What about trying your eggs different, a quiche, egg creams? Or how about dinner for breakfast, or left overs, or an advatage atkins shake?

You do not have to just have breakfast food for breakfast sweetheart. Shake it up baby!

I have bounced back and forth between 215 and 220 for the last 6 months and I don't know what to do either. I have even thought that maybe lc isn't for me. DH says it is but I just don't know what to do. I haven't gained over 220 tho.

I may do egg creams for breakfast all next week, or advantage shakes. I am suppose to consume 1600 calories? Is this right, we take out weight and multiply it by 10?

Have you ever ate uncooked cookie dough or a cake mix? Then you know it wont kill you. I am going to search egg creams and pick a few. I will let you know. I think there is a challenge with egg creams. I just need to figure this out. I think I could do one as a replacement meal every day but need to watch the calories. Do you eat the calories for your BMR (IS THAT WHAT IT IS CALLED)or just what makes you full? Do you do fit day?

It looks pretty good. Now, here's the challenge if you choose to take it--get the protein down to about 75 grams per day (60 is supposedly optimal but try 75 first)spread throughout the day and the fat up to around 180--and calories up to 2000-2100--this leaves room for around 20-30 carbs. You'll probably have to pre-plan meals for a few days to get the hang of it.

Ideas for todays menu would be--at breakfast get rid of the grapefruit (just for now) and ditch either the cheese and chicken or the eggs from the salad and add half an avocado and/or increase the amount of dressing--or add a handful of mac nuts. Lunch looks OK as long as there was a lot of cream cheese involved--at least 2 ounces to get the fat up. On the meatballs, depends on what was in them and how big they were but cutting it down to 2 would decrease the protein. Dinner--cut down the amount of meat and increase the cabbage. Did you fry it in butter? Is it something you could add more butter to or possibly sour cream? A good add in here would be another handful of mac nuts or some berries with a lot of whipped cream (heavy whipping cream whipped, not from the can).

Basically for this week--look at meat, cheese and eggs as condiments used in fairly small doses. Nuts and seeds use sparingly except for mac nuts which if you like them would be a good way to get fat up--just add a serving once or twice a day.

Do you have a plan for tomorrows meals yet? If so, let's see what we can do to get them in the lower protein/higher fat ranges.

Maybe try a One Minute Muffin loaded with cream cheese and 1 hb egg and 1 bacon. That should be right around 25 in protein which is what I would roughly shoot for at each meal.

You mentioned tuna for lunch--I don't know about you but I always used to eat the whole can (small can, not the large one) but now I do half and add in 1/2 an avocado plus lots of mayo. If you don't have or can't get an avocado I would still stick with just 1/2 the can and then do some raw veggies with dip. Just mix sour cream, cream cheese and whatever spices you like--I love it with chili powder or taco types of seasonings.

For dinner--make the protein small and I would look for some kind of cream sauce or cook it in butter. Then lots of lc veggies with as much fat as you can manage.

If you are having a hard time getting in calories/fat, have some herbal tea with cream but I would avoid adding any sweeteners to it right now.

So--does that sound doable?

This is what I have planned for tomorrow. Let me know what you think!!!

bf- bacon(3), 2 eggs scrambled w/ butter, cheese

l- asian beef and cabbage, salad w 3 servings dsg

d- talapia fried w/ butter, mock twice baked potatos, strawberries and whipped cream.

Comes to 2126cals, 180.2 fats, 37.5 carbs, 82.8 proteins. Still kind of high on preteins, but what do you think

Yay--good job!! On the avocado--make guac when you have a chance and use it for a veggie dip.

I'll check in tomorrow and see how it's going.

You sound like an angel sent from above or out of nowhere. you have alot of knowledge.

Jen, I am sorry about not losing but at least you did not gain. Have you tried an avocado with either mayo scoop in the middle or avocado with lemon jiuce and cilantro? DOes DH like them in case you do not. Its a great way to get the fats up. I eat alot of mayo on meat. I love it!!

[COLOR="Navy"]OK so far the plan has really fell apart. I woke up late and had to get outside and help dh work on building.

so bf was quick, bacon (3) decaf coffee 4 tbsp cream
l- beef hotdog, salad with 2 serv. dsg

We took a break for a few mins. now I have to figure out how to get the rest of the day right and plan for tomorrow. Tomorrow should work out well, since I have to work.

Thanks Bekki!!! Teresa is an angel and I really appreciate her help. No dh doesn't like avacado unless it is guacamole. I am going to the store after while and get some berries and avacado if they have any. Sometimes they don't. We don't have a lot of options around here.

dd is planning on grilling hamburgers on the grill, so plan for now is a hamburger patty w/ lettuce, tomato mayo and I want to fix the mock loaded baked potato. That should help my fat area and then the berries and whipped cream. I will figure it out in detail later when I have another break.

Jen--it sounds like you are doing a great job with improvising so far--fat vs protein looks like it should be pretty good. I'll check back in tonight and see how the day ended up.

Ok I got some avacado today and I thought I would just try it to see if I liked it. It was not too bad, I think I could eat it on a salad or something like that. So I am going to try it. DGbaby likes it too.

Also I know that I have asked for it before but can you give me the recipe for one min muffins 1 more time. I will post my menu in a little while.

Avocado was something I never cared for, I don't even like guac. But I decided to try it again a few months ago and mashed up in tuna or chicken salad and I never even know it's there. It just bulks it up so the meat portion seems more like my 'normal' size and it adds tons of great healthy fats.

I'll go grab one of the OMM threads and post it here. Then you'll have the original recipe and about a zillion tweaks to keep things interesting.

Here you go. There are lots of different versions--both sweet and savory. Also, you can use all flax or part flax and part nut meals, etc. My biggest tip is--after it's cooled for a few seconds, split it open and then toast it. It is sooooo much better toasted.

My favorite version is with no sweetener--then add garlic and onion powder as well as about a teaspoon or more of grated parm. You can get really creative with these and make all kinds of things--some people even make them chocolate.

Enjoy!

menu for today. bf- bacon (3), decaf coffee w/ cream
l- beef hotdog, salad w/ ranch dsg
d- hamburger patty, lettuce, tomato slice, onion, mock potato salad, strawberries w/ whipped cream

macros look like this- 1808 cals, 167.3fats, 19.6 carbs, 33.5 protein ouch that is low isn't it.

One thing I noticed is I didn't account for fiber on the food I ate last night. I have to go and plan for tomorrow. Let me know what you think about today.

I think since you were not able to follow the original plan--you did great for having to put it together on the run! Definitely bring that protein up some. If you can keep it around 60 that is great, but try not to go over 75. Fat is getting there and carbs look fine. A couple hundred more cals and some protein and you will be there!

So--how did you feel today? Hungry? Deprived? Craving? Weak? Headaches? Moody? Anything unusal? All of those things are as important to consider as the macros and if anything doesn't feel right at any point this week we definitely want to change some things around.
