Hi Bekki!
My jogging buddy is great! She text messages me promptly @ 5:20 daily and we are jogging by 5:30 or so. We really help to keep each other motivated, I wish everyone had a workout buddy in their neighborhood because it makes a huge difference for me and it is sooooo convenient! ![]() |

I reset it...and just put one foot on it.. get a 35lb or whatever reading... then get back on it fully...and its the same as the first time.....soooo.... the one thing I hate about my scale...is....it doesnt LIE to me !!!! haha Quote:

You are hilarious!
The funny thing about doing multiple consecutive weigh ins is that they only get HIGHER after the first try! Knowing this, you would think that I would just weigh once and keep it moving, but I'm stubborn so....... ![]() And I'm sure you will be just fine at the concert. I guess we have to stop equating eating so called "good food (aka forbidden food)" with having a good time. We both know that this is easier said than done. Just have to work on reprogramming our thinking...just like with the exercise thing. The most important thing is that we are doing it though!! Yayyyy! ![]()

Ok my scale is officially stuck!
![]() I'm not that angry though, this is my 4th week in the induction phase so I know that weight loss is expected to slow down. However, I've done my 2 mile routine for 3 days this week and my eating has been really good.....until today that is ![]() My breakfast was perfect....1/2 lc tortilla with 1 sausage link and 1/2 slice of American cheese. Very light and very tasty indeed! I drank 2 16oz. bottles of water by lunchtime. Now to the problem.....I met two friends for lunch at PF Changs. I didn't eat much. I had 1 lettuce wrap with a small amount of that chicken mix in it. Probably not so bad. I ordered beef & broccoli without rice. Probably not so bad if it hadn't been doused in a very delectable brown sauce. It wasn't drenched in the sauce, but I know darn well it had carbs. As Homer Simpson would say, "DOH!" Since I'm being honest here, I will also admit that I'm heading out to a birthday party tonight with my BF at a club. I haven't had a lick of alcohol during my 4 weeks since I slipped up on 2/28 (again at a club!!!) and had 1 grey goose with cranberry. Believe me, this is really good for me! So anyway, I'm going to allow myself to sip a little this evening. Tomorrow I'm working out with my neighbor and doing my 2 miles and will be right back on plan until my vacation begins on 4/16. I feel bad (a little), especially after teasing JROd and encouraging him to be good during his Clint Black concert, but GEEZ, a girl needs to let loose every once in a while..right??? ![]() |

Well yeah... the brown sause...you can TASTE the sweet in it....and.... the chicken wrap sauce too...... Well...all I gotta say is get back on it tomorrow.. at least you had no rice....good for you.. ( now flush your self with MORE water before you hit the club.....) you want MORE unsolicited advice ??? haha.. well... dont have vodka / cranberry.. have vodka / soda w/ a lime.. less carbs.. you drink one of those.... and then some ice water.. then another you will be ok... ( that is my plan for the VIP Suite at Concert tonight...) lil bbq... ( no sauce.. no beans or coleslaw... just meat.. ) and about 2 drinks.. NO beeeeer...whaaaaaah !! damn I would give for like 4 beers...... We will see how I hold up....but I CAN tell you this.... tomorrow....( after house cleaning ) I am off to the gym !! haha.... Have a good time and a great weekend ! Jarrod Quote:

Hey JRod!
I know, the nerve of some people..lol I had a fantastic weekend and I hope that you had a greatttt time at the concert! Although I was not on plan Friday, I didn't do a lot of damage. I actually ended up going with bacardi and diet coke that night. Ummm, let's just say that my limit was not 2!! ![]() I ended up having about 14 fries after I got back to the hotel room that evening though. I woke up Saturday and had an egg white omelet with sausage. Buff wings for lunch and a small salad for snack. The carby taste from the fries must have been lingering though because when I went to a late dinner with my BF, I ate 3 large nachos with a bit of salsa... m but ordered grilled chicken with shrimp and veggies for my entree. Sunday I resumed my workout and totally got back on plan. My off days didn't set me back too much thank goodness, but it's back to business. I got up this morning @5:40am and was delighted because I ran a mile without stopping!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Quote:

