Seems I am always starting over.

Well I am back again and starting over one more time. Seems like that is all I get accomplished is starting over. I have gained some weight since I was here last.

I have searched for support from every direction and realized that I never find more motivation and support than on here. So I thought I would try again.

I am not doing a low carb thing right now. My goals are to focus on portions and try to keep strong in conviction.

The plan right now is:::

BF- 1/2 protein serving
1 fruit or veggie serving
1 whole grain serving

Snack- 1/2 fruit
1/2 protein serving

Lunch- 1 protein serving
1-fruit or veggie serving
1 whole grain

Snack- 1/2 fruit
1/2 protein serving

Dinner- 1 protein serving
1-2 veggie or fruit serving
1 whole grain serving

extras- up to 200 cals.

Trying to add exercise in everyday, not doing so well right now.

Hey to everyone who is interested.

Good Morning everyone. I did really well yesterday. I feel better today other than this cold I am trying to fight off.

I have had a lot going on lately, no time to delve in to that right now but things are going to start looking up and I am excited about starting my new year. No resolutions just good clean eating and the rest will come.

Have a great day all.

Go Jen Go!! The only "failure" is to give-up.
I'm PROUD of YOU for going after it again!

SUGGESTION 1: "taper" your grain carbs throughout the day.

MEANING: eat your grain carbs at breakfast or lunch or pre-workout.
keep dinner to protein & veggies.
a small change like that can lead to big results!

SUGGESTION 2: make sure your grain carbs are HIGH fiber. don't fall for what it says on the label. "whole wheat" & "whole grain" are pretty meaningless and "high fiber" can be, too.

read the nutritional info and be sure you're getting as much fiber "bang for you buck" as possible; because it mitigates the carbs. and it really does all come down to carb and cals.

Oroweat Double Fiber Bread is a good choice

Happy New Year, my friend!!

Suggestion 3: I would suggest taking it easy on the Fruit...

Fruit is kinda like "God's Candy" -- it is good for us in moderation.
Sadly, today's fruit is grown to contain more sugar for marketing purposes.
And some fruit is of course lower/higher in sugar carbs than other fruit...

raspberries/blueberries/strawberries are good choices
(blackberries are higher in sugar)
bananas are a starchy not-so-good choice--a TREAT!

I would suggest no more than 1 or 2 servings of fruit per day...instead, focus on:

Protein
Good Saturated Fats (avoid transfat; hydrogenated fat; partially hydrogenated)
Lower Carb/Higher Fiber Veggies & Fruits
High Fiber Whole Grains
+ avoid HFCS like crazy!

Hey all!!! Doing great so far. Really trying NOT to focus on food as I feel that has been my major problem all along. Just doing what I know is right and forgetting about it.

Been gone toooooo long!

Wow! I have been gone too long. Seems like I don't have time to breathe lately.

I seen the Dr today and in 9 weeks I have managed to (get this) GAIN 1 pound. UGH!!! We are working on my confidence. He wanted me to go back on the low carb diet and believe in myself. So here I am ready to start again.

The believing in myself is going to be the hard part. But anyway.
Hello everybody!!!

Thanks Teresa so glad to know I can always count on you.

I have been doing this for two days now and I have been doing really well. I feel good about it and I just have to keep plugging along. I won't be officially weighing in for a couple weeks but we will see how it goes.

Hey everybody out there.

Morning Jen!

So how's it going? I know the first week tends to be the roughest. Are you following any particular plan or just general low carb?

If you need any recipes, want to chat, need support, etc., just let me know!

Wow, you are doing fantastic!! It will definitely continue---well, not at that pace unfortunately ---but as long as you keep doing the next 'right' thing, and believing that you will succeed---it will happen!

I don't know if you've heard but Sharon (Skeopple) died a couple of days ago. She has been battling cancer for quite awhile now. She fought the good fight, but it was time to surrender. I pray she is painfree and at peace.

Hope you have a good weekend.

NO I didn't know that. I hate to hear that. She will be missed.

I am still hanging in there. Down 11 now. I will be happy with 1 pound a week. That is my goal. I haven't lost anything in so long that I am happy with anything right now. Thanks for believing in me.

Good Morning.

I have been extremly lazy the last few days. Family and I went to Townsend Tn for the weekend and went to Dollywood's Splash country. I also took three days off and I have been really enjoying them. However I am back at work today. Still no doctor here so I am alone, but that is ok. It gives me time to surf the net and catch up on some things.

Still doing good. I haven't weighed in but I feel my jeans getting looser so that is good. Our sister office is having a last summer blast for lunch tomorrow. Salads all different kinds. I think I will go but watch what I have. Still feeling good about myself and I don't want to mess that up.

Hope everyone is well and having a great day!

Well I had to go over to the Dr's office to talk with my boss about some health issues today (whole other story), So I decided to weigh just to see how I am doing. I told myself that I had eaten breakfast and lunch and it was 4:30 so I didn't have high expectations. I was hoping for 1 pound.

I actually lost 3 pounds. I was exstatic. That is a total of 13 pounds since I started back on low carb.

I told the Dr and he said he was proud of me. Really makes me feel good.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day.
