I thought that I had more for breakfast than sausages. I had some coconut oil, too.

I don't know what's going on, but I'm glad that it has gone down during the past couple of days. Maybe I just needed to eat a bunch of carbs to freak out my body.

My thyroid med was changed 4 weeks ago, and my weight went from 156 to 162.5! I got it changed back (liothyronine...we left the levothyroxine at a lower dose). Today my weight is 156! *happy dance*

155 this morning! Lowest yet!! And I ate a TON of theater popcorn last night, a Snickers, and a Lindor truffle ball.

Weight went back to 160! So, I'm getting serious, again. Eating popcorn off and on and a box of seashell chocolates WHILE lowcarbing isn't a good idea for my weight! Plus, I've been drinking very little water.

My challenge, started yesterday:

Stick to WOE w/ no dairy and no AS until Dec 20, maybe on Dec 21, then again until Christmas Eve.
Try to drink 13-16 cups water/day
I would like to weigh 150 by Christmas, but since I don't know how to control my weight, I'll just see what happens.

I think that Truvia is giving me migraines. The kids get to eat the rest of the coconut finger jello--more than a pan of it! WAH! I think that I'll buy some organic erythritol to make some coconut bark for myself. YUM!

I had pizza toppings for dinner last night. It's funny that I lose weight so easily when the fat content of my diet is so high and the carb count is so very low. I know that I decided to stay away from dairy since I'm allergic to it, but I'm wondering what would happen if I lived on coffee w/ HWC, pizza toppings, bacon and pork rinds for a couple of weeks. I think that I might lose 6-10 lbs.

Thanks for the compliment! It took awhile, but I found what works for me. Plus, getting on T3 medicine for my thyroid helped a ton, I think.

Yeah, I like Asian foods.

Thanks for the encouragement!

I just realized that I put Pad See Ew on the list...that's for the kids. It's a Thai rice noodle dish.

I make pho w/ shirataki. It's a Vietnamese noodle dish, but I make it w/ a Japanese twist. Here are a couple of pictures of my version of it:

Miso soup and sunomono, both Japanese:

Panang pork is a Thai curry dish:

YUM! Now I'm hungry!

Wow, wow and WOW!!!

These dishes are so making my mouth water and are just beautiful. May I please come over to join you for supper - tonight, tomorrow and the next day too?
I love the way you use very small amounts of such a variety of things and the colors are so appealing.

How about sharing these recipes when you have time to breathe?

Thanks so much for sharing with us.

Well, it started when I was 15 and started cooking often. Besides using a Betty Crocker Chinese cookbook, which explained a lot about HOW to cook Chinese food, I read Time Life's Foods of the World Series of cookbooks, learning culture and how it affected their foods. This exposed me to a wide variety of flavors and cooking methods, and showed me how to adjust recipes in a way that allowed them to still have a flavor reminiscent of the country of origin, or how to combine ingredients in a pleasing manner.

Plus, I've been to Japan, Ukraine, Russia, Holland, Germany, Italy, France...so I have exposure to a lot of cuisines. And living in the Pacific NW, there are oodles of Asian restaurants around. And I grew up in a town w/ lots of Scandinavians, and lived in a town w/ lots of people from Latin America.

I make up most of my recipes as I go along, but they're based upon real recipes. I just don't like to get out the cookbook to follow them, usually.

You might be from Seattle if you...

18. Know what Lutefisk is.
24. Know the difference between Chinook, Coho, and Sockeye Salmon.
28. Can tell the difference between Japanese, Chinese, and Thai food.

Weight change

I was 154. In December, I wasn't trying to lose weight--not sure why, but I wasn't--and I wanted to eat candies and such, so I decided to go off lowcarb. I do NOT recommend this to anyone because I know where it can lead.

My weight went to 161.5, which is about what I had expected.

In January, I ate sushi 3 days in a row and my weight went to 165.5! I'm still now sure why sushi did that to me.

I restarted Atkins '72 this week. Here are my stats:

Wednesday, Jan. 26, start date.
Friday, Jan. 28 162.5
Saturday, Jan. 29 160.5

Yay! Down 5 pounds in 3 days!

This has NEVER happened to me! I don't know if it's because of my T3 thyroid medication (making things work for me like they do for normal people) or if it's all just water weight, or if it's a combination of the 2, or something else. But I'm very happy about it!

Now, to make myself pick the rice off the sushi today when I go eat w/ an acquaintance. I don't mind doing that w/ friends, because I know that I won't embarrass them, but I hardly know this person. I guess that I'll just let her know why I'm doing it. An idea that should've been obvious, eh?!

Saturday, went to sushi and forgot to take the rice off!

Going to sushi again, tonight, and DH bought me a slice of Godiva chocolate cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. I haven't yet decided what I'll do about the cheesecake, but I am planning to take the rice off my sushi.

Stews, that would've been a good idea! Thanks!

I went to sushi and ate the rice, too, then decided to eat the cheesecake. I ate half of it. I think that I did that because the dr whom I saw wants me to eat differently, and I just kind of thought...well, I'm not going to lose any weight, anyway, so I might as well eat the cheesecake since DH bought it for me.

***
So...new WOE that I'm not happy about, but I'm going to do:

70-75 gr protein/day
lots of vegetables, esp w/ fiber
NOT low-fat (which is fine w/ me!)

30 min walking/day
read The Mood Cure but don't self-prescribe
quit taking 5-HTP--it doesn't go w/ what my dr has me taking

If I were at goal, I'd be completely happy w/ this WOE, because it's the way that I have planned to eat at that point. Just not NOW. Maybe it will help my hormones, but I don't know that it will.

Now I'm talking myself out of it.

Hmm...tine to feel sleepy, based upon when I took my thyroid medication, and I DO! But it's also time to feel sleepy if my protein drink is going to make me sleepy. I'll have to time that differently, next time.
