Well I was sort of kidding but I ate something different tonight anyway

I need to boil some eggs, I'm out. That was random I guess. I went and tried on some more clothes in my closet. Some of my skirts JUST ABOUT fit. I figure about 5 more pounds (145 maybe) I"ll be able to get into the majority of them and the pants too. Oh and I went to Penney's after the bone scan and one of the skirts I tried on was a size 6 and it FIT! Vanity sizing at it's best but still it was very fun! I almost bought it just because it was a size 6

Anyway, trying on clothes in my closet really helped me figure out where I want to be again to wear the clothes I want to wear. I think 140 will be good if I can get there. We'll see anyway.

I thought that you were kidding, but it makes sense that it really COULD work, huh? Unless...do our bodies get used to the same foods and just go, "Eh, I've had this so often that I'm not going to do anything"?

I need to boil some eggs, I'm out. That was random I guess.

I tried to eat a custard this morning. Just about threw up. Don't like eggs, and sometimes...well...I just don't want one! But enjoy yours!!

I THINK that your gyno could do it. You might want to take a list of tests that you want:
Free T3
Free T4
um...nonstickpam has posted lists. I don't remember what to get other than those.

TODAY'S WEIGHT

178

Those bananas and potatoes while I was sick got me back to 179.5, and I've been slowly basically coming down from there. Might go faster if I were to count carbs and not eat a few potato chips/day. No chips today, though! I have new resolve, and I bought pork rinds.

Yes I have a copy of what I should get. I'll tell the gyno I have fatigue and maybe she'll do it. I wonder if it would be cheaper getting it through that website that nonstickpam lists though. I checked and it is $85.

Do you usually have to pay for very much for your labwork?

Right now I'm eating landjäger, roasted bell peppers, basil and sun dried tomatoes. Yum! It's almost like those appetizers that are here on lcf. Not quite the same because I couldn't open the marinated artichoke hearts.

Bleck!

Going to call the Indian restaurant where we ate on Tuesday to ensure that what I ate didn't have gluten--almost completely positive that it didn't. Since then, I have had constipation, extended stomach, intestinal pain, and am trying to not get/trying to get? pink eye. I am assuming that it was the milk, because I KNOW that I had milk that night, but want to rule out gluten, just in case.

Water retention today is crazy! I looked like a shar pei this morning!

Oh, and yes, I DO have pink eye. It has just taken a couple of days of getting worse for me to go from the "trying to get it" stage into the "yep, I have it" stage. I'm glad that I still have some medicine!

Well then good came out of it! That's the main thing! We live and learn Wendy, so you learned a hard lesson but you LEARNED! I can't tell you how many hard lessons in eating along the way I have learned. They all add up to VICTORY though if you just take them and do better!

I was 149 this morning and I went to Target and tried on the cutest skirt in a size 6 and it fit perfect!!! That's 2 size 6s even though I KNOW they are extremely vanitized. I didn't buy it because it was kind of too short to wear to church. I need to sew again.

They are not "like" a drug, they are in fact a recreational mood altering drug for me to which I have developed a long term addiction. The only way I can avoid carb creep or a full blown relapse is to strictly avoid all but the most metabolically insignificant amount of dietary carbs.

The amount of sugar in your blood at any time is about a teaspoon or less. As long as I have that few of carbs in my meal, I am probably safe. Any more might trigger me.

OK, it might not, but how can I risk that? If I eat to be polite I might recover from the relapse six months later as they amputate my foot from the T2 Diabetes! I can't go there just to make Grandma slightly pleased for one day...
I don't know about the amt of sugar in the blood, but the 1st paragraph has been me since I got the flu.

I REALLY ate bananas and potatoes because of needing something that would help me to get well, and needed something that would digest easily. My stomach and intestines hurt! Since I knew how hard it has been for me in the past to get back onplan, I thought that I'd be able to MAKE myself do it w/ determination.

BUT...I have not been staying on plan since then. There might have been some days (I am pretty sure that there have been!) but most days, I've had a bite of chips, or something that is offplan for me. NOW I'm eating berries w/ chocolate chips, frosting, chips, peas, ranch dressing... I am a mess!

I wanted to go shopping on Monday, but I'll likely be too bloated to be able to do it! I don't feel well. Blah, blah, blah...there is reason after reason to stay away from these things, but it seems to keep going back to carb addiction. How does a person w/ that limit carbs? How is this possible? Or is it even possible?

I used to be able to eat to moderation--if I really wanted to do it. OTOH, I have thought back to the times in my life during which I was thin or even skinny, and I was always hungry! It seems that something is wrong if a person has to be hungry to stay thin! (IMO, of course!)

Not sure that I have any final answers. I'm wondering about learning more about carb addiction and not feeling full, and seeing if they're tied together. Or even if they aren't, what can I do about these 2 things? I'd really like to NOT live the rest of my life eating only meats, fats, and a couple of cups of low-glycemic vegetables/day. I want to be able to eat higher-glycemic foods (if they don't affect my blood sugar adversely) and/or at the very least to be able to eat lots of low-glycemic vegetables. I'd like to be able to have some berries w/o feeling like I'm going to go on a carb binge! This seems crazy and unreal!

That's all for tonight. Just some thoughts that I was having this evening.

Chewie's Hot Beef Dip

Per Chewie: This dip is delicious.

Hot beef dip

1 jar dried beef(2.75 oz)-chopped fine
8 oz cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
2 Tablespoons chopped onion
2 Tablespoons chopped green pepper
3 Tablespoons heavy cream
bunch of black pepper

Mix all together, bake for 25 minutes at 350. I used to put this in a bread bowl and serve with the bread pieces but today we're using crackers and celery.

Wendy I have not really mentioned it much before but what that person wrote is ME. I don't think everyone has to limit their carbs so severely but I am definitely one of them. I was like you, thought I could never spend the rest of my life like that so after 4 years or so of LC, decided I was sick of it. Well I ended up gaining all of my weight back and being miserable. Yes I could eat what I wanted but it wasn't worth it pure simple. I would have periods of doing okay on low-calorie or portion control but never really lost much weight on it and always would gain it back. I decided then that LC was really the only way I am ever going to get the weight back off and keep it off. I am not saying this is the answer for YOU just telling you my experience. There are others that seem to able to control the sugar. I cannot. Now that I have faced that it makes it easier somehow. It's okay. It's just me. I have a choice, I can limit the sugar a LOT or I can be fat. I choose to be healthy and just limit the sugar. I still enjoy life. I still eat things I want. I try to remember how I felt fat and unhealthy and it's not hard! I don't want to live like that.
