I'm here! actually i wasn't following a low carb diet but rather a low calorie. now since im back up to 244 as of this morning im going to try "crack the fat loss code" its a carb cycling diet. its one week of VLC then high carb days, low carb days and baseline days. Then a few planned cheat days where you eat whatever you want for one meal. we'll see how that goes. its an 8 week program. im excited! actually i LOVE the first week back on low carb, i love that Woosh of weight loss!

That sounds interesting Lexi!!! Doesn't hurt to give it a try. I know Amber did carb cycling for a little while. Maybe she will chime in for some tips.

I'm excited!! 8 weeks goes by fast! my goal is to lose 25 lbs in that amount of time! i'm excited to not be completely cutting out carbs. im hoping this way they'll still be controlled but i wont constantly crave them. I think I will be successful Or at least I hope i will be. I'm sick of being a chunk!

So i'm on day 3 week 1 of crack the code. down 4 lbs so far sitting at 240 today. hoping for a ten lb loss this first week then i'd only have 15 more to go to reach my 25 lbs goal. basically once i'm done with the carb deplete week then i'll be eating lean meats, fish etc, egg whites, minimal amounts of oatmeal, cottage cheese, ezekial bread, one small potato occasionally, and lots of vegetables. Then twice/week after week two, i get "food passes" i'll keep my carbs low earlier in the day then at night i can has pizza or pasta things like that but just to satisfaction, not to overstuffing myself (this will be hard). i cant wait to see how i do at the end of the program!

ok i have to admit this, i am a fickle lady, if you hadn't guessed that already. i think im just too lazy and don't want to have to do the work that the "crack the code" requires. so im giving LC lifestyle a-go for another round. i'm going to eat on induction levels. when i go on vaca in two weeks i will not be eating LC but will return to it immediately and keep going. i guess when i get bored with it i'll try low calorie eating again. lol. im deseperate for 199!

Just checking in mid week! Still on induction level carbs. doing very well. no cheating aside from a bite here and there. I did drink alcohol which gave me some issues water weight wise but oh well. i defintiely need to get over the whole weighing once per week. I wish i could control myself and only weigh in once per month, that would be magnificent.

SO im struggling big time with my decisions for a quick trip i have coming up. I'm doing so well cravings wise that i just dont want to mess anything up BUT at the same time i had this tripped planned before i went back to my LC ways and had dinners planned at some favorite places. at this point im thinking about just letting myself have one HIGH carb day (the saturday that we are there) and letting it be guilt free. I'll plan for it to be a sort of shock to my system and who knows maybe it will help things move along. Actually one shock day every 3-4 weeks or so might do me some good, help me feel less like im missing out on stuff and kick start any stalls. we'll see how it goes and what happens. I just hope and pray that i can get right back to LC and not miss a beat. I'll be trying on my bridesmaid dress in late July for a wedding that I am in Late september, and im focusing on getting to the point where i'll have to have alterations to make the dress fit tighter I don't want to look huge fat in the wedding party either tho so more motivation for me. plus we're going to Chicago in Late OCT and i want to be cute and wear cute husker and chicago bears tees and jeans and feel good about myself. I think I should make myself a list of all these reminders to keep me going. ultimately i'd love to life the LC life forever, maybe one shock day every 3-4 weeks is key to help me keep going with that. I don't know... :/

Hi Lexiann - I didn't read your entire journal/blog, but just wanted to say that I totally relate to ups and downs, the fickleness of trying one diet after another, reading every diet in Woman's World and thinking "this will work for me." Just here to say that I'm sticking to LC induction until I lose 50 lbs. - with no alcohol (slipped up both Fridays my first two weeks) - and am posting this to as many sites as I can to keep me honest. At 60 years old, I really need to get this weight off and all the wonderful people on the website will keep me accountable. Hoping to write my story one day. Best of luck to you. Hang in there. We're all doing this together...one day at a time - one lb. at a time.

Hey!!! I think thats a great attitude to have! And i think you will lose those 50 lbs! When i first did LC i lost 45 lbs in 4 months!! it was awesome, i looked great and felt great and then somehow i let it all slip away and then became pregnant at my heaviest weight and gained even more. I feel as i grow older I become wiser when it comes to all this stuff. Its all mental for me, if i let things get into my head and lose my motivation it takes over and the weight comes back and/or i stop losing. I think keeping your focus is the most important thing and not thinking of it as a race but as something you'll do for your lifetime. Good luck to us both, but we don't need luck!!

Ok so i've decided I'm not going to weigh in again until July 1st. holy crap, this is going to be SO HARD! But I CANT wait to see what happens! I weighed in today at 237. I would LOVE to lose 10 lbs in this one month!!!!!!! But i think ultimately my goal is to just be in the 220s by then. I've got alot of things going on in June that could be possible roadblocks but i don't plan to let them. Events only last a short time and i just have to get in and then get out! I am allowing myself one cheat day next sat but i will get right back on that horse and keep going. also i will be doing alot more exercise, i want to push myself and see what i can really do!!! I will not be giving up alcohol, i very much enjoy social drinking, plus i didn't give it up my first go round and i don't feel it held me back by any means.

