Thanks girlies !!

Jaimie ... chapel was awesome ! I have never sat in a "service" with co-workers, other than a few here or there that just happen to attned the same church. Too cool ! This was a group out of Atlanta called Broken Voices. They had a awesome message for the students. It was very good.

Beth, I wondered how you guys were ... saw the "promo" on FB. Ha ! Wish I'd thought of you when the septic tank burst here. I know it would be out of your "area" but at least I'd known if they were trying to rip me off . We did it ourselves and now I think we have mold ... since I'm broke, we are just spraying with bleach off/on all day.

Back down one pound from my "episode" ... I just want to get back to the magic # on my scale that I saw not too long ago. Plugging along ....

Weigh-In
Highest Weight: 264 (12/07)
Lowest Weight: 228 (5/08)

Start Weight: 248 (7/9/09)
Current Weight: 232 (9/24/09)

This week's loss: +2
Current Loss since restart: -20
Total Loss: -32

First Goal = 240 (8lbs) -- made goal (7/30/09)
Next Goal = 230 (10lbs) -- made goal (9/2/09)
Next Goal = 220 (10lbs) -- 10 lbs til goal

*********************************************
My #'s were up a lb or so this week. They have been up/down all week. I am sure my poor body wishes it would make up it's mind. Hopefully things will get steadier next week after a week of clean eating.

I know that a few weeks ago I saw that 228 and I am going to get there again. I didn't really have any veggies the past few days. Carbs were good but had food with "fillers" so I think it is still water retention.

I have clothes that I can't wear (some that were given to me) if I gain. I have a college campus to navigate daily. I cannot afford to gain ! I have DH's 20 year HS Reunion on Oct 24-25 weekend. I want to wear something nice. I want to be down to the 228 by that weekend, but would love to meet the 3rd goal by then. Gonna take lots of work and the cooperation of my body. I am praying that God will help me !

Had a good day at work yesterday. I did get my email address, Faculty ID card and parking decal. However, I am still lacking an extension # and dial tone on my phone. I still have no computer. They are supposed to offer a temp. fix with the department laptop (they use it for presentations). Hopefully I can at least get the email up and running today !

Hannah is good today. On Tuesday night she did not feel good again. Had a 99 fever. So strange ! I just can't see hauling her to Immediate Care, etc. when the fever is so low and she is bouncing back so quickly ... usually with one dose of Motrin. I just don't want to expose her to anything she hasn't been exposed to. My nurse friend told me NOT to bring her to the reg. doctor's office.

So far two of my friends have lost everything they own. My best friend since Middle School has really gotten it the worst. I have posted those pics on FB if you get a chance. Her name is Susan. So should be able to see which ones are of her house. Her fridge was FLOATING in her kitchen. That is powerful water flow !

Additionally, her children go to the school that was underwater and is completely destroyed. They will be splitting up the kids into two nearby schools. Not sure what that means for the teachers and their pay. They are having "drives" to replenish school supplies. It has made the ATL news and from what I am hearing, the response has been great. Many other teachers have really felt burdened and have stepped up to the call.

The day AFTER weigh-in ... I finally drop back down to my 2nd goal. I just pray that I can maintain that til the next weigh-in. Of course I'd love to get back to the 228 ... sigh.

Still struggling with the veggies. I need to go this weekend and get some stuff to take to work. I had all the kitchen amenities at my old office, but it came with 100 people that accessed it all so something always seemed to disappear. Because of that I only took whatever I prepared for the day. Here there are only 10 of us with access to the kitchen . Also at the other place ANYTHING in the fridge on Friday's was TRASH. I lost lots of bottles of salad dressing, mustard, etc. It was ridiculous. But I understand that was their rules and I can see why. I just would forget to get my stuff on Fridays.

With that being said, I will take some condiments to the new office. I already have a bag of pork skins and a 2 liter diet drink that I kept there this week. I did go ahead and take my pack of bacon and cheese so I could eat breakfast or a snack with them.

The job is going well. I LOVE this !! It so much more than a job ... it truly is a ministry. Finally I am in a place where what I do actually has a profound impact on something !! They've changed my title to: Data Integrity Manager. If I ever get all the PR stuff taken care of I'll post the link to the college webpage with the picture, etc.

