Third times a charm!!! Keeping it real!!

So the shoes..... I went to dicks yesterday looking for Ryka shoes. When I was looking online I saw that they carried them. Get to the store and they do not have them. Well I really wanted a pair yesterday because of working out with my sister and really wanted a good new shoe. So I got some help from one of the workers. I had on reeboks, nikes, and then tried on 2 different pairs of sauconys. I had never heard of this brand before but it was one my sister recommended and the price was right. So I had it narrowed down to a pair of saucony and a pair of reeboks. I had searched online and read about what type of shoes you should use for zumba. Running shoes are not ideal. You need a shoe that has been designed for aerobic classes. The Ryka shoes I wanted were designed for zumba. They had some tread, and yet were smooth enough to twist with the zumba moves. So I ended up getting these........ I did a few ZUMBA moves in the store and they seem like they are going to work. Very lightweight.

This is what I had been wearing...... Not a lot of support and didn't swivel well for my zumba classes. Fine for walking but that was about it. Plus these were about 10 years old.....

My instructor in the gym wears these and she said Dick's carried them as well as the Zumba sticks. I bought me some cute 2 lb. free weights and for the life of me can't find them. I decided that I would buy a pair of new workout shoes and Zumba sticks when I reach a weightloss goal of 10 lbs.

WOW, what a picnic. Felt like we were melting today. We kept the kids hydrated and cooled off. Us adults could have used a sprinkler or something to cool us off. WOWZA!!! The girls played hard all day and DD2 was out on the ride home. DD5 was out shortly after we got home. It was fun and I was sad to see family leaving to go back home. Its never a long enough visit. I saw some family that I haven't seen in awhile today and they were just shocked at the difference in DH and I. It felt good.

Finally got caught up on reading your journal.... didnt realize I missed saying so here it is late.... I dont have those any more... content with being 33 twice +.... more fun that way.

We are in prolly our 12+ days of 100+heat... I am kinda getting accustomed to it....like being in a sauna without the expense of electricity... I just have to watch my activitity level when I am out in it.... Yesterday I drove my car to town & back (30 miles) and just had the windows down... figured I had soaked through my clothes anyway so why not just enjoy the bake...

Hi Melanie,

Glad that you had a great time visiting with family despite the heat. I feel bad for you guys when it's so hot---we are used to it in Arizona (at least I am) and it's true what they say, there's literally no humidity.

It's funny: we have family nearby in town. On one hand, it's nice to have them nearby, but on the other hand, they can be a pain because they are around so much. But I guess overall I should be more thankful that they ARE around.

Ryka's totally rock! When I did jazzersize the instructor got a discount from the company. All the instructors wore them. The are the best for aerobics type exercise!

Hello dear friends. Busy weekend as usual. Had to have our septic tank pumped yesterday. We had water coming in the drains, thank goodness it only came in the laundry room and not much water, but what a pain. Had a picnic yesterday with Dh's family at a local park yesterday. It was nice.

Today I am just getting stuff ready for our little getaway. DH is on vacation this week and we are going away tomorrow for 2 days to an amusement park. Looking forward to some fun family time with the family.

I have been plugging along on this. Not being real strict this week and the scale is starting to go up. TOM is due to come this week. So after we get back from our getaway I am getting strict again.

Ohhhhh on the septic! I have lived here for 25 years, had as many as 7 people living here & now have 6. Mine must have been put in right because I have never needed to have it pumped. I do put enzymes down it occasionally & lots of kombuch & keifer pieces....often just some good old cooked beans or baking yeast.... just fortunate I guess!!!

Faithful~ Thats awesome!!! I can't say for sure, because we have only lived here for 7 years but I think the last time it was pumped was 1985. There was a diagram on the wall in our garage and it said septic full 4-13-85.
