave - the quintessential travel writer...

Mog looking short in a giant tree...

Mog on a beach

Mog in a palm forest

Mog snorkelling in about 6 inches of water being nibbled by GIANT FISH!!

Mog frolicing on the beach gathering shells

Mog is oddly dainty when descending mountains...

Mog contemplating the blueness of the ocean...

The view over my shoulder at that point....

A nice little climb...

A nice little (ropes assisted) climb.... go on guess what we are climbing...

Pretty close now, just need to get up there....

The view from there... which alas I could not enjoy due to the all consuming terror of plunging to my death whilst on my honey moon!!! Dave said it was the most scared he had ever been in his life - he actually said to me once we were there "Don't you DARE fall over the edge!!!"

The little inlet on the right hand side... that is where I had been sitting contemplating the ocean a few hours before hand...

We had a lot of fun!

Another stunning view of the same honking big lump of rock after we climbed down the other side....

During the nine hour hike we often commented that it was so wonderful that I was able to do it. A year ago I wouldn't have enjoyed the beach, and couldn't have cycled around the island, or climbed that trail at all. My knees were in agony the next day but the rest of me coped pretty well!

Speechless!

Well not really, cos I never am. That is just such a beautiful island, what a wonderful choice. Glad it wasn't Samoa...

You are amazing to have done that 9 hour hike, good for you young lady, (and the intrepid Dave).

By the way those specs are outrageous. I want them!