Oh Candy,

I am sooooo happy you like your job. Isn't it amazingly fulfilling to have work with a religious purpose. I know we are to do any/all jobs as though for God, but it's doubly rewarding when that is the framework of the job

Happy Fat Burnin' Friday

Back up the 2lbs this morning ..... argh !

So Monet, my mission this week is/was to find some low-carb bread. I just want a sandwich !! I found the bread online, but apparently you can only get it a retail location and can't order online ... argh. I think if I could find a store that carried it, perhaps you could order it. Closest place to me is the other side of AL. For anyone else, check this map of retailers: Healthy Life Bread

Ok ... so good news and bad news. DH found the bread at our Kroger. The label is kind of decieving. It is better than regular bread, but the 5 net carbs is for ONE piece even though the serving size is 2 pieces. So, it is 10 carbs if you have a sammich ... sniff, sniff !

I am really struggling today. I guess we just all have those days. I almost didn't come post ... but figured that would not accomplish anything.

I am swelled up big time today ... 3lbs of fluid. It is all in my ankles and fingers. My back feels like it is splitting in two !! The fluid is probably from the WHOLE BAG of pork rinds I ate yesterday. The back is just my old aching back mixed with all this rain. It is just not a good combination.

I dread going to SS this morning as our class is upstairs. I am tempted to only go to the main worship service, but DD will be devastated. Maybe I could crash someone else's class this morning .... most likely I will go and just cringe as I climb the stairs.

This afternoon is my friend Lee's visitation and funeral. He was only 43 years old and died with a brain tumor. So reminiscent of my Mother. It is a bittersweet day as he had suffered for so long.

Dropped a pound of my water weight ... guess that is better than nothing. It is still frustrating. Got my LC yogurt to take for breakfast and my LC spaghetti leftovers for lunch. I think I really should enter the carbs in fitday and also measure my portions. I've just been counting it as taco soup since it is close in counts.

Overall I guess I feel a bit better this morning, but I am sooo tired. No cheer practice tonight, but no rest in store. There is ALWAYS laundry. I'll never get caught up. I always did laundry on the weekends prior to the septic blowup. I was told by the repair man that is bad for a older septic tank and I should never do more than 2 loads a day. Not to mention that running the dishwasher counts as a load. So, I guess such is life I'll just have loads of laundry everywhere !

Hoping this coffee will wake me up soon !

Good morning Candy! Glad to see things at work are going well! Hang in there. I am sure that you will adjust to the changes soon.

I would really watch my salt intake if you want the scales to stay down. Are you keeping up with what you are eating on Fitday anymore? Maybe jot it down if you aren't and see how your sodium intake is looking. If you are eating mainly meat and pork rinds, that can really make you retain water. I would work on getting my salads in this week.

Hope Hannah is doing better. That was my dilemma last week when Kate was sick. I just held out b/c I didn't want her to get anything worse. I am glad I did too!

On the septic tank, we had trouble in the past with ours. We use the Rid-X stuff and ours does great now. It may seem expensive but it is better than having to fork out hundreds of dollars for a pump or repair. Best price I have found is at Walmart.

Take care! It's gonna be a great week!

Thanks Twink ... but I don't deserve anything. It is ONLY by the grace of God that I have been given this wonderful opportunity. I wasn't sure if you were still here, I am glad to see you ! I'll stop by and visit your journal and see if you've posted an update.

Beth, I KNOW you are right on the sodium. I do still track in fitday. I just looked back a few days and it runs anywhere from 800-1000 mg per day. I know that is horrible. What is even worse is the day I ate the whole bag of pork skins. That along with my other foods that day was over 5000 mg. YIKES !! Def. need to work on this and at the least up my water intake if I do this again.

I am finally back down from pork skin fiasco ... got the water retention gone. So here we are back at my 2nd goal of 230 again. NOW, to try to lose some real pounds !

Thanks Monet. You know I already have BP issues so I really need to be more aware of this.

Weight holding the same this morning. No time to visit journals this morning, so I'll try to do this later. DD is sick again ... urinary issues ! Going to take her to the urologist when they open this morning.

