Thanks guys! The joys of being a teacher, Shimmer. You work your butt off all year for those 2 months of freedom!

Stomach was a bit yucky feeling this morning...bloated I think. Weight is up a tad bit, but I'm back on plan this morning. Just had some turkey bacon and eggs for breaky.

I'm going to see No Doubt tonight in concert. I love Gwen Stefani and have loved the band since HS...it's also my first time getting to see them perform live. I just hope the rain stays away!!

Had an AMAZING time last night at the Paramore/No Doubt concert. Paramore was really good...I love the song from "Twilight." No Doubt and Gwen Stefani were AWESOME...musically OMG they were oh so good live and Gwen was so funny with the audience! She has the BEST body for a woman that gave birth to 2 kiddos. Her abs were so ripped! And she did 10 pushups (real pushups) before "I'm Just a Girl" started playing. She totally inspired me to get my act together and get ripped!

I took some new progress photos prior to the concert:

Me and my friend Jaime:

Paramore:

No Doubt:

Cardio is on the agenda today!

Thanks Rich! Not to sound conceited but I really like this one of me too. And I usually don't care for pics of me with my hair in its natural wavy state.

Sipping some coffee and just relaxing this morning. Super C is on the agenda today as well as some food shopping.

ETA: Gwen is HOT! She's going to be my inspiration...you could have literally washed clothing off her abs, they were so ripped! And after she had 2 kids??! WOW

Here's some inspiration for a great week on plan and lots of exercise!

Gwen Stefani, one month after giving birth:

And a few years prior to having children (I think circa 2002, Rocksteady album):

Curious about my macros...so went on over to Fitday, and dusted off my account:

Yesterday's Totals:
Calories: 1,493
Protein 30%
Carbs 18%
Fat 52%
Fiber 10.3 grams

According to Fitday, I should be eating 1,566 cals a day. Interesting that I was pretty darn close to that number.

I'm not really a daily numbers person, but I can see checking out my numbers from time to time.

Hey Rich,

I really like Super C. It is definitely a lot more challenging than the other programs, but with the challenge comes much greater results. My legs are looking a lot better already. I can't wait to see how my body is transformed after I do 100 hours of Super C!

Shee, wowie, I'm never as low as 18% carbs!! Glad to hear you're seeing the difference w/ Super C. The ab workout is SO challenging!! It was really hot here yesterday, so I did Cardio C for my exercise.

Hey Laurie!
Well, 2 days ago I was doing Phase 1.5 (because eating wasn't too great this past weekend) which for me is one fruit and one grain. When I'm following Phase 2 (which is most of the time) my carb count is much higher.

Super C is great! The abs on it are really tough...the hips and behind exercises are also killer! Have you tried it? I have Cardio C but haven't done that one in a while.

Hi Dani - I just started Callanetics and saw the link to your journal the other day. I read through it and congratulations on your progress - definately an inspiration!

I had a couple of questions for you.

1. What brand of Turkey bacon do you like? I forget the one that I tried but it was awful! I resorted to getting the real stuff - center cut bacon which is lower in fat and calories then the regular.

2. What is that salmon recipe that you mention- I think it was ginger soy salmon? Sounded good.

Diet seems to always be where I have problems. I will do good for awhile and then just let go a bit too much. This time, I am just trying to be reasonable with my choices and of course, watching those carbs!

Thanks,
Michelle

Hi Michelle!

Thanks for stopping by and nice to meet you. How are you liking the Callanetics so far?

Here's the answers to your questions:
1. For turkey bacon, I love Godshall's Maple Smoked turkey bacon. Here's a link to their website: Godshall's Premium Meat and Turkey Products - Since 1945

2. Here is my Asian salmon recipe...I adapted it from one I found online:
Grilled Asian Salmon (serves 2)
2 pieces of salmon
2 t. extra virgin olive oil
2 t. rice wine vinegar
2 t. sesame oil
3 t. soy sauce
2 t. splenda brown sugar
2 garlic cloves finely minced
1/4 of an onion finely minced
Ground pepper

Whisk all of the ingredients in a bowl and place salmon skin side up in the marinade. Pour a little marinade on the other side as well. Marinate anywhere from a 1/2 hour to 2 hours. Grill or bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes.

Enjoy!

So far I am loving Callanetics. I am not a flexible person but after I finish I just feel so well stretched and even a little taller! One can wish...

I am doing the 10/10 or am. pm every other day and at least 30 minutes of cardio on the other days. I just ordered the evolution dvd - so I am eagerly awaiting that one to arrive.

Thanks for the T. Bacon info - I'm gonna have to place an order for some.
The salmon recipe looks delicious - can't wait to try it, maybe this weekend!

Thanks again!

This is me to a T! I think the key really is moderation...and choosing healthy carbs...but watching the portion sizes of them.

Yes, wonderful flexibility is one of the most amazing side effects of Callanetics. Yoga's done wonders for me in this department too. I think posture is key with you feeling taller. I was noticing the other day that I sit so much straighter now, shoulders back, and was noticing the people around me were slouching big time.

You've got the Callan weekly workout figured out. Every other day and cardio in between is what I do too. I think you will like Evolution a lot.

No prob! You'll have to let me know if you enjoy the salmon!

I'm very sad about the passing of Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson this morning. I was a huge MJ fan as a kid...remember fondly at age 4 asking my Dad to play Thriller. I had a flashy glove that I used to walk around the house with and try to moonwalk. Just got a bunch of his songs on Itunes. He really was a talented artist.

I did interval walking yesterday and yoga class last night. Today I'm getting in an hour of Super C.

We've got lots of sun this morning! And, it is supposed to be 85 degrees here today!! I'm about to go out on the balcony with my coffee and say hello to the sun! LOL

Yesterday's Eats: (Back on Phase 1.5)
B: 2 pieces turkey bacon, 2 eggs
L: homemade asian chicken salad, YUMMMMM
S: peach
D: BBQ pork chops, LC coleslaw, corn
S: sf popsicle

Hi Dani!
Yes, I have Super C also, but in a lot of ways it's similar to my Pilates, so I don't do it often. I will say, tho, that we do some hip exercises in Pilates and I want to shout out "Tuck your pelvis!" I don't know what you're working if you tip your whole hip girdle up and down with your leg! So I stand there with my hands on my lower abs and lower back, tucked. I should do the Callanetics hip exercises, too, I do want to keep tightening there below my waist.

Enjoy the sun-it's very rainy here, which is great for my garden, but not DS's baseball!

Hey Laurie, I want to shout at people at their posture...lol...sorry you got more rain today. We had a brief little shower this afternoon, but the sun made several very nice appearances too.

Had a productive day...did some shopping, errands, had a pedicure, an hour of Super C, chatted with my best friend on the phone and made a yummy dinner of porcupine meatballs stuffed with brown rice, peppers and onion and a side of broccoli.
