DEEP DISH PIZZA QUICHE

4 oz softened cream cheese
4 eggs
1/3 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
1 tbs chives
1/2 tsp Italian or pizza seasoning
2 cups shredded cheese (I use mozzarella/cheddar mix)
1/2 tsp wet garlic or 1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup lowest carb tomato or pizza sauce
1 cup mozzarella cheese
Toppings to taste (I use pepperoni, sausage, onion, green pepper, mushrooms, whatever!)

Preheat oven to 375.
Beat together cream cheese and eggs till smooth.
Add cream, parmesean cheese and spices.

Spray 13x9 glass baking dish with PAM.

Put 2 cups of shredded cheese in dish and pour egg mixture over.

Bake at 375 for 30-35 minutes.

Remove from oven.

Spread with sauce and then add your toppings.

Cover with mozzarella cheese.

Bake till browning and bubbly (or however you like your pizza!)
Let stand for 5 minutes or so.

I have also made the base and bake it in a 9x13 ceramic dish. It was puffy about one inch thick. Refrigerate. The next day I brought it to room temperature and I put the filling on top and finished cooking it. It was perfect; the base tightened up and became a stiff crust.

I think that making it in a non metal dish is better, the one I made before in a stainless steel dish had a different texture and since glass is hotter it does make the crust crisper.
Sounds great. I will make this soon. Any ideas on carb counts? Its important for me sweet cheeks.

How was date night with your son?

Well Thursday was a good day.....lets just say.... I started at the gym w/ 60:00
min Cardio....and some swimming laps....
then I ate good all day
B: Sausage patty w/ Cheese
S: Atkins Pro Shake.
L: Chicken breast w/ 12 green beans.
D. 2/3 lb BACON CHEESE BURGER ( bottom bun only w/ pickles, jalapenos, mayo mustard
onions shredded lettuce topped w/ a lettuce piece ( didnt eat the crown part
of the bun ....no fries )

After work I went to the gym 2nd time that day ( gonna be a 2 - 3 time a week

Did 42:00 ( 4.5 mile ) elip work out...

My son and I went to dinner ( see above meal ) ........and then to the movies...
See WAtchmen... it was.......eh.....pretty good.... not bad.. LONG....
well..we went to the 8:25 movie..( which meant it started at 8:45. after previews )
and then got over at 11:15....
got home got ready for work and gym......
by the time I got to bed...12:30... sooooo I knew 4:50 was not gonna be gym time..

So I got up.....you all know the routine........gently stepped on the scale.....

Death is not something to take lightly..........

I was reading this little article in Men's Health Mag while I was on the elip trainer..
it said that Successful exercisers dont think about having to exercise..they just get out there and do it.
then says Dr. Sandra Cousins an exercise gerontologist at the University of Alberta said
after conducting 50 interviews she found that people who relied on Self-pep talks
to motivate themselves to exercise remained inactive, "they are just not ready"
But people who got encouragement and motivation from family and friends or co-workers
are more successful
( Amen for all of us here !! haha )
It said... Need a jump start?? According to a study in Journal of sport and exercise
physiology.. "Writing about YOUR OWN mortality can boost your motivation.." Write
down how the thought of your own Death makes you feel and read it in the morning..
that should get you moving !!!

I am not sure about writting about my own death will get me moving in the morn....
I think about all the frenz and motivators here I have to Answer too each day gets me
moving enough !! haha...

My last post for the day.....

I am going to fight another battle tonight............ My friend.... I go to my friends house
to meet up with he and his wife and other friends.... he has a nice deck in his back yard..
there has been many nights I have stayed there after too many beers.....
in the spare room....In the last 4 years....I have probably stayed 50 times..
we would have "Deck Therapy" every Sat night.... they have also tried to set me
up in the past with his wife's friends...( which some has been good outcomes...others not.)
Well....so now they leave that me finding happiness up to me.... haha...