So JRod, I didn't gain any weight after my slight splurges on Friday and Saturday. I have exercised Sunday, Monday and then again this morning. Hopefully in another couple of days, I will see some downward movement on that frickin' scale. I continue to feel smaller though, so that is a lovely thing!
It sounds like you did a pretty good job too. It's so hard to be disciplined! Last edited by hotchick818; 03-18-2009 at 11:59 AM.. |

Ok, so my food has been good to go since Sunday. My exercise has been on track too. No worries on that front. I think that I am FINALLY getting tired of mock danishes. It's about time! My blood is probably 1/3 cream cheese by now
![]() Although I have been somewhat in denial, I do feel like that additional cheese intake is slowing my weight loss. Even though I splurged a bit, I'm still holding steady at 184. I'm ok with this, but am ready to see another couple of lbs. drop. My exercise routine is to thank for the lack of weight gain after the drinking and indiscretions on Friday and Saturday. So although I am far from a gym rat, I must sing the praises of regular workouts. It is also tie to admit though that I need to cut back on the frickin' cheese! After this last container of Philly CC is gone, I'm going cold turkey. I do feel that I need another type of goody to replace it with though. I am cruising the Induction food porn thread again and will also check out some of Linda Sue's recipes for ideas. It is day 31 since I first began induction. Yayyyy! I haven't been perfect, but I have been pretty good. I am confident that I will reach the 170's prior to my mid-April vacation, but wow would it have been nice to get there before the wedding that I have to go to next weekend! It would be far too ambitious to expect that within the next 8-9 days, but if I could drop another 2lbs by 3/27, I would be happy ![]() |

LOL @ the first paragraph! That's my screen name because I like to hear it/see it, etc...! No worries
So it's the sodium huh? I don't think that I have EVER taken the time to look at the sodium content in the cheese/cream cheese. Which is amazing because I am a label reading maniac! Last night I did without the mock danish. Yayyyy! After cruising the recipes section in the desserts, I stumbled upon the easiest ice cream recipe that I have ever heard of and I must say that I am in love! Check this out, the recipe is for chocolate ice cream and all that it takes is the canned chocolate Redi Whip. You put it in a cup or whatever you want to and freeze it for 2-4 hours. Voila! Ice cream. And it really tastes like ice cream. Unbelievable. I think that this will be my replacement for the mock danishes now. I decided to weigh again today after my morning run and I am down another pound. So it's 183 babyyy! [quote=JRod;11715482]Hey Hotchick !! haha..and I say that cuz its your screen name.... not cuz I am like...trying to say it to you... I mean..not that you arent a hot chick.... umm..nevermind... Whooah...well...if you buy it...( which you did...be careful...cuz it has enough
carbs in it....but it is good.....) I will post a recipe for pizza I make...it is gooood in the mean time while you wait for your crust haha... Quote:
Well HC....I know you can get into it again...I believe in you !! Quote:
beast for each other...and are behind each other.... I will do a 1/2 bun...I figure that is about 15 carbs.. I havent had any today.. and...well 2 x hard workouts....I CAN have a 1/2 bun !!! haha... Quote:
you Hotchick too !! it fits you very well. Quote:
gooood idea !!! Yeah...lay back on the sodium...and keep drinkin lots of water...you will drop lbs in a day !!! Well again..THANK YOU for stoppin by !!!! I'm smilin !! Jarrod DEEP DISH PIZZA QUICHE 4 oz softened cream cheese 4 eggs 1/3 cup heavy cream 1/4 cup parmesan cheese (grated) 1 tbs chives 1/2 tsp Italian or pizza seasoning 2 cups shredded cheese (I use mozzarella/cheddar mix) 1/2 tsp wet garlic or 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/2 cup lowest carb tomato or pizza sauce 1 cup mozzarella cheese Toppings to taste (I use pepperoni, sausage, onion, green pepper, mushrooms, whatever!) Preheat oven to 375. Beat together cream cheese and eggs till smooth. Add cream, parmesean cheese and spices. Spray 13x9 glass baking dish with PAM. Put 2 cups of shredded cheese in dish and pour egg mixture over. Bake at 375 for 30-35 minutes. Remove from oven. Spread with sauce and then add your toppings. Cover with mozzarella cheese. Bake till browning and bubbly (or however you like your pizza!) Let stand for 5 minutes or so. I have also made the base and bake it in a 9x13 ceramic dish. It was puffy about one inch thick. Refrigerate. The next day I brought it to room temperature and I put the filling on top and finished cooking it. It was perfect; the base tightened up and became a stiff crust. I think that making it in a non metal dish is better, the one I made before in a stainless steel dish had a different texture and since glass is hotter it does make the crust crisper. |

