MAJOR LCF POSTER!

Well, hello everybody!
I woke up with puffy hands again today and not so sure why. SALT maybe??? So, in the attempt to do some self care I did mostly liquids today to see if that would help. By about 5 P.M. my rings on my fingers were moving around again...so something is working. My DH was an angel for me, and did a run to the Dr's office to schedule me an appt. for my 5 days of dizziness since I had received a busy signal for over an hour in trying to reach them. Our storms affected my computer this a.m. and their phones and computers this afternoon . He came back and took me right over to see her. I'll be taking an antibiotic for a bit. Also asked about and had the blood drawn for my iron numbers, see how I compare to this time last year. I got really pale when she dipped or tipped me. Soon I'll be pinking up again. Whoohoo.I drank the following today: Fuze, 6 oz. Atkins shake 2 L/S Chicken broth w/ protein powder & fresh ginger added L/C Hot Chocolate w/ protein powder added And my water I ate the following at dinner green beans w/evoo & butter & l/c Ketchup almond meal minute muffin w/ butter (1/3 w s/f strawberry) Stick of cheese 1 piece of bacon for snack that my weakness for salt doesn't hurt me too much...Well, folks until tomorrow...Good Night and God Bless Counting Blessings and Carbs, my LCFs...and ya' all count as blessings!!! In gratitude for all the luv, support and laughter! ![]() Mi

A Merciful and Loving Thursday, to you Dear Ones
Today is Thursday, April 22, 2009 and weight is to 162.6 lbs Vitamins & Supplements 1) multi 2) Cal-Mag-Zinc 3) B-12 4) Ferotrinsic capsules 5) Vitamin E Water Consumption [] [] [] [] [] [] Other Bev- []} []} Food Consumption for today will be Br- 3 pieces baked Bacon, 1/3 of Gr Choc minute muffin, w butter & van. syrup & nibble of romaine Snack- ? Lu- leftover Mexicani Stroganoff Sn- ? Dinner- see below Dessert- ? Well, my morning started off good @ 6:30, but dizziness returned at 9 a.m. Had slept for almost 5.5 hrs. Minimal cramps. Thank you, Lord! Our Columbus Blue Jackets lost last night at this 3rd playoff game, but did score 1 goal! DH upset, but this is the first playoff season that they have even made it to, so I told him that they are least on the map now! Poor fellows haven’t had much respect except for all of us fans..they always have a sell out crowd. We did not snack at all during that game. We caught only the last period from the comfortable recliners here at home of which we own our seat license. Pain is moderately present. Pain in legs is most dominant, pain wise but the dizziness is more bothersome to me today. Today will include a nap…and down time. Now sure what dinner will be yet, it’ll depend on whether I can get to the store or not. Big Mac Salad sounded really good, but need romaine, have everything for a quiche or hamburger-pie. Time will reveal. Trying to plan a visit still to see my parents, almost booked our vacation resort and plane tix last night for Memorial day weekend, while he was away at an officers meeting last night. Glad that I procrastinated. Upon arrival was informed that we have a Kof C conference to get to that weekend. So, guess we will see mom & dad earlier than originally planned, and it will be less time than I’d prefer, due to our other obligations. We both need R & R, and not so sure where we will find it. <Deep sigh> These conferences and banquets coming up are not a reason for me to freak out about, but golly… will we stay on track w food plan? Will it cost us excess money for conference? Any excess is not in our spending plan. Just a Wee bit attitudinal right now. This is a way DH serves the Lord, so I have to say, that it must be the Lord’s will. Turning it over to God…and must rely on God’s provisions. Jesus…I believe, help my unbelief. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life! Feeling so much lighter now ![]() In Loving Gratitude, Shalom ya'all! Enjoy this blessing of a new day before you! ![]() ![]() M |

