good to see you are still hanging in there. Good luck with the treatments.

I would suggest you make the move to OWL and the first rung of the carb ladder and squat there adding 5 more net grams of carbs from those yummy induction veggies. this will give you more antioxidents, more vits, and minerals and more as yet undiscovered healthy things to help you with your recovery.

It has been crazy cold and windy here the last two days, but it's supposed to be back up to the mid 60's by the weekend. That's life in northwest Tennessee.

We have limbs stacked up higher than 4-wheel drive trucks, but everyone is managing. They say we haven't had a storm like this in over a 100 years. We still have lots of people without power, but everyone seems to be managing well and in pretty good spirits considering.

A family friend's health took a turn for the worse the first day of the storm and he passed away at the hospital in Memphis. His funeral is today and my brother is a pall bearer. I'm here at our store until he gets back and then, it's back to the Welcome Center which is my 3rd job. As Amyb would say "lmbo!"

A good friend of mine is the city treasurer and she and her sister own a local dining room. They have been feeding a lot of the electrical workers and she is bringing me chicken 'n dumplins' and cornbread for lunch. Of course, it's low carb -- NOT, but remember we have been through a crisis. LOL

Hope you are all high and dry -- and especially, warm!

Well, good afternoon everyone. It's afternoon here, though Gran, I'm thinking you are still sipping your morning coffee Great to see you, too. I've been thinking about you. Was going to call you the other day but couldn't find your durned number. Now I don't remember what was so gosh awful important.

Rebel, glad you are faring well. Chicken and Dumplin's? Southern style? Tasty I'm sure Cleo could fix us up a great low carb version. Sounds delish, btw. Sorry to hear about your friend. It always stands me in awe when I realize the business of living and dying just go right on, regardless of the gales that blow around us (literally, in your case!).

2Big - Haven't seen you in awhile.

Linda, you aren't a busy body! You just have been awol or something. I think she is talking about her chemo treatments and she has a yucky operation coming up this week. We need to all check in and be sure and pray for our Miss Amy on Thursday.

As for me, I've had a terrible time getting back on plan. I had gone 21 days cheat free and now I'm struggling. I'm going to settle in to low carb more like Dana C's way. I'm tired of stressing about every single thing I eat or am going to eat and then getting so frustrated that I just eat whatever fits in my hand, if you know what I mean. Like today for lunch. I made a salad, broke up a jalapeno hamburger and added it to the top. Throw in a slice of cheese, cut up, a Roma tomato and some Paul Newmann Ranch Dressing. I didn't measure my lettuce. I feel like I have a real rebellion going on here - lol!

Hi M2E!! I sent you a pm.....!
I can relate to your food issues. I try to take the thinking about food part out of my day by being totally prepared. If I can open the fridge and grab on plan stuff then I'm ok. We will get this figured out!

I feel so guilty with all the bad weather you all are having and it's actually hot here today! We are getting a storm with possibly 3 inches of rain starting on Friday....I hope it does not go Rebel's way after us!!!

Sorry about your friend Rebel...

Hi Linda and Vicky! I did not go to your blog today Vicky....my boss is still laughing at me for crying at my computer when I read there yesterday! I'll check it at home! LOL!

Hi 2big! I'm reading with interest all your advise to Amy...I'm learning too. Getting to OWL is my biggest problem!

Hi Amy!!! I answered your email last night and added some more this morning...I thought you might like some light reading while you wait for your doc's! I hope and pray today was a good day!!!

Linda, I'm in the same boat. I went back to read, but I still don't find anything about an operation.

Anyway, Amy, you know you are in my thoughts and prayers always.

Hey Gang...I removed my most recent blog post for now. My sons don't know I have a blog and, as someone pointed out, they might not be comfortable with others seeing those e-mails. I saved it and I might re-post it if I decide to tell them I have a blog and see if they mind their e-mails to me being shared.

Have a great night everyone

Hey! Where is everybody? You're acting like the biggest ice storm in 100 years hit your town and you have limbs piled up on every street.

Come out, come out, wherever you are. We're supposed to be keeping this entertaining for Amy. She can outdo us on pain meds. lol

We have had more rain this weekend than all year so far! How are you doing?? Did you get the trees cleared or do you have to wait for warm weather?

Nothing interesting going on here....watching the rain....oh! I did get to play with all 3 gkids today!! That was wonderful! No work = no school = I get the kids!!! Yippee!!!

We had to take down about six pretty good-sized trees. The were broken in half plus one tree was already dead, so we just took it down, too. It's pretty sad, but better than getting a limb on my head. The one huge tree by the drive that demolished the dog pens and the carport was cracked down the middle. The guy said we were lucky it didn't split and fall on our house or the little house behind it.

We don't have hail yet, but we are expecting some really bad storms and wind gusts up to 40 miles an hour. Everyone has their limbs and tree cuttings piled up by the road in their front yard. I hope a tornado doesn't pick that stuff up and hurl it. I'll keep you informed of the progress. As Amyb would say -- "LMBO!"