Hello Dear!!
Thought I'd stop by and cheer you on. I can see you are going full-speed ahead with your woe. Good for you. I discontinued my journal because when I googled Dr. Johnson Up Day Down Day Diet, my journal thread was right underneath it - out there for the whole world to see. Though I think you have to be logged in to view it. I just didn't want my stuff out there - know what I mean? There's always hackers. Anyway I'm still doing JUDD and loving it. I do the Judd threads here on LCF. It's an easy woe. I hope you reach your goal - and enjoy the journey at the same time! Redeemed

JRod, you are funny. We seem to have a similar approach to this. Like you, I'm committed to exercising and staying on plan. But life happens and inevitably there will be a slip up here and there. And I'm ok with that. I'm not going to lie, I happened to partake of a few beverages myself on Saturday. And I enjoyed every last one of them!...There must have been something in the air this weekend
![]() My eating was just fine, but uh what was that you said about that cream cheese addiction??? Can we say mock danish? Yep, I had one a couple of hours ago. So in other words, I'm still working on breaking that addiction! I've been better though. I was having them on a daily basis at one point. I must say that I'm getting tired of the taste though so I think that my love affair with them may be short lived ![]() That being said, I dropped another lb. and am quite pleased. Looking forward to my run in the morning. I'm glad to hear that you had a good weekend. And shoot, a few combos never hurt anyone. I am completely happy to be on plan 98% of the time. It seems that as long as you limit the exceptions to the rule, it doesn't seem to do much damage. Thank goodness!! Quote:

Staying on plan 98% of the time... that is what matters.... Well said !!
I do see the similarities we share with our....lil weekend ...."allowances" I mean we arent out eating Pizzas and Lasagna and Gen Tso's Chicken and rice !! haha.... I think we deserve a few hours of fun and relaxation for that 2% of our week..... the other 98% owns us !! haha.... And as you said...we are committed to the eating and exercising..... I know we share in the desire to do that.....cuz...see...we are smart and know that we NEED to do that !! haha...it is the only way to really shed the weight.... Quote:
or what..?? I am friendly to all..... and love to give encouragement....( and of course get it back ) ..... But....shhhhh.....dont tell anyone.... but.... You coming to my page makes me smile the most....( I cant show favortism ! haha ) but....umm....you see I am always comin here to see if you replied to me here..... haha ( I know... that's weird..haha ) Quote:
you find something just as good for you..and GOOD to eat to replace them... haha.. I hope you have a great day........... thanks for stopping by...!! Jarrod |

Redeemed,
It's great to hear from you! I'm glad that all is well with you. Wow. I can't believe that your journal appeared in a google search, but then again, nothing is truly private on the internet. My goodness. I'm going to have to research JUDD a bit more to see what it's about. I'm so glad it's working for you I am doing great and feeling fab...well on my way to goal! ![]() Quote:

JRod,
You always make me laugh. But yep, I figure that as long as we're on point almost all of the time, then we will be just fine. And you know you have all of the ladies cheering you on. You must be something else in Houston! You know I'm just messing with you about this. I'm friendly too and that is the only way that I know how to be![]() So in my pursuit of low carb desserts, I ordered the brownie mix from netrition and yayyyyy!!!! it arrived today. Unfortunately I am plum out of frickin' butter, so I can't make them tonight, but I am sooo looking forward to that treat tomorrow. I guess I could run out to the store, but it's really not that serious. My neighbor flaked out on me this morning so I didn't get to do my daily jog...it's too dark to run by myself, so I'll just work extra hard tomorrow morning. I hate to miss my exercise! ![]() |