We were only able to see the nurse yesterday. Her doctor was not in the office. The nurse took great care of her but couldn't really give us any answeres. The urine did show some abnormalities in the nurses opinion but she is not the lab so who knows what the report will say. It takes 48 hours. We got a strainer (in case it is stones) and some nasty slimy stuff came out. The doctor actually called me last night. I emailed him a picture of the "stuff" and he will look at it this morning. I still know nothing. However I wonder if it "female stuff" ... can this happen at 7 ?? I've heard some random stories about female problems in children (not necessarily menstrual). Ugh !! It's just so frustrating !

Yes, you saw a 4lb loss ... but it's the same 4lbs I've been struggling with for a month !

Still no word from the doctor. She felt OK yesterday. Surely they will call today.

I am so nauseated and tired !! Not sure why I feel sick at my stomach, but I know why I am tired. We had a football game last night ... my first extra event ... LONG night to say the least. It is very rare that we play on Thur. night but we were the NAIA Divsion game of the week and it was a televised game (CBS College Sports).

Ae pretty well yesterday. I am supposed to go to lunch with my old group from the newspaper, so that should be nice.

Lunch was really nice. I enjoyed seeing my friends ! It has been over 6 months for some and almost a year since I've seen the others.

I am asking for your prayers again. The doctor had emailed me yesterday morning and told me the picture I sent was not a kidney stone. It could be from an infection or possibly FEMALE !! He told me to let him know if she got worse. What in the heck ???!!!???? My heart dropped .... she is SEVEN !!

Later that afternoon the nurse from the urologist called and said it was not an infection. I was freaked out, especially when she said she didn't know what the next step would be. I called a dear friend of mine who works at the local Peds office. She is the head nurse for the female Ped. at this practice. We have never seen the female Ped she works for, but my friend says she is great. She said we could use her and since they are all in the same practice the insurance should cover it (at this point, I really don't care).

I emailed the picture to her and she and this Ped were VERY concerned. I stayed on the phone with them for about 30 mins answering questions. We will be going into the office this morning to see her (on a Saturday). Of course, as always, there are many things this could be. She is leaning towards confirming or ruling out something very specific right now. I hope it is not what she has, but if it is we will deal with it the best way we can. If anyone knows anything about this, I'd love to talk with you later IF this is what they determine she has ... I will certainly need a support group. What she is considering is IGA Nephritis.

Depending on what publication you read, depends on how bad this could be. It's just plain scary though. Basically if someone has an agressive type of this the end result is kidney failure. Although they say that takes 10-20 years. I don't want to read more and continue to scare myself unless they confirm she has this. But, I think what scares me is that she has ALL the symptoms pretty much !

No kiddin' !! Wonder if we will get billed for a visit ??

So, the Ped visit went well. The urine was clear today, such as catch 22, as they can't really do any diagnostics in a good situation.

The Ped wants to do a 3 week urine analysis. We take a sample once a week for 3 weeks. The next step would be a 24 hour urine study. Then posisbly a sonogram and/or a CT Scan.

Technology has come so far. The Ped can look at medical records, etc. on the computer now. She wants to review her entire medical history and plans to do this at home. I was very impressed at the technolog2 evy available and her willingness to take my child to heart and help us find a solution.

I am very tired this morning. Have SS, then worship service at Church. Have 2 events to work this afternoon for the College. I love building up this comp time.

DD had a melt down yesterday. She has been wishing to go to the beach for a year now. We were unable to go during the summer as we had NO funds. There is a possibly we could get some "funds" by the end of this week. DH and DD are on fall break this week. I am off next Mon and Tues for the college fall break. There is a slim possiblity we could go to the beach this weekend. It would require me using some comp time if we could leave Thu night. If not, we could leave Fri night. We would have less time ... but hey, she could "see the beach" and her wish would come true. The meltdown totally broke my heart.

I am having some more "plumbing issues" as we haven't had our flax muffins in a while. I really need to make these soon.

Oh Candy,

I am sorry you don't have a clear answer yet, and will continue to pray for all of you.

Make sure you are drinking enough water, that can help with the plumbing too.

Hugs
