~~Cyn's Journey~~

Time to get serious! Though my weight loss journey has taken me down many roads, I am shamefully disgusted that I am just about back to where I once was. Extremely overweight... obese to be exact and very unhealthy.

Hello to anyone that may be reading this. My name is Cynthia, Cyn for short A little background information about me... I started Atkins on the last week of November in 2003. I was at my highest non-pregnant weight of 218, busting the seams of my 14's and very comfortable in the size I should have been wearing at the time 16/18 Those first 2 weeks I lost 18 pounds and I was ecstatic ! I had not been at the 200 mark in well over 8 years at that time so it was a great accomplishment for me. I continued on my journey and lost a total of 43 pounds bringing me down to my goal weight of 175 and a size 10 by the Summer of 2004. I had not been a size 10 since I was 15 years old! I maintained my weight for the next 3 years never going above 5 pounds of my goal. Then life hit me...HARD....here I was a mother of four, finishing my last year of college at the age of 34. I was overwhelmed and stressed beyond belief. Between work, school, kids, husband, home, and making sure my parents medical appointments were made and kept I let myself go. I pretty much ate whenever I found the time so my food choices were pretty rotten and I managed to gain back 37 pounds over the last year Adding to my stress...this is my first year teaching. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my job and it is SO rewarding, but it is extremely stressful at the same time and I am a BIG stress eater

So here I am 35 years old and back at the dreaded weight of 212 pounds. I have been wanting to start a journal for many years, but I just never got around to it. I decided to start it tonight because I need somewhere to track my progress and keep me motivated.

So tomorrow is day one for me...please feel free to comment and pass along any advice. I am determined to get this weight off! I'm going to start slow...if I jump in too fast I tend to rebound quickly. So my goals for this week are:
  • Drink at least 80ozs of H2O a day.
  • Limit coffee/caffenie to 1 per day.
  • Some form of exercise 20 minutes a day.
  • Stick to 3 meals and 1 snack per day (This will be TOUGH)

1st short-term weight loss goal: 12 pounds off by February 22 that gives me 4 weeks....so basically lose 3 pounds a week.

Cyn~

Just going through the threads to find other Christians and surprise I find another Cynthia...tho I go by Cindi. I live in FL, married to a dear man of GOD and we are in ministry. Also, we have three married children and 7 grandchildren.

This healthy fat loss journey has been bumpy, but a steady course brings good results!

I'm here! Thanks for asking and thanks for dropping by and reminding me to post!

I'm doing pretty good so far...down 5 pounds I'm having a little trouble getting all my water in though! As for exercise...I broke my hand last week so I'm kind of limited to what I can do. I'm trying to avoid sweating at all costs...I don't want my cast getting all stinky

Cindi~ It's a pleasure to meet you Please stop by anytime! I need all the encouragement I can get

Busting through the cobwebs to get back to my journal! Here I go again....My last day of work before summer break was last Friday, June 5th. We went on vacation Sunday through Thursday. We got back yesterday evening...so now I have no more excuses...I.NEED.TO.GET.BUSY!

I just finished taking my measurements, weighing, and taking pictures to track my progress. Let me just say...it wasn't pretty! My current weight is 212.2 and my measurements and pictures are tucked away in my drawer...maybe I'll be brave enough to post them when I've made some progress. Here are my new goals:

* Drink at least 80ozs of H2O a day.
* Limit coffee/caffenie to 1 per day.
* Callanetics 2x a week.
* Walking at the park, wii fit or exercise bike 3x per week.
* Stick to 3 meals and 1 snack per day (This will be very TOUGH)

I'm getting ready to do the Callanetics DVD for today. I that i can get through it!

YIKES I just finished the first hour of Callanetics I have to admit it LOOKED really easy, but Oh MY!! It was tough...I wasn't able to do some of the leg/butt exercises, but I'm sure with time I can build up to it!

Things are going really good. I've been doing really well on my eating...it's been a slow painful process, but I've made a lot of progress so far! I danced for a total of about 2 hours yesterday, so I'm counting that as my exercise for yesterday Today I'm going to tackle another hour of Callanetics

As of this morning I'm at 208.2 so that's a 4 pound loss for the week Still working hard....I've been cooking a lot this past week. Most of our meals before were fast food because of my work schedule, but since I'm off for the summer I'm taking advantage of the time and cooking

Wow! It's been a supper busy week, but I've been to the park to walk/run twice so far We have plans to go again tomorrow. I'm really enjoying it because aside from getting in some exercise I'm going with my son so we're getting in some one-on-one time which is hard to come by with 4 children!
