Today's Weight
I've forgotten, but it was less than yesterday's weight. 162? 161.5? Hmm...maybe 161...that sounds more right...kind of.

Tuesday, March 8

Started Armour, Nystatin and progesterone.
Re-started Atkins, but I ate some grapes w/o thinking and some bean dip. Oh well; it was better than candy bars!

Weight was 168.

Today's weight
167

Yesterday I ate:
breakfast
bacon
snacks
lots of coffee and tea w/ Splenda and TONS of liquid HWC
a couple of pieces of bacon
smoked almonds
dinner
a triangle of soft cream cheese
a sausage
late dinner
jalapeno slices w/ cream cheese and bacon
plate of pepperoni slices w/ cream cheese

I was SO hungry at bedtime--probably because HWC isn't actually FOOD and I needed food not just liquid fats.

haven't been to a mongolian grill in forever. loved it when we went.

DP, its super easy to figure out what to eat there. at least at the ones I've been too. you go through putting whatever meat and veggies you want on your plate (raw) then you get to the end of the line and put whatever sauces you want then hand it to a cook to cook on a great big grill for you. you watch them cook it then they hand it back to you to take to the table. eat...repeat .

could easily eat low carb or low fat or however you wanted.

don't know how good it is but a mongolian house came up in jacksonville, nc when I did a search for there. didn't check for buffalo.

they are known as mongolian grills or mongolian bbq's typically, I think.

broccoli drenched in butter
broccoli and bell peppers w/ tons of ranch made w/ sour cream

most of the day, tea w/ Splenda and lots of HWC

TODAY'S WEIGHT

It's working! Yay!

I am pretty sure that I was gaining weight because my thyroid meds weren't optimized. Even when not eating lc, I shouldn't gain weight if I'm not pigging out, so that leads me to think that it's my thyroid. It will be nice to get that regulated. Not just for weightloss--dry skin, losing hair, slow hair growth, tired, cold, etc.

I thought that my weight was going back down, but it's still up there.

Going to cut dairy from my diet because I don't feel good, and maybe it will help me lose weight, too. I don't know. I'll feel better, either way. Going to drink more water, too. That always helps me, but I haven't been drinking much.

CHALLENGE
1. No dairy until after Easter. If I go out to eat, I'm not going to worry about it if it's an ingredient that I can't easily avoid. I won't order a cheeseburger w/o bun, though! I will try to avoid it, but won't make myself nuts about it.

2. Drink 13 cups water/day.

I didn't do my own challenge, but NOW I'm going to do it.

I had popcorn almost everyday this week, and my weight was 167.5 this morning. DH pointed out my stomach roll yesterday...it wasn't there in December. (He wasn't being mean--it was funny.) I want to get this 13 lbs back off so that I can work on getting even more off!

So...lowcarb, more water, no dairy, no popcorn until after Easter. I need to not eat popcorn ever because that is THE thing that usually throws me off my intended WOE.

Isn't that weird? I assumed that it doesn't happen to many other people, yet I know one!

I DID IT! I made it through one day of lc w/o dairy products!

Technically, I DID have some milk products, but it wasn't like I added them to my food and I'm not counting them because this is more of a matter of mentally avoiding them. In a few days, it will be about health more than it is right now. Here's why I DID have some but don't count it:

1. We decided at the last minute to go to the theater. We hadn't yet had lunch, so I grabbed an Atkins bar. I don't like them, and I almost never eat them, but I wanted to ensure that I didn't get so hungry that I gave in and had popcorn and candy. Since any dairy in the bar is likely a small amount, it didn't taste like dairy, and I don't plan to eat another one, it FEELS like I didn't have any dairy in eating it. Yes, this thinking wouldn't fly if I were trying to do an elimination diet for allergy purposes, since I DID actually eat some dairy, but like I said, my purposes are to first break a habit, THEN to be more concerned about trace amounts.

2. Evening plans got switched at the last minute and I didn't have time for dinner--after having only an Atkins bar for dinner. I ate 2 pieces of previously cooked bacon, and half of a Costco Polish dog that had been fried w/ cheese. I pulled off all of the cheese that I easily and quickly could. What was left was burned to the dog, so it didn't seem like cheese, either.