Good Morning Everybody!
It's 10:30 a.m. and I haven't decided at all what to eat today. I am swollen again and my body is wanting to hang around 163. Ppppfff! I am not going to take this lying down. I think I will try another semi liquid day as I did the day b4 yesterday. Dinner, I am making a ratatouille w/ meat. Yesterdays food was not over indulgent " German choc" minute muffin, for b-fast, and didn't even finish it leftover mexicali stroganoff (dreamfields) for lunch and didn't finish that either I made us a sausage meatza for dinner, which was very good. I made my own turkey sausage and pizza sauce for it, so the sodium was restricted and controlled. I also used some Boca crumbles to make the meat look like it was going further for the both of us. I topped it w cheese and bell peppers and a few diced onions, added more cheese and topped with the pepperoni (slightly nuked and oils mopped up first). So maybe the pepperoni is too much sodium for me... I never liked it before, but it's really quite to my liking during this WOE, and I crave it, too. Well hopefully I can find some a bit lower in sodium...or I might have to learn to make my own with that one, too.Made some Jen Eloffs micro brownie for dessert (no salt added, oops...lied it was in the butter). Having a very full day today with a lot of kitchen duty, grocery shopping and collecting a bunch of paperwork for an appt tomorrow, then a meeting tonight. Today was a day that I took my nap first, as I never did get the one I had planned yesterday in . I won't be living on the computer today...but I'll be back ![]() In gratitude and prayer for the day, LCFs and sending felt best wishes for you too! |

Re: successful WLS ideas
[The below was written for the WLS thread, so if it doesn't apply to you, please know where it was originally intended, I simply wanted it here, too as part of my journal]
I was pondering this and have to say that the successful surgery idea will depend on the individual and what it is they are after in respect to their expectations of WLS. In my need to be obedient to what I believe that God was asking me to do; I was to lose 100 lbs. within a year and find a husband. That first 100 lbs came off before the 12 months had passed, and it has stayed off since then. That is what was successful to me, for me. Obviously that isn't necessarily someone else's idea of what a "successful surgery" would mean to them. I need to stay at a weight that will be less than 210 in order for me to consider my ongoing success, with that 100 lb calling staying off. Sure I certainly have an obligation to work at the weight loss now. But it was so much easier when I was under 150. I was happy and healthier and a new bride, very honeymoonish in every way... & in some ways cocky, too by allowing foods in that I should not have. Please don't make that same mistake. Some sugary stuff in rarity at a "special occasion" is one thing. But regularly can lead to my total downfall. I am not a take one bite of wedding cake and be satisfied type of person. I don't think I ever will be. I would want the whole piece and maybe even more. The sugar affects after wls can be horrendous, sometimes making me sick or sometimes not. This tongue of mine needs bridling...I have to lead it where it will go next. Although the wedding may be over folks... the Marriage Is On!!! I have been looking at the term BMI, too. I have been pondering it many times over the past 10.5 yrs., too. It's a tool that rates a person's body mass. If I had always been at 162 lbs as an adult (as I am today), that would still mean borderline overweight. I know & as many of you have come to know that with a loss of over 100 lbs there is excess skin issues. Should the 15 lbs of excess skin (minimally) be subtracted from the losers wt to achieve a more accurate & true BMI? This is what I've pondered. I haven't read anything scientific about this from the medical community, although I have searched and asked. With respect for those of you who have lost more than 100 lbs without skin removal have you ever pondered this yourselves. With respect to the 100 lbs loss w skin removal, what about you? Have a beautiful weekend! & ![]() |

Good Morning Dear LCF,
I survived the wonderful banquet last night. Although I didn't eat strictly low carb, I started off pretty good. They had crudite' platters set up for starters with cheeses and veggies. Not knowing what was being served for dinner, I allowed myself more than I would have b4 L/Cing. I didn't focus on the protein at dinner itself and that was a bad choice. Should have skipped the whole wheat roll, but I ate half. Should have never let the 3 rotini pasta pieces touch my plate. I ate 1/2 a meatball and only a small bite of the chicken. I was absolutely stuffed. I drank a virgin bloody mary, and 2 cups of decaf coffee w cream & S/L and a few sips of water in the 3 hrs while we were there. 3 hrs later, back home I required more protein, so ate a cheese stick. It truly was a lovely awards banquet. We sat with some very special people from our council. I slept pretty well, but will require a nap is what I sense now. But it is a grand brand new day, and I started off with Hi-Lo cereal w U/S almond breeze, choc flavored. Wishing each of you delightful visitors a glorious day! Off to look around now .Blessings & Peace! M |

