On Day 2 of my challenge. So far, I'm doing it! I DID have soy milk in my SF decaf mocha this morning, but I'm not allergic to it, and I think that my body does OK w/ teeny amounts of sugars now.

I think.

Went out for Indian food last night.

I didn't have raita (made from yogurt).
I didn't have chai (milk).
But I think that one of the chicken dishes had cream or butter in it. Oops!

On the way home we stopped to buy some basil so that I can make Insalata Caprese. Just realized that has milk in it, so I'm not sure if I'm going to eat it or not. It's really good...but I'm already feeling kind of sick...but it's really good...

Might as well list my annoying weights.

Yesterday's weight
173.5

Today's weight
172.5

Want to get back to the 160s. Must rid myself of my extra water weight...I'm poofy!

fresh mozzarella
good tomatoes
fresh basil
extra virgin olive oil
freshly ground pepper
salt (usually sea salt, but I don't know if it really makes a difference. Just feels like it! )

Usually I alternate the mozzarella and tomatoes like this:

http://static.open.salon.com/files/i...1245763872.jpg

then I sprinkle chopped basil and capers over it, pour olive oil on it, and salt and pepper.

Last night, I had little tomatoes, so I cut the mozzarella small and make it into a salad. It was so good!

I bought everything except capers. I don't know if I like them or not, lol.

I think I may do it in salad form, though even though I have large enough tomatoes to slice.

how much olive oil do you use? (just an idea).

Yes, you like capers. They taste kind of like salty pickled ...blobs of mustardy-flavored...things. And I don't like mustard, and I like capers, so...

I use enough oil to make sure that everything has oil on it, but isn't dripping like crazy. I know that's not a great description. Sorry!

My challenge didn't last very long because I had mozzarella yesterday and this morning. I'm staying away from other foods to which I'm allergic, though!

TODAY'S WEIGHT
171.5

Hmm...I have been eating onplan (but still ate dairy a couple of times) for 6 days, and I'm only down 2 lbs. Since I KNOW that I gained 5 lbs of water retention, that's not good. I haven't been drinking as much water as I need. I guess that I'll start there. I also haven't been counting carbs...just kind of going along. Oh, and on Tuesday, my spinach salad had dried cranberries and restaurant dressing--probably was a gazillion carbs right there! Last night I had a Ram Wedge Salad which has candied pecans, and a few french fries--well, 2 1/2...almost a few, but more than a couple.

TODAY'S FOOD
breakfast
bacon

lunch
salad of pepperoni, black olives, olive oil, celery?, basil

snacks
pepperoni
celery w/ almond or macadamia butter

dinner
deep-fried chicken (Japanese...I always forget the name)
spinach salad

Hmm...might still be too many carbs.

Planned changed already. I'm having pepperoni and bacon for breakfast. I didn't want to wait for the bacon to cook--I'm hungry!

one thought, Wendy. if you have been having a lot of processed foods like pepperoni that could be what is slowing the loss (if you feel it should be more than it is.) You may be still retaining water from the sodium in those foods even though on plan... mostly.

Yeah, you're right. Thanks for the reminder. I know that I need to drink about twice as much water as I have been to not retain water. Oops!

I just bought a pair of size 12 shorts that fit! They're a little on the tight side, but when losing weight, that's OK w/ me.

size 14--waists frequently fit, rest is too big
size 12--waist is usually too tight, rest fits
size 15--waist is too loose, rest fits

I need my own size, apparently.

I just returned a size 14 dress that I bought in April--it's too loose now! *happy dance*

I want some potato chips. I almost bought some at Cash 'n' Carry, but they weren't gluten-free. I hadn't QUITE decided to ignore the carbs, but I wasn't sure. I didn't have to decide, in the end.

But now I want some, again! Maybe I'll make some microwave pork rinds. Yum!
