I have heard of that too Course it could be up tomorrow. Hope not!

Menu for today:

2 pieces of grilled catfish
double order of green beans
small salad with ranch
1.75 oz. of peanuts

One meal because I slept all day on and off and didn't eat until I took Angel to the Barrel.

Yeah I am usually good about not feeling like I HAVE to eat something but a good friend from my Bible study tonight went by the store and bought a sheet cake for my birthday. I didn't even WANT it but I felt really really guilty and ate some anyway. There were only about 6 women there at the time and only 2 others wanted cake. I would have felt awful if I hadn't had some. I wish I had read Stews answer before about getting a tiny piece and mostly pushing it around.

I forgot to mention to my dr, but mentioned to the kids' dr that I'm tired of losing weight so slowly. She said that w/ her weight loss patients, she has noticed over and over that when they eliminate allergens, they start losing weight a lot faster. Oh, that would be so nice! That is inspiring me to get the corn from my diet, too. I don't usually eat it on purpose, but it's in almost everything that's premade, and I do eat premade salad dressing and sauces, sometimes.

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy I wish I could get out of my 156.5 to 158 up and down thingie. Part is my fault admittedly.

Today's food:

2 boiled eggs with butter
1 oz. peanuts
3 weiners with Castleberry chili and mustard

I guess that's all. I bought some more groceries this afternoon, was out of SO much.

Oh and I also tasted the chili I am making for my friend from church. It's a little spicy so I hope they like it. I am also making a chocolate ooey gooey cake when I get home tomorrow. That's all I have left to do on the meal.

A little spicy is good, IMO. If it's too spicy, they can eat it with bread. So inventive, eh?

If it were 4 inches, maybe I'd buy it, but 9 inches is getting so close to goal that it might hang in my closet for a couple of years. WAH!

My mom was here on Tuesday, and I showed her this skirt. I told her that the largest size is only 3 inches bigger around than OK's waist. She asked me if OK is a size 9, and said that I should buy the skirt because I can get down there; I've done it before. It was nice to hear such encouragement from her!

OK. I've heard this many, many times here on lcf, and I don't like it. Just so you know.

I lost 70+ lbs from the fall of '94 to the fall of '96. Until this very second, I had always thought that it was 1 1/2 years, but really, it was just over 2 years. Huh. Something to contemplate, there.

...Anyway. I lost it by watching portions, cutting sugar and wheat (except pizza once/week), I did the cabbage soup diet for one week (and the weight stayed off!). When I got to where I wanted to be, which was right before getting married, I quit trying to lose weight because the dress was already altered, but I accidentally lost 6 lbs during the week before the wedding. WHY did it come off last time that easily, and NOW I'm fighting it constantly?!? Maybe I had more on my mind that time, so it seemed like it was easier. Maybe I really spent 2 years on the verge of being hungry. Hmm...

Anyway, it's annoying to me that I have to work at it this time. I want to just make smart choices and have it happen!

Yes. I limit them to no more than 1.75 oz which is a pack from the grocery store. It only comes out to like 2 carbs when you subtract the fiber. I have always used them on LC.

As for losing slower, it was like this for me the first time too really too. I am trying to remember the times I messed up though and consider that. Have you done that? I mean I did eat birthday cake two times and didn't you eat popcorn twice? On LC that can REALLY throw you off whereas other diets it might not. And I mean just set you back a bit not totally destroy it. I am not worried really, was trying to make DP feel better. And with ANY diet the last 10 pounds seem to be the hardest for a lot of people. At least I am not gaining back!

(Re: bolded sentence) Boy, that's true!

OK...so I DID eat popcorn twice. Little Miss Smarty Pants. OK, so seriously...thanks for the reminder! I think that you're right about it not affecting other diets in the same way. I had forgotten. Thanks SO much for your insight!!

Back to the beginning...

TODAY'S WEIGHT

182, again.

*****

I'm going back to strict Atkins '72. I keep doing that, but then I don't add carbs in 5 gram increments, and I'm just all over the place and don't know if things would work if I'd do them right.

For the next 7 days, I will eat ONLY meat, fat, 2 salads of 1 cup or less loosely-packed salad (lettuce w/ radishes and/or cucumbers) topped w/ oil, vinegar (NOT my yummy balsamic vinegar, just vinegar) and spices w/o additives. Tea will be tea w/o berries in it. So:

meat
oils
salad
plain tea
water
plain, decaf coffee (um...probably going to skip the coffee )

Mmm...sounds good!

Then I'll add 5 carbs and see what happens. I bookmarked the pages that tell me how to know what's going on w/ ketosis and weightloss, so I won't be bumbling along, again.

TODAY'S WEIGHT

181.5 Got below 182, again!!!

Today's fake weight
181 I got up at 7:30, weighed myself, then went back to bed. I got up for real at 9:15 and weighed, again, for the fun of it, but I don't count it as an accurate weight since I almost always weigh less the further along in the day it is (if I haven't eaten). Maybe tomorrow I'll be 181 for real. Oo, and what if I were even less?!?!?

I HAVE to figure out something to take to the get-together so that I stay on plan and have something to eat. I could eat on the way there and take a bag of chips for DH.

TODAY'S WEIGHT

180.5 *happy dance!!!!!*

New low!! By a pound!!!!!

It seems premature, since I only did 2 strict days (and yesterday, I did have more salad than I was supposed to have AND it had tomatoes and red bell peppers in it...Oh, plus I had some coconut "beverage" in my coffee last night) but I think that I want to say, "Atkins '72, I love you!"