But since November I have only been over there like....5 times... and last time was a month ago.....
not that our friendship is strained.....it is well...Deck Therapy goes from
5 -6 pm til...3- 4 am.... ( even in winter ( he has a deck propane area heater ) and..well we live in Houston
it gets down to 50 in the "winter" ...hahaa..)
well We drink....it is our escape from...work and just relax and talk about every and anything...
So...I HAVE been keeping distance cuz...I dont drink anymore ( beer )
and..last weekend I had 4 drinks...and peanuts.... and well...it set me back
two lbs....
Well....tonight I am going over there........tonight I ride that rail....of Do I have 2 drinks..
and switch to water....or....do I PRETEND I am drinkin mixed drinks.... ( vodka soda )
looks like water...haha ....or do I just fess up and say.....hey Bro...I have lost 33
lbs in 2 mo...... I need to keep going til I get there.......
I am going and gonna hang out all night.....watch the Rockets game.....
and....will be happy go lucky myself....and just fight back ribbing I will get for a while
about Not wanting or not being able to drink....
Cuz I know the first thing outta one of their mouths will be...
Well SEE that is even more reason to celebrate...33 lbs !!!

I will rebuff with..well I wanna see 35 by monday......so sorry.

Uggggh... I hate weekends !!!!!!

I fully agree with my good friend Diane here.. Go, enjoy yourself with your friends, and tell them why you don't want to drink (30lbs in 2 months) Being as good as friends as you make them sound, I am sure they will be real proud of the things you have accomplished so far!!! Go, have fun, enjoy the company without the carbs!!

I agree with every one else. Its ok to just pass. Have a water or diet soda and drink that and be merry. No need to drink. I think your friends will understand. Stick to your guns!

Yes.. I wanted to drop in quicky (prob. too late - but maybe will help for next time) that I take good mineral water (sparkly) and drink it with lime.. It feels special and you can also get zilch mixers (google them.. can't put link here) and throw some of the margarita flav. in the mineral water and have non booze GREAT drink..

This is what I do most of the time..
you can also make virgin mojitos..

Have a GREAT time!

Hey JRod,

Great weekend wishes right back at ya'! I will definitely be continuing my LC eating. I'm finding the eating part easier and easier. Even the exercise is becoming routine which is great. It's the frickin' social drinking that presents more of a challenge than anything. I'm so conditioned to have a glass of wine or a drink when I'm eating out, etc....Exercising willpower is good for the soul though

Keep up the great work on your 2x a day workout challenge with Flipz!

Hey, hope you had a good time at your friend's place...I understand what you're saying about the drinking temptation. Being in social settings w/ friends, especially if they're drinking, is the hardest part for me.

"stepped on it as "lightly" as possible... " LOL, I also used to step on the scales lightly..now I just hit them with all my weight, rather get the truth if the scale is up. Sigh...that is life.

Well... Here I am ....... MONDAY.!!

Sunday was good.... ate on target.... drank the required water..... did house work..
lil grocery shopping for the week.....
Dinner was Hot wings and Salad....

Today daaaamn ... I had the same issue I did last monday....hit that stinkin SNOOZE
button...3 times.. so I was late to get to the gym....thus shortend workout...
but....today is MONDAY ...and for me its 2x workouts....( Wed and Fri too )
so....this morn 6am....was 40 min ( 4 Mile ) eliptical trainer.
lunch time ( at our company workout area ) 11:30 I did 40 min ( 3.5 mi ) on the
Cross trainer. for a total of 7.5 miles and 80 min of Cardio....
I WILL SHOW THAT 1 Lb gain I had something in the morn !!!

Lunch was ham and cheese 1/2 wrap at 12:45.
Snack was other half ham and cheese wrap at 2;45
Dinner will be either a steak and salad...or.... 2 chicken breasts

Well that sounds like a great day! I'm still amazed by these 2x a day workouts. I want to be like you when I grow up!

Now I checked out that menu for today. I am so loving the wraps! I just ordered the low carb tortillas from netrition....mama lupe's...omg they are deeeelish! By the way, I didn't see any breakfast at all. Are you skipping breakfast regularly or was this just an oversight because you were rushing?? Skipping meals is a no no JRod!
