Just started reading the chapter I am supposed to! WOW! Now I want to stay up and read more but if I do I will be too tired in the morning, which is probably why I need to read that chapter! Okay, will read at lunch and after work tomorrow. For now goodnight!

I started reading about Tyrosine and I remembered I have some but never really knew how to take it. I got it at Vitamin World from a guy that recommended that with 2 other things for weight loss and I bought it but never really took much. I am excited! Everything for that category is ME especially since the M onset. I already took 2 this morning like it said and I am very anxious to see if it makes a difference! Can I ask you which category you are in?
I definitely have some of the symptoms of low thyroid if this doesn't help much so I'll probably need to explore that further. My reading is in fact "borderline" and definitely low compared to the guidelines nonstickpam suggests.

Yay! I'm happy that you might have found something to help you!

I'm in categories 1, 2, and 3, and borderline 4.

I don't know yet really BUT it SEEMS that I have more ability to focus and am more alert this morning from the tyrosine. Could it be? I am afraid to be happy yet! The only thing I am watching is that I could be allergic to it. I read about it online and it said there is a good chance that someone with allergies could be. I am allergic to the melatonin sooooooooooooo I had some slight asthma this morning hope it's a coincidence.

Wow all of those! I have the depression/anxiety but it is mostly controlled by my prescription AD so I didn't count that. Mostly I have the blahs. I can remember having a LOT of those symptoms almost my whole life though. The dep/anx also but got under control when I began the AD treatment about 20 years ago.

Ooo, that would be great if it helps, and if it's helping already!

I'm feeling a lot better. Still have a runny nose, coughing sometimes, and wish that I were sleeping, but other than that...

Yeah, I have a lot of things going on. If what the ND gave me doesn't start to help soon (he said to talk to him in 4 weeks), then I think that I'll switch to the recommendations in the book--probably.

Things didn't go away for me w/ AD when I was on them. I was better, but not well. Plus, they took away the happy feelings. Not feeling depressed all the time is nice, but missing out on feeling happy, love, etc. isn't good, either, for me.

Oh I agree! I have never lost that part! And for many years I was "normal" I guess you would say, just less extremely depressed which is what it SHOULD do. My depression goes back to childhood though and it's in the family bigtime on my Mom's side so I am sure it's a chemical imbalance.

Yes so far, I haven't taken a nap and didn't really even want to when I got home which is VERY unusual so I am contributing that to the l-tyrosine! I'll see what tomorrow brings! Yes I agree with you on not giving them TOO long. Chewie is getting worse it seems instead of better and I wonder if she would try another route if she might not find relief from some of the problem anyway.

I was so excited!!

DH went to lunch at The Ram and was going to bring a wedge salad home to me (Theirs are AWESOME! 1/8-1/4 head of iceberg topped w/ candied pecans, diced tomatoes, blue cheese, yummy dressing...something else) but I remembered that I couldn't have the dressing and cheese. I almost gave in to have him bring one home, anyway when I thought that I could just eat some veggies from the fridge and save the money.

I had lettuce in there!! So I made a salad of lettuce, green onions, garlic salt, freshly-ground pepper and melted bacon grease. It was pretty yummy and didn't cost almost $6!

Gooooooooooo Wendy!

You will think this is funny. They are calling me Amish at work because I said Amish people drink chamomile tea when are sick and it helps them get well. They thought this was funny.

If it was the tyrosine that made me feel so good today that I am very hopeful that I have found a good answer really quickly from that book for my tiredness and also the ADD! I can't even explain how different today was. If it was the "placebo effect" then I guess I'll find out soon but I really don't think so. Guess it could have been a coincidence too but again I doubt it. I rarely have days like this. I got a LOT done!

Thanks Wendy!!!

Hey I lost another pound finally last night. WOO!!! I thought it would never move. Why does it go up so easily and down so slooooowwwwwwwww??? Anyway, I am glad I didn't tweak yet. I think cutting down the coffee (actually what's IN the coffee) made it start going again.

Hi Sweet friends
My blood results show more thyroid issues so he is doubling up on my cytomel. I searched our library and they don't have the mood cure. I think I'm just going to buy it on half.com. My antidepressant isn't working--it seems. Every time I go to my dr, it's always me whining and I hate it. I want to feel better. I have NEVER prayed so much in my life for me and dh. This is a very crazy time for me with menopause issues and all too.

It's the generic of prozac. I was on celexa but at the highest dosage. You suggested prozac. It's 20 mg and doesn't seem to be helping.

Hair everywhere

While I had conditioner in my hair, I counted the hairs that had fallen out while shampooing. I stopped at 82. I think that there were about 20 left. So...100 hairs just while shampooing, and these are the hairs that didn't go down the drain. It looks like the pile from rinsing the conditioner from my hair was the same size.

Over 200 hairs just during a shower. The average (for the average person) is 40-150 per DAY!

You need to take some biotin. I use it and it has helped a lot. The hair loss is a symptom of thyroid problems.

Okay you have come to the right person! Never fear! 100 hairs on AVERAGE per day is perfectly normal. If you wash your hair every other day hair will stick in your hair and you will lose more depending on how long you go between washes. ALSO, there are certain seasons when we shed more hair or less. So unless it is like that every single time your wash don't worry. K? Biotin is good though.