Well the thing is...... I HAVE to do the 2 a days..... I mean...I can do 40 - 50 min
cardio...and lose 1 lb a week....but 2 x a workout 3 days a week ( 1 cardio x the other 2 days ) and do weight machines. Quote:
its off again.. haha.. Quote:
take your word for it.. haha.. Now....the Joseph's Lavash bread check this out.. I can get this at most Wal-marts in the deli bread area..( look for the hawaiian bread...its there ) each huge big peice is only 8 net carbs...( I ALWAYS cut them in half ) or qtr them and toast for crispy for like tortilla chips ( my downfall ! ) haha...but they are soft and thin.. so I use them as my wraps.... they taste good..! they are made of flax and oat bran and whole wheat.. ( well you can click the link and check it..haha ) Quote:
so....when I get to work at 7:30....I wait til about 8 and eat either 2 boiled eggs and a sausage patty... or.... turkey lunchmeat and cheese roll ups... or just eggs.... some days I will have a atkins shake....about 10 .... depends. Quote:
I am way too much for even the 4th largest city..haha.... Well...I can tell you I have given up the dating scene for a while.... I am focused... this is 2009 for ME....and I have to teens I am The Dad for...and cook and clean and do all that for...and well..... I am good with that for now. I get up....go to the gym.. work...come home....either work out again...or cook and laundry...and yadda yadda... and.... then chill for the night.... bed at 10:30 ...up again...4:50 am.... who can date a guy like that !! haha.. tomorrow..!! haha...did you get any in on Monday ??? ( today ) or...tues when you read this.? haha... Have a good one..!! Jarrod |

Okey dokey,
I got up this morning and did my 2+ miles with my neighbor. Yayyyy! Now I must admit that it was hard this morning. I didn't get much sleep last night and of course I did not want to get up. Since NOT getting up is NOT an option, I got it on up and out by 5:45am. It had been 3 days since I last ran, so I had my doubts about whether I was going to last the entire first mile without stopping. Well I did last and we went a bit further than a mile. After the first mile or so, we walked for about a half mile, then jogged for what I would estimate to be another half mile or so and did a couple of sprints too. I felt GREATTTTT when I was done. So tell me why is it that I get up and out by 5:45, back in by 6:30 and still can't get myself to work by 9am???? I mean I do have a 1 hour commute, sometimes 1:15 depending on traffic, but really, it's pretty ridiculous to me. The major problem is that for some reason, I refuse to get my clothes together the night before. Knowing that this would completely resolve my issue, I still refuse. Baffling I know. Anyhoo, on to my food for the day: B- 1 Mama Lupe lc tortilla, 2 scrambled eggs, 2 slices bacon, 1 slice of AC L-small salad with 1/3 cup of chopped eggs and ranch dressing S- a few bites of seasoned bumble bee tuna D- ? So I don't know what I will have for dinner tonight. Perhaps a turkey burger or perhaps wings from Papa Johns. My breakfast was so frickin' delicious this morning...I didn't feel deprived or anything like that. It was a perfect breakfast. Just a tad bit high carb for my taste. I kind of like to distribute my carbs out evenly throughout the day and give myself a little room for dessert later. My bfast had about 6 or 7 carbs. I think I'm going to incorporate this breakfast into my daily routine, so I will probably phase back to a 1/2 slice of cheese and perhaps to one egg to cut a couple of carbs. The tortilla is only 3 net carbs which is wonderful considering the fact that my other ones were 5 net carbs each. I had been cutting those in half for my bfast wrap sometimes to cut down, but I love that I can have a whole wrap for just 3! ![]() I measured myself the other evening and was pleased to learn that I have lost 2 1/2 inches from my waist and 2 inches from the hips. Whoo hoo ![]() |