Hi there Jaimie! Good to see ya! We both had an early appt today to attend to some necessary personal business & then I went to get groceries...a very strange day indeed. Beat the storm front though. TYJC! Am here now until the mighty thunder starts rolling again
.That sort of reminds me of the song "How Great Thou Art". I am now in the mood to sit down and write some music. I drank a protein shake for breakfast, had a cheese and cracker at the store, stirred up a portion of kielbasa lite a bit ago to call lunch. All in all this is it & it's almost 4. ![]() Will go have a look-see! God bless you and yours! Love and Prayers! Mi |

Is there ever a period that you want to put the scale away?
Lovely Morning fine cyber friends!
Half here today though! My DH is hacking (up from his toes I think) with a bad cold that sounds like whooping cough...Dr is squeezing him in. Had 4 pieces of uncured bacon this a.m. from Trader Joes. What I really like about this stuff is that it is much lower in sodium. Fixed DH 2 portions of Kielbasa Lite and also scrambled eggs. Not sure if I'll be making hm chicken soup or do something with the LB of burger in fridge. He doesn't say as he wants me to take it easy too . B-L Bro is trying to get me to try a plan by Jon Gabriel...but it seems a bit like mind control to some. Sort of a concept of not dieting but listening to something at bedtime. But on another note, B-L Bro's articles are coming right along though & many of them excellent. Denver Extreme Weight Loss Examiner May is almost here and I see that I did not meet my first mini WLG. Not a complete failure, am I?...oh don't go there self...Fr C is having me working on stopping the neg self talk. So DH & I help each other in that regards by saying don't insult my wife (or I say husband). Will have a break through some day soon. I am thinking that I need to put the scale away during TOM's visit and when I have a lot of inflammation. Or the rodents start spinning wheels Checking around now!Well then, Hugs to the huggers & High 5 to the rest of ya' Have a fantastic day whatever your WOE!God Bless! M |

Mostly norm 4 Mi today
Good Morning LCF!
I'm doing okay! Thanks for asking. ...&, How are you? DH says he can breathe through his nose today. The meds are working (prednisone & benzonatate), and he is working from home today. We are both in pjs right now(at 9:30 a.m.). But I haven't a clue what I'm doing today. Maybe more laundry since it's all piling up. I'm just hoping that w/ the weird weather we are having today that we aren't going to be getting a tornado. Thinking of Dorothy and I just don't fly all that well these days . could hang on to the bird though.I made us each 3 pieces of that TJ bacon. Noticing it is also very low in fat! There is hardly any fat left in the pan , But that's a good thing, right?Just now receiving FAX of my labs from last week on my Iron, CBC & B12/Folate levels these are the abnormalities RBC 4.03 L norm range is 4.2-6.1 HGB 12.1 L norm range is 12.5-16.0 HCT 35.9 L norm range is 37.0-47.0 RDW 15.8 H norm range is 11.5-15.5 All the rest of the 22 other things are within the normal range So, all in all that is looking not so bad for someone who has been anemic since H.S. Hoping everyone here has a fantastic day... will go look around now, to stop and see ya all! Love and Prayers, Mi Last edited by Bissonnettemi; 04-30-2009 at 08:37 AM.. Reason: edit |

Took a friend and our Fr. M out for brunch today. We had a wonderful time. I had a chicken and green chili omelet and decaf coffee. Not much to say as I need a nap. Dh went off to work today. Resting up for a big weekend.
When I got back home my Neighbor friend was outside with her little boy and he wanted me to come over for a visit...that was so cute of him. I told him I needed to take my nap. He insists that I come after nap time, and I said perhaps. Out of the mouths of babes. Little things sure mean a lot. We love our neighborhood and everyone here! Everyone is very pleasant and friendly. It's time to start planning our block (addition) party again. I wanted it to be on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, but now we have an obligation for a conference out of town with a fraternal group DH is in. This is the busy time of year with graduations, weddings and showers and other social obligations...Well, Sept is when we usually have it, so maybe that will be the time again. Have a blessed day and weekend. Let's see if I can keep my foot out of my mouth .M |

