Well i'm officially fuming! I spoke with the insurance company today AND got a copy of the police report.

Oh APD botched everything. We got a copy of the police report and it said that there was 1 passenger in each vehicle and an independent witness. Well, there just so happened to be 2 women in that truck! The "ind witness" claims she was driving right behind me and saw everything, BUT when the cops came there were only 2 cars at the scene, mine and the truck. And the firemen sent the two ladies who pulled me out of the car off, before the police arrived, so there's no report from them or that they even existed. And the most interesting part of it all is that the diagram shows me hitting the tail end of the van, with the truck next to the van, yet, the van drives off, i lose control and the truck gets hit by me?!? If the truck was right next to the van, how in the hell did i hit them...they should have been able to drive off just like that van did. In my opinion, if i had hit the van the way the diagram shows, the van would have spun to the left and hit the truck. None of it makes sense. Even the insurance guy thinks its fishy, but he said there's not much he can do because of the discrepancies in the police report. (He thinks the emergency teams mishandeled everything) I cannot believe that crap! They are actually getting away with this crap, and i'm getting blamed and NONE of it makes sense. How do you see me hit a van you're right next to?!?! HUH!? No ****ing sense. I'm pissed now! Pissed! This is by far the best pair of liars, I've ever met. The insurance guy told us not to get so upset because it was all covered, but how do you not get upset. I could have died. (the diagram shows me ending up in the wrong place as well). I know they want to ensure that their car get fixed, but we're talking about human lives. So now that i've ranted, I'm going to attempt to get some work done. I have my first completely solo program tomorrow.

Hey Chanty...I was in a car wreck in Oct. 2007...on my way to work and this elderly man makes a lefthand turn right in front of me (I had the green light and right-of-way)...he was in a huge, old truck, and I had nowhere to go b/c the lanes were blocked. I was in a 2 door coupe...so yea, I ended up with my car totaled b/c he, according to the police report "Didn't see me"...UM, hello?! I had the GREEN LIGHT, and you had a RED LIGHT...and if you can't see, then you sure as heck don't need to be driving! Anyways, what pissed me off the most is that the police didn't give him ANY type of ticket...nada. He broke the law, totaled my car, and ruined my life at the time. That's justice for ya.

Hope things get better! Dealing with insurance stuff is a pain in the you-know-what. I'll keep you in my prayers, dear. And congrats on doing so well w/ your weight

Funny story:

I just used binder clips on my pants to keep them up. When i put them on this morning, I knew they were a little loose. Well they were barely hanging on and i couldn't figure out how to keep them from sagging lol. So i went in our supple closet and found those binder clips and clipped my pants LOL!!!

Hey Chanty, they used binder clips on America's Next Top Model last season...Paulina gave them a challenge where they had to make big clothes fit them, as if they were modeling those clothes for a catalog, and some totally used binder clips to cinch those pants in! LOL. So that was quick thinking

Thanks bekki!

The lc bars were from carb smart. Vanilla ice cream covered in chocolate and almonds. I personally love them, although i'd be satisfied with just HALF the bar.

Girl, i don't have any secrets. I wish i did. LOL. Just doing the usual. Ready to get back on the exercise train so i can achieve that runner's body for summer. Gotta get into that bikini i bought on sale for $2. LOL

Anyway, today's quote:

I am going to search for those bars. I hope you have a great weekend. I am going to stay at my boyfriends. I am prepping myself for this hurdle. We have loved food in the past, mostly garbage and beer at our favorite pub. Wish me luck to have the will power.