So heres to a great month of June, no weigh ins, lots of exercise, eating on plan and having my one cheat day and NOT beating myself up about it! Honestly its just food, get over it already!!!!

Lexi wow no weighing for a month, I like it that is going to keep you on track if you really want to do this!! Put pictures and notes everywhere that you are tempted, like in your purse, your dashboard, the fridge the pantry anyplace you might be tempted it really helps you keep your goals in mind. I have got to do something to move this weight I am beyond frustrated it is maddening, so I will be there with ya!

Yea Amber, its acutally been quite liberating, i don't feel like a slave to it nor do i have that pesky whisper in my ear "just step on me, c'mon for old times sake" like some dirty little temptress haha. I'm just going to keep doing what i've been doing, i've honestly not been this focused in a long time. I feel very confident that i've got the food thing under control, now i just need to work on getting my work out on! im shooting for three am workouts this week! I'm SO excited to see how i did over the month! can't wait for the july 1st weigh in. see the scale never is what kept me accountable, it actually seems to make me feel worse or cause me to backfire. stepping on it daily is not good to do, it makes everything seem like its going in slow motion. I'm confident I will have some loss once the month is over but i have NO idea if i'll make my goal of getting to 229, thats only 8 lbs though from my weigh in on June 1st.

Amber I really hope you are constantly reminding yourself and being appreciative to yourself for how far you've come. i understand that you are not done yet in your journey (as far as maintance goes) but you'll never really be done, make sure you continue to give yourself the job well done pat on the back. i think as long as you remember you'll A) never go back and B) keep striving for more. But i really hope you are #1 enjoying your hot new bod!!

Happy Monday, like i was saying to Amber above, i'm on a roll! lol! feeling great and excited to be looking great soon too! seriously locking my scale up has lifted a weight off my shoulders. i no longer feel to be in such a hurry, i'll just let this do what its supposed to do and go with it. i know what i can eat and i know what i can't eat and i'll let this WOE do the rest. One thing I definitely need to work on is getting more exercise, i'm really not exercising at all right now, i've got some bob harper DVDs and jillian DVDS that i know would work me out and get it going so i just need to do them!

can't wait for my weigh in July 1st! if i keep this up i could potentially be around 219 when i first try on my bridesmaid dress I hope so! and then i'll still have a little over 1.5 months before i actually have to wear it. alot can be done in that amount of time!

I'm glad its Thursday!! I'm feeling really good and feeling like im getting smaller. my pants fit great! Tue and wed am i made a quick protein shake with my complete nutrition "smart" choc fudge and unsweetened almond milk from my breakfast. I'm going to try and drink that on most mornings i think it will REALLY help me lose, low calorie, low fat and low carb plus it'll boost my metabolism and help me with cravings. some mornings i will still rely on eggies tho because sometimes i just need more food. its almost been one week since i hid my scale. i desperatly want to get on it BUT im not going to. im going to wait the full month to weigh in. i simply cannot wait to see my results. now if only i could get on with my workouts i'd be A'ok! i at least need to do 3x/week!

so tomorrow we go to KC. im going to eat low carb mostly tomorrow, may have some corn at dinner. But saturday is my planned cheat day. im honestly ok with cheating and looking foward to having some of my favorite foods, my biggest fear is setting myself up and not being able to get right back to LC on sunday morning. but i kinda need this i think in order to keep going. i think i'll let myself have one cheat day/month. if im successful i dont think it'll have any long term negative effects, i actually think it might do the opposite and help my metabolism stay reved up! I CAN DO THIS!

i may or may not post tomorrow, if i don't i will definitely post on monday and tell ya how it all went.

WOO! another day of feeling great! I looked in the mirror today and could tell that im changing, yay! i was tempted to weigh in and thought to myself "your body doesn't look like you are done on your weight loss goal, whats the scale going to do for you" and that was enough for me not to weigh in. I've decided for tomorrow that i will allow myself more carbs but im not going to totally lose my mind and pig out. maybe i'll have a few bites of my kids pancakes at breakfast. a few fries at lunch. some chocolate at some point. and maybe some pasta at dinner. we may just go to cheesecake factory so i can have low carb cheesecake who knows. i know one thing, i will be enjoying some bbq tonight! lite on the bbq sauce tho!

Lexi- I can tell in your posts you are much more focused and determined then previously and I think the not weighing is so brilliant, and I am glad you can feel changes, I cant wait to see what you lost in a month. Have you seen those extreme make over shows? They only weigh once a month, there is something to that!!!