First Saturday of May
Vitamins & Supplements 1) multi 2) Cal-Mag-Zinc 3) B-12 4) Ferotrinsic capsules 5) Vitamin E Water Consumption [] [] [] Must drink more water today to flush ketones Other Bev- []} []} []} Food Consumption for today Br- 5 bites of kielbasa, 3 blackberries a bite of cereal and a couple of bites of toast –too full to eat Snack- none Lunch- Erma Garbage Burger, no bun, w/ broccoli Sn- A spoonful of cheesecake pudding, Ross mint bar Dinner- chicken skewers, green bean fries Dessert- most likely pecan pie tart muffin, if I get the chance to make them Well, Dizziness is still around even with my antibiotics. Sleep was earlier last night than usual and I woke up just before 3 a.m. (almost 4 hrs). I arose to take my iron and drink some hot water w/ true lime and A.S. Even at 5:15 a.m. I’m still up and have plans of getting back to bed soon. Good news is that I had a great nap yesterday, so I am really not sleep deprived right now. Just got in a little cardio workout and <sigh>The weekend is really here and I have appt to get my hair done today since we have the Miter Dinner on Sunday night. I love the idea of getting pampered some. Pain is moderately present. Pain in rt. leg is most dominant. Today will include morning mass, appt., nap…and some down time. Not sure what to fix for supper. Could make some chili or better yet, chicken skewers and broccoli. Arranged a sitter for the upcoming week. Now to gear up for what to pack, Go Lightly! Will have to remind myself to place another Net order to our destination. Ordered from Netrition again, and I hope it makes it to our destination before we have to leave there to return back home. Wanting to be prepared to have some of our L/C favorites and hopefully keep us on track, while we are away. EVE- The Feast of the Good Shepherd Well we just returned from Mass and my back went out while seated in the pew…not sure why I decided to transfer from W/C to pew but did…now I regret it since we have a very full day tomorrow. The TJ chicken skewers are pretty good and they go nicely with green bean fries, not that green bean fries need any accompaniment...they are like music to my ears A simplified dinner was just what I needed tonight and glad I had these things on hand. Have a great weekend...until I am back again, tomorrow or Monday, God willing. This little lamb is going to spend some time w/ her Shepherd now Love & ![]() Mi |

Thanks! I am very rested and pretty peaceful today. But I will be rushing to everything done in these two days. Dinner last night w/ the bishop at the Miter Society dinner was very nice. All the appetizers were L/C and of course I was very nervous about what was served, so allowed myself ample appetizers of scallops wrapped in bacon, asparagus wrapped w proscuito, various cheeses, and strawberries. Salad served was 100%. Skipped the rolls
![]() ![]() , and had a couple of bites of chicken, prime rib & au jus, green beans, broccoli at dinner. Skipped the pasta and the carrots ![]() ![]() . But sprinkled the parm on almost everything. Strawberry and one dark chocolate dipped one (70% cocoa) and a couple of nibbles on something too sweet for me. Had Decaf and a bit of water as we were there for 2.5 hrs. All in all I was pretty good yesterday. I even took my own hwc for my coffee & L/C pecan tarts in the a.m. (our group served the coffee & donuts at church). Kept DH & I on track for the a.m. Thank you Jesus. We came home for lunch and had L/C wrap for lunch. Today I am going to fix a lasagna to last us two days and cannoli pie. I have to use up this ricotta. Will be using deli turkey instead of noodles...I hope that the sodium doesn't get to me... maybe I'll soak it in water and blot it out first. Well must get going. & ![]() Mi ![]() |

RE: my L/C Lasagnas
Checking in
Will be busting my bumpus today to get everything done for today & tomorrow a.m.Last night I kept waking w/ horrible upper abdominal pain and I think now it was due to "C", so I'm upping my water and fluid intake today. Eggs HB, Some Laundry, some KP, now this, done so far... will be off to run the errands that I didn't get to yesterday as a good friend kept me on a LDphonecall. No phone for me today...that is my weakness. Yak, yak, yak! The no-noodle lasagna turned out pretty good but I am thinking it is higher in sodium than my body can take. But good thing is I froze 1/3 of it for an easy heat and eat meal in the future . I will say that I much prefer the lasagna w/ french style canned green beans instead, since I can buy the GB with no salt added. But I will add that I have never met a lasagna that I didn't like ![]() Happy WOEing Near & Dear Ones! ![]() Mi ![]() |