Hello Journal,

Today i re-read my check me out post from when i hit Onederland. It really gave me a much needed push. I feel so proud of my successes so far, but can't help but feel worried with all the "i regained but i'm back on it" posts. I'm committed to making this a lifestyle change but i'm freaking out about carb creep. Is the carbodemon that bad? Will it be that hard to maintain? Its a scary thought. Having lost 60 pounds (from my highest), 35 of those pounds on Atkins, I'm deathly afraid that I will blow back up. I never want to see 200 again. Never. I look in the mirror and barely recognize the girl looking back at me. She so pretty, and slimmer than I ever thought possible. She has an air of confidence because she's living a healthier life. Surely this is not just her first try. Surely she can do this forever. Its a scary thing watching all of the people on these boards. We're all working toward a shared vision of better health and fitness. There are all of these beautiful people who have achieved and maintained, what an inspiration! But for those who cannot or do not. What is different? This is what i'm longing to know, so i don't fall into another vicious cycle. I want this to be my final weightloss journey. I want to maintain and be a help to those after me. That's the legacy i'd like to leave behind. So i'm in search of those answers. I'm out to learn how to make this my final battle with my food/exercise/health demons.

Ok, i'm done babbling. Its just so hard when you think i'll never be _______ and then you get there. And then you set your next goal wondering if its achievable. And then you get there. I mean, its like nothing is impossible! But then something happens and you're back where you started. I used to gain and lose the same 25 pounds over and over again. I don't want it to happen again!

Yikes, i said i'd stop babbling, so....

I agree that people like total nuts and are so reckless, I live in NJ where the auto insurance is the highest in the nation bec NJ drivers are the worst!

i agree on the worry all those carb creep posts cause... it's scary how many people fail and restart over and over again. i'm glad somebody feels the same, the possibility is a frightening thing.

we know how to live this way and we know that it works for us, so we will succeed. your posts are something i look to for inspiration (i'm right around where you started atkins), so keep it up!

Hey girl,

I sure am glad that i'm not alone in that concern. I tend to think that there has to be a difference between those who succeed and maintain and those who fall back and restart. I'm paying special attention to those maintainers to see if i can't figure out the secret.

Stolen from betty's signature:

Those who think they have not time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness. ~Edward Stanley

I chose this one today because i think exercise is the essential piece that a lot of people miss. I read a lot of weight loss related articles and i've seen many times where maintainers of weight loss HAD to continue to exercise as part of their maintenance plans. Therefore, i think its essential that i make exercise a part of my routine.

This morning i got up at six and went to the neighborhood gym. I did day 1 of my training as follows:

10 min walk
3 min jog
7 min walk
3 min jog
7 min walk

Totaling 30 mins and 1.2 miles. When i used to go to the gym i'd usually do a lot more than that, but since i'm following a scheduled program that's what i did (followed the program). Not going to lie, felt weird jogging, as that's not something i readily do. But i'm excited about this.

egg drop soup seems to be a big hit with folks around here, so i want to try it:

Egg Drop Soup
I use 4 cups of organic chicken broth
2 free-range eggs
1 TB organic apple cider vinegar

I also add 1 teaspoon organic toasted sesame oil, powdered ginger, salt, pepper and chives to make it taste like egg drop soup

Egg Drop Soup
1 medium egg
1 cup clear soup (broth, bouillon or consomme) *I suggest lowest sodium
Celery salt
Beat the egg lightly with a fork and drop into broth when at the simmering point (don't boil) in saucepan,
stirring constantly. When egg has thickened slightly, serve. Season to taste with celery salt. (90 calories)
Makes 1 serving

I also bought the fish steaks i read about on the boards yesterday. a little more nervous about trying those lol....

Lastly, i bought brussel sprouts. I have heard over and over that they are good roasted in the oven, so i will try that sometime soon.

Today, i'm going to make linda sue's mexican spinach lasagna. Going to eat this for dinner tonight and then lunches the rest of the week. I made egg salad for breakfast this week (eggs, bacon, mayo, mustard and red pepper). so i'm going to try this soup for lunch and see how that feels. I also bought some more canned crab for crab cakes, because i fell in love with those the past two days and want more LOL!!!

So there are some food things i have going on.... preparation is key, so thats what i'm working on!
