Hi Bekki,

My wife and I joined the gym with our daughter and got a family membership.
I saved by paying a year and a half in advance. I have only been recently back to working out. I am waking up the muscles underneath the twelve more pounds that I need to lose. I guess it's true the last 10 or so pounds are the hardest.

I figured that starting a jounal would help me to keep on track. It is nice to have people pop in and give inspiration.

Hope you have a great weekend.

Ribs are done and they are falling off the bone. I have a faux mac&cheese casserole in the oven now. I added bacon to it so I hope it turns out.

I need to really watch what I am eating. I am going to step up the exersize and do something different every day. I thought I found a treadmill on craigs list but I can not get a hold of the poster. Very irritating!!!

Yes they are naked and so very beautiful I have to say. I even told them so. Dinner was deviled eggs, the faux mac&cheese w/bacon and the NAKED ribs, and water. OMG!!! I am in love. I hope there is left over ribs.

What did you have?

This was supper...

VanHarden.com
It's a gluten free cheese crust pizza. 3 servings per pizza, 8 carbs per serving. It's pretty good stuff. My wife is working on replicating the recipe right now. I'll let you know how it turns out. The pizza is only slod locally and is 7.50 per pizza. Kind of pricey but good.

Hi Bekki... glad you found me elsewhere.. get a journal on there for answers to you. Calories need to go way low. I used to do 400 and then 500 and lost a ton with that years ago before going lc and before I did the big gain to 320. I would like to be less than 1000 by as much as I can get. The closer to 500 the better. The scare of going into "starvation" mode is over exaggerated. Yes, we get our metabolism "setpoints" but that takes quite a long time No matterr what food plan you follow, the fact does reamin that it take 3500 calories to make a pound and reducing by that much is needed too... excelration of metabosim and altering the mechanism form carbohydrate fueld to ketogenic doesn't change the basics that the burn off is needed. This makes it better for me. When I have high fat it is best. Right now I am juggeling different things to get my system in the right frame to work for me.... if I get hungry then I eat enough to take the hunger away. It becomes easier and easier to eat far less as time goes on.

Well I am pissy this morning. I cheated last night and for no reason other than I could. It was not even on anything great. I gained 4 lbs since yesterday too.
WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!!!
I am going to go back to Wii fit every day 30-40 minutes and trade off between the 30 day shred and walking when the weather is not raining. Also I could give a crap who knows I am dieting/eating better. this includes my coworkers. I am going back to egg creams and chicken broth and a good light dinner.Oh and the daily avocado!!!!
I got bored and ate, and now I have to pull up my big girl panties and get back on track and be good.
I will try my hardest honestly. I expect a 4 lb lose this week to get rid of the cheat, this is my goal.
Low calories, low carb, high fat.

Hi Bekki,

I need to get my big girl panties on too! Do tell about the faux mac and cheese! Is the recipe on Linda Sue's site?

How is the challenge going btw? Maybe you can use it as a focus for the upcoming week.

Your ribs sound great! I don't even try to make them anymore. They NEVER fall off the bone, that's for sure, and I've tried a million different ways to do it.

I hear ya on the big girl panties. I probably won't have a loss this week, and it just stinks because it's all my fault!! Oh well, all we can do is just keep trying I guess.

Have a great week Bekki!!

JRod: did 30 minutes of step aerobics and 15 minutes boxing (on Wii Fit). I will get those off this week. I have my meals in check! We can do this together.

Monet: thanks lady, I let myself down and now I have to do the right thing and get back on the horse.

Phil: last time I checked I felt pretty good

Today I worked out inside since its rainy and windy. I was not hungry today and had to stuff food in my mouth.

menu
B: Vanilla Advantage Shake, cup of coffee
L: Chicken broth ( it was cold out and I brought a thermos to work)
D: roast w/mayo, 1/2 avocado w/mayo
S: nothing, not a darn thing Yeah for Bekki
H2O: 2 24 oz Smart Waters not including coffee and broth

I like the broth thing. I bought a thermos at a thrift store for under $1 and I put hot soup in at 5:45 am. It was still hot by 4pm and was great to drink while driving. I think I will start bringing this every few days. Low carb, low cal and hits the spot on cold yucky days.

Tomorrow I am going to visit my mom (still in the hospital) and I will wear no perfumeso she can not get mad. I am then taking my son out to dinner. He turns 21 tomorrow. I need to wake up at 2:04 am and wish him happy birthday. Wonder if he is going out drinking at midnight with his buddies now that he is "legal."
He is getting ready to move out w/ a bunch of buddies and he has not been home much in the past 3 weeks. I miss him so much but know he needs to grow up and moving out will be a great thing for him as well as me. I just miss him.
Cooking is hard with out him. I tend to over cook since he would eat dinner and then left overs for lunch. I will be going on 3 nights of roast. UGH, I like left overs but not that much.

I told you guys I applied for a new job right? It will be open until this Wednesday at midnight. Any ways I worked with the trainer today and learned to order using the hand held. Steve (the trainer) and I went to high school but ran in 2 different crowds. Any who...he and I worked together today and he handed it over and said "No better way to learn then now." He walked me through it and I got it!! nI really got it and wrote a damn great order!!! As I wrote my own orders, we talked alot but I was afraid to ask what chance I had at the position. Keep those fingers crossed. I wont know for 3-4 weeks.

I hope everyone had a nice monday and dont forget to wear green tomorrow...or you will get pinched. Heck I will give you a free goose just because I can!

hi Bekki so who needs a reason to go off plan? Not me! Sh*t happens and we move on. You may want to up your water a lot. The more you drink the more you will lose. I do 120-140 oz on any given day. Haven't seen you on the other place.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Awww honey, I am sorry you WERE down in the dumps, but, as usual, you turned it around

I am liking all the advice Cricket is sharing...why would you force yourself to eat if you aren't hungry? I am in transition with my WOE as well...not digging the ZC so much.

Lots of love and hugs my friend!

Wearing green everyone, or just wanting to get goosed?

I think I will take my chances today since I have no green shirts, and I could use a goose every now and then.

Any who...happy St.Patricks day. Have a great day. Check on you all later, its off to work for me.

Sad news!!!
I picked my son up for dinner, and visit to Charlie ( thats what he has always called my mom and his grandma, not sure why although all the kids call her that, he was the 1st born and it stuck with every one. Her name is Neva.). We had a great time although she swore I had perfume on and I promise I did not. My dad thinks its the smell she remembers and relates to me but she bought it for me.
Thats not the sad part.
We had dinner at Outback Steak house. I had salad and prime rib and water. He had a beer, 2 shots and the same I had. He said he was disappointed I would not have a drink with him but that I looked great. I have only seen him 4x in 3 weeks for a few hours.
I told him that Papa (grandpa) was cleaning house and had alot for him when he moved out like towels, pans, dishes, silverware and that Papa would hold on to it for a few months until he needed them ....no hurry. DS1 told me it may be this weekend. One of his friends is moving out and may be tonight and then he is planning on moving in. I felt like I was punched in the gut!!!I had him when I was still a teenager, he is my life. I know he needs to move out and he is a man now but I miss him so much.
He asked if we could plan a night every week that he can come over for dinner and bring some buddies? Of course..... so he picked Sundays. His buddies have always been over hanging out and helping me when needed for the past 7 years.
When I got home he called to say he forgot something. I figured he left something in my car so I called him back. When I called him back he said"I forgot to tell you that you are an amazing mom!!!" All I could do was allow the tears to fall. I told him to be safe and that I loved him and if he needed a ride tonight to call after drinking.
I am so sad.But I am so proud.I did good, now is the hard part of really letting him grow up.
