No MoRe SwEeTs fOr ThIs SwEeT***Part 2***

w.o.w.
I never really left this site, but I did change ovet to WW for awhile with some success...but not enough...The good news:
I am now a senior in nursing school and I have 2 semesters to go, after this summer semester...YAY! now the bad news:
I have gained back approx 26 lb
This past Monday, June 8, I re-dedicated myself to a LC woe. I am doing this with my BFF whose in nursing school with me, so I have a buddy
On Monday, I started at 239.4 lb
I will weigh in every Monday and post my foods. I'm glad I found my old journal, I think it helped to go back and see what I was doing. I made it all the way to 213.2 before I messed myself up
I am happy to report that I have been in large to moderate amounts on my ketone stix since Wednesday....hoping to report a good loss on Monday!

ps I wonder if any of my old friends are around?!

One thing I have really missed is my morning coffee with HC & splenda. I also miss my diet root beer. However, in my coffee I am only using 1/2 a packet of splenda...yay!
ALso this first week I have had no LC desserts...right now I would rather do without for a while...I do have an occassional tsp of natural pb though

Last message for tonight:
I am off to pack my lunch for work tomorrow...tuna salad on romaine, baby!
And I think I'll mix up some crystal light since I am out of diet root beer!

Peace, love & happiness to all!

Is it really you ?

I've been gone a while myself, gained a large part of weight back and very rarely have time to get online. I started a NEW JOURNAL as well, but don't post as often as I should.

It is so good to see you !!

Girl, I feel your pain .... it is a daily struggle and I torture myself from meal to meal. WW is not an option for me, as I starve to death and DH won't do it either. LC is the ONLY way for us. HOWEVER, it seems that baloney and potted meat sammiches are cheaper these days.

Over the past year or so, I've been laid of twice and have just recently gotten a temp job. When it is over, I don't know what we will do. I only pray it lasts a total of 6 months, so I can at least draw unemployment during my job search. Because of the loss of income we have had to cut things to the bare minimum. We cut our cable bill down to basic channels, got the lower speed DSL, etc. Then we realized how much we were spending eating LC. So we bought pintos and other cheap things .... well, here I sit with almost all my weight gained back. In the grand scheme of things LC has to be cheaper because now I am busting out of clothes and can't afford to buy more. We are trying to just suck it up and deal with it. The plan again is start induction tomorrow ... but tomorrow is a day away.

I hope you can find some resolution, because I know for me .. a WOE is one of the toughest things I struggle with.

Ooohhh Candy I did not know yu were having a hard time. How's your daughter? I understand the $$$ as I am a broke college student with 2 kids! Thank God I will finish in May...less than a year now! I haven't been on much of any plan the last week. We had anniversaries and birthday celebrations almost everyday! I am going to make a list of the pros/cons of LC & WW and really take some time to look at things. I lost well on LC 2 years ago....I can't believe it's been 2 years! Ugh! So I'll be open for advice from ANYONE who would like to share!
Candy, Have a great day and press on, sister!! This too shall pass!! Love Ya!

Girl, you need to come check out my journal !!

Since we lost lost so wel (yep 2 years ago is hard to beleive) ... I've been laid off from the media industry not ONCE but TWICE !! So, I'm done with the newspaper ... right now I have a temp job and I just keep praying .... God has always taken care of us, and I know he will continue to do so.

As far as comparing WW/LC ... it is like apples/oranges ... how did your pro/con list go ?? When I did WW, it was years ago ... I think I was allowed 35 points and I thought I would starve to death. IF you have good self-control with portions, I think WW is excellent as you can always have a "bite" of anything you want .... where as on LC, one bite of "illegal" food can trigger a landslide .. it is crazy. I am less hungry on LC, and can eat larger portions. I think it depends on your body. Let me know what you decide.

weight this morning 238.1 I have a gain to deal with
Back on induction this morning. I will not let this be a roller coaster for me. I thought I'd try WW...my decision to have some fruit and whole grains quickly spiraled into "I'll just have some cake" or "Ill just have a candy bar" etc etc. And now I have another couple of lbs added on ugh
So the ugly reality is that I weigh two hundred and thirty something pounds! So, I have to be strict with myself...once and for all.
Ok, now that I have been brutally honest with myself!
B: 2 scrambled eggs w/ cheddar, 3 slices of turkey bacon, coffee w/ cream ( I am using up what's left of my liquid creamer and it has 2 carbs/tbsp)
I will try to make it to Sam's today to stock up on heavy cream, half n half, eggs, cheese and chicken

Congrats !! Are you using the ketostix ??

Your foods look great ... and back to your original rant on your weight ... sister, I know your pain all too well.

You and I are GOING to get to ONEDERLAND ... we can do this. We have to be honest with ourselves ... I think that is one of the keys here.

Your menus always make me so hungry and look so yummy.

Question .... what do you use the heavy cream for and what do you use half/half for ? I noticed that the half/half has a little bit more carbs but it is MUCH cheaper ... just looking for ideas.

Twink, I hope you have a great day ! I am sooo happy for you.

Candy-
Thanks for stopping by! Yes, I use the ketostix. My friend found them at super wal mart for around $6 I think... I have half n half around and I use it occasionally but my go-to is heavy cream. Iuse it in my coffee every morning and if I need a sweet treat I blend it with splenda & vanilla. Last night I had a little with 3 sliced strawberries and it really helped me thru a tough craving for sugar
I hope you have a fantastic day!!

*Vent alert*

Do not read if you don't want to read my vent!
This is my journal so it seems to me that I can write whatever I want, yes?
I have spent alot of time today reading all over this site in an attempt to compile tips, advice, recipes and such, in order to get/keep myself on the right track. I am SO disappointed. I have seen more "I messed up and now I am re-starting" and "I am having gastric bypass but I NEEDED to eat potato chips first" and "I had gastric bypass but I'm still fat" "I can't live without cheesecake"
This is b-o-l-o-g-n-a
I understand the concept of not being successful on a LC diet. It is hard. I am experiencing it as well. TODAY! RIGHT NOW! That is why I have been on this site all day! I have failed before....it's okay to get back on the horse. But falling off every other day and restarting...blah blah blah...it's a waste of time for me and my tired eyes reading all this crap.
And for the gastric bypass people that write about having to loose ten percent of their weight before the surgery, if they can loose the ten percent before, why the hell not loose another ten, and another ten? without surgery? and they still eat doritos and twinkies after...WTH?
Apparently I will need to look elsewhere for resources because this site is too covered up with disappointments for me...I will stay in my little journal world for awhile.
sheesh

Yes, girl vent away ..... yikes, I thought you'd been reading my journal with my restarts .... but I completely understand the way you feel. Sometimes I wish I wouldn't post my ups/downs for fear of leading someone the wrong way, etc.

On those ketostix, cut them longways and you can make 2 sticks.

Hope you have a better day !!