Well WHY do you.?? haha...cuz you know you get out the door at 5:45 and that seems
so early...so you have PLENTY of time.....to get ready..next thing you know..its 7:00 am and you are standing at the closet staring into it with a towel wrapped around you and thinking....hmmmmmmmmm....15 min later.......hmmmmmm.... well....then by 7:30 you got it...and get ready.....and out the door by 7:45..... sound right ???? Hhaha...I KNOW that person....I drive 45 min ( used to be an hour before the construction was finished ) to go 25 miles...... I have to be in at 7:30.. so I know I have to leave the gym by 6;45.... so I need to BE there at 5:00 cuz I also shower there etc..... But.....I DID change..... I did pick out my clothes the night before now...get my gym clothes ready.... so I dont have a choice...but I am sure if I was at home and came back to the house to shower and get ready...I would be in your shoes again....haha... Well good luck with that !!!!! ( you KNOW what you gotta do girl....I know one thing we hate doing it rushing in the morns !! ) Jarrod |

I feel like I have been gone forever! I sure missed this board. I've read a couple of posts but have been soooo busy that I am just now coming up for water. So where do I start? Ok, so last Friday I took a longggg car ride down to South Carolina with my BF. His cousin was getting married so we drove down. We picked up his mom on the way and rode down with his sis and her hubby. We had a very nice time on the way down and I was very good food-wise on Friday although I did partake of some homemade plum wine! Yes, they are Southern folks from the country!
Saturday I joined the family for breakfast. Now I had already decided that I would relax my diet a bit prior to the drive down, so I was already in good food mode Since I had been missing my fruit and milk, I decided to have an apple and raisin bran with skim milk for breakfast on Sunday. Followed that up with chicken and green beans for lunch. Dinner was ok too. Bottom line, I cheated but didn't overdo it and I still feel grrreatttt! Everything in moderation is what they say .I was back on plan as of Monday and have been doing really well. After my wonderful weekend, I had only gained a pound. I can deal with that. So far this week, I have jogged 2+ miles on Tuesday and Wednesday. I slept late this morning. Doh! but will be back at it tomorrow and possibly over the weekend too. I noticed something very cool that excited me big time on Wednesday while I was running. I noticed that my legs were feeling stronger and not like two lead pipes anymore. Yayyy! The physical part of the jogging is getting a lot easier for me, now I just have to get the mental together! What's up JROD? I've been checking your journal out but was too tired to post anything. You are still doing a darn good job. 35 lbs. is ridiculously good! Hey Daisy, Glad to hear you're feeling better too! |

Wow. I have been so awful with posting lately, but life is crazy right now. I've been busy at work and busy in my personal life too. The good news is that I have been pretty good with my eating and exercise plan. I've been pretty dedicated to my 4 times a week workout routine. Yayyyy!
On the eating front, I've had a couple of slip ups, but the great news is that I'm down another 2.5 lbs and am right on the brink of the 170's. This is extremely exciting because I had determined after much feedback from my friends, that 180 is my make or break point. At 180 or under, my friends (and I) agree that I don't look fat so to speak. Still not thin, but not bloated or really heavy. Anything in the 160's is gravy for me, so I can't wait to get down there again. I'm really shooting for 160 on the nose, perhaps even a few pounds under that to give myself a bit of wiggle room. And now that I'm at 180, it doesn't seem so far away I purchased a box of Atkins choc chip "Daybreak" bars. They were extremely delicious as my taste buds are now extra sensitive to anything sweet. I noticed after implementing these into my diet as a treat, that they triggered cravings. I think. Because on Sunday, I had the uncontrollable urge for something salty....I downed a bag of cheetos. And I've got to tell you that those cheetos hit the spot in the worst way. I'm just glad that I was still able to continue losing despite the slip up. It seems that if I slip up and cheat, I limit it to a cheat meal as opposed to a cheat day. Ideally, I would do neither, but this is life. Oh, almost forgot to post my diet for the day: B - Atkins shake L - 1/4 baked chicken, 3/4 cup cauliflower D - something good! Last edited by hotchick818; 04-09-2009 at 11:30 AM.. |
