I don't know how to tell you that it doesn't matter what they say or think, because being a mom - one who also raised a son while mired in her own doodoo - one trying to do it different with son #2 and only fairing so-so - being a mom I don't know how to turn off that part that cares deeply what our children think of us. What I CAN tell you is that you have been forgiven by the one that ultimately matters. You have done your part. You're done your best to make restitution to your children. Unfortunately we can't turn back the clocks. All we can do is pray that their hearts will be softened towards us and they will realize that they aren't perfect parents either. But you've done your part. If they aren't able or willing to do their part, that becomes THEIR battle with the Lord. You've fought yours already and He has won. I pray they will surrender their right to hold a grudge to Him as well.

I hope they DO read it, for your sake. And if they try to say something else insensitive, I hope the Holy Spirit will bind their fingers and their mouths.

It started last Tuesday. Our town looks like a diaster area. We just got our power back on yesterday. It demolished our car garage and our dogs' pen outside, so Rebel (a Brittany spaniel) has been sleeping between us for about a week along with Happy (part Pomeranian and Spitz maybe) and a couple of cats. It was definitely a bonding experience. At least no one has died here, but we have months and months of cleanup and our little town will never look the same again. I live in a really old part of town with 100 year old trees. They are mostly all gone.

I feel for you, during the big ice storm years ago we lost power for 8 days with temps below zero, so I know what you went though but we never had a tree crash a part of the house

We're fine. Thanks for asking! I have washed a ton of clothes. We had to downsize our dog pen until we can get new ones. Oh, and our metal garage looks like a sardine can. The good thing is, I know where I can get you some firewood really cheap!

Vickie.....I just had to explain to my boss why I'm sitting at my computer crying.....I read your blog! Oh thank God that you know His grace and love has covered you!!! You are the person you are today because of your life. The biggest lesson I learned is that you can't "should" on your self!!! You can't say that I should have done this or that or I should not have done this or that....it's past! You can't change it! No one can! You are quite a woman!

Rebel....I hope you stay dry and warm! I'm sorry you are having such a horrible winter....all those trees gone....your town will have a different look come spring. I'm glad you are ok!!

Atkins...
2big....I am taking your advice and it is working. I am doing clear cut Atkins...and thoughts of KK seem to be not a issue. Scale is moving...some days slow but moving....
When I hit the 140's and recover from my next operation I plan to move up the ladder to next stage. I have never done that...so I am going to read the book again and I know I will be asking you some advice. I am surprised at hos satisfied I am with the added fats. I did not know how much I missed them on KK.
I am amazed at how much more in control I feel with my foods and my self control on atkins.
Thanks for the great support in my journal. It means a lot to me. You do not give up easily and that is what I needed.

Well I'm shopping in our favorite grocery stores...both of them!! The one with the pay toilet and the one with the liquor department!! LOL!!! I know you know the one's I mean!!! Yes you do!! LOL!!!
So am I being good? Heck no! LOL!!! In your honor I go for a nice afternoon drive often! I look at houses for sale and one's you might want to rent for an extended vacation or medical trip! I have picked the perfect location for you to do just that!!! It's only 8 minutes from me so we can get together every day for tea and stroll through the neighborhood! OK?

Hey Amy!!! I'm so glad you checked in. Thanks so much for your sweet comment on my blog! As is usually the case when these things happen, God is continuing to show me things and correct my thinking about certain things...and of course I'll have to blog about it as well!

You're doing so good staying on plan....good for you!!! Me?...I'm not on plan at all recently. I am really thinking that I need to just bite the bullet and go back on Atkins as it's the only plan I've ever been able to do long term...but today isn't going to be the day...

You and your family continue to be in my prayers...I pray for you all as God brings you to my mind.
