Good rethinking all of this Wendy! So do you mean you are allergic to cats? In what ways have you been sick mostly? Upper respiratory? Athsma? Or what?

Guess WHAT!!! I was 170.5 on Monday morning ya know? I was 166 this morning!!!!!! I know it's water but it's still motivating and a good start!!! I am going to Curves today after work, I get off at 11. Then I am going to see my little Angel.

Going to count carbs.

I was going to do a 3-day meat/fat thing, but I have some pasilla chilis in the fridge and I want to make chili rellenos. I guess that I'll just continue w/ Atkins '72 and make sure that I count my carbs so that I know what I can and can't eat.

I also am retaining SO much water! I haven't been drinking my "required" 11 cups. I think that sleeping until 10 is cutting down on too many hours during which I could be drinking water.

Landis, how are you doing?

I have definitely been eating too many carbs for my body to still lose weight. Yikes! I know that I need to count, but then I quit and think that it's OK.

Today's breakfast
1 oz almonds
chili relleno

carbs=11

That's an entire day of carbs for me, and I haven't even had any cream!

Oh, and I want sour cream w/ that, so that's another 2-4 carbs. Yikes! It adds up quickly!

I put the salad, ranch, and taco sauce back in the fridge.

I thought that I was going to have taco salad for dinner, or maybe another chili relleno. Maybe I'll have bacon for dinner.

I missed this post! I'm sorry!!

When I first learned that I have a cat allergy, I was getting strep throat, staph infections in my ears and throat, and pink eye (which was probably caused by one of the previously mentioned bacteria). We tried everything to keep the cat, but finally had to let him go live w/ my parents. I got well. Yay!

Years later, we got a cute little puppy, and I started feeling the exact same way. I went to the doctor, and she reminded me that I hadn't come back for the results of my newest allergy test. I was now also allergic to dogs.

My aunt is allergic to dogs, cats and birds. I think that I shouldn't get a bird, feather bed, feather pillow or down coat, just in case.

A lesson learned today:

TEA HAS CARBS!?!?!!?

I've been getting between 15-20 carbs from tea lately, at least. Some of the tea has berries in it, so the carb count might have been higher than that, and I like to use a lot of HWC. Add that to carbs from vegetables, sour cream, and cheeses, and I have no confusion about why I haven't been losing weight!

Today's food

roasted, seasoned hazelnuts
chili relleno w/ sour cream
1 cup strawberry paraiso tea

4 pieces bacon (too sweet...kept wanting more and more! )
1 TBSP coconut oil
2 cups green tea

bubbleless coconut bubble tea (vanilla tea, SF coconut syrup, 1/2 and 1/2, ice)

1/2 piece bacon

4 c green tea

1 TBSP coconut oil, again

9 c water, so far

I think that the bacon is really affecting me! When I was eating it earlier, I kept wanting more and more even though I wasn't hungry, so I had some coconut oil. When I had 1/2 piece later in the evening, I felt sleepy! Not good. I"m going to buy the bacon that I usually buy--Applegate Farms.

Food info/totals

Calories 1246
Fat 109 grams
Carbs 23* grams
Protein 48 grams

*Higher because of the sweet bacon.

I totally understand. I have always been allergic to cats TERRIBLY but it has gotten worse over the years even though I try not to EVER be around them or houses that have them. It's awful. I tested allergic to dogs (not nearly as much) but have never had one in the house but they don't seem to bother me at others' houses.

Well the good part is you found out and didn't just give up and say LC doesn't work like I am sure a lot of people do! One of my problems is half and half. I use it on Sundays because when I stop by to get coffee that's all they have. Also at Cracker Barrel I do that. I need to ALWAYS carry the sugar free powered flavored coffee-mate and I was but I carried the other purse to church this morning. I am sure I have had too many carbs today. Also I use too much cheese on my fajitas. I need to use about half as much. I remember these things use to stall me before so I need to watch it NOW before I get discouraged and go

Otherwise I am very happy with my 5 pound loss for the week. I just need to keep the motivation going. My appetite has decreased INCREDIBLY and that's helping a LOT. I am taking care to avoid things I KNOW will trip me up in that area so I don't have to go there but IF I mess up I have to remember not to just go ahead and throw the rest of the eggs on the floor (love that saying)

Sorry I haven't been back for a day or two. Sometimes I forget. again.

While reading this I thought that if you come out here, I'll have to clean my house REALLY well so that you can visit me here.

Well the thing is it wouldn't help. My sister has 2 cats and she already keeps her house very clean but before she knew I was coming to spend one night, she cleaned and cleaned and CLEANED and also kept the cats out of the bedroom for 2 solid months. I was there for about 2 hours before it hit me and I was totally miserable the whole night with no sleep and sick the whole next day on the trip we were going on. Also we went to Panama City in HER car where the cats hadn't been except maybe to go to the vet and the remnants on hers and my nieces clothes made me miserable the whole time we were at the beach. That's how sensitive I am to them

No that was because I was riding in the car with them and staying with them at the condo down there. There must have been dander galore in the car from the cats.

Okay I posted this on the WIT thread but I realized this morning's weight was actually a week since starting back on Atkins. I lost another 1.5 pounds so that makes 6.5 for the first week!!! *faintswithexcitement*

I am so darned excited! For me I think the menopause caused my appetite to go up so much that the ketosis is relieving that and causing me to be able to stick to it. LF or other plans don't have that appetite decrease benefit. LOVE that part!

Okay, things I have found I need to watch, not necessarily do without but just watch:

Pizza toppings (I tend to eat way too much when I eat them)
Heavy cream (doing much better on this)
Half and half (must carry my SF creamer in my purse at all times)
Cheese (it adds up especially since we go Mexican so much and I get fajitas with spicy cheese poured over it, will get it on the side from now on and pour it on myself to help cut down and when I do this I'll try to cut the cheese the rest of the day) Get it "cut the cheese the rest of the day" I kill myself

Ahem, okay on with it, Note to self, do not start adding SF candy, it makes me want more no matter how small the piece is.

I'll add more as I think of it. It helps me to write it down in your journal. Thanks for sharin' with Sharon.

I have water retention even though I drank 15 cups of clear liquids yesterday, so I came back to see if I had eaten anything salty, because I didn't remember doing it.

smoked salmon
pork rinds
soy sauce on my sushi
egg drop soup
egg foo yong w/ soy sauce-based sauce
sausage

Yeah...not much sodium intake yesterday! I'm surprised that I don't look like a big balloon!!
