Nkechi's Birthday Countdown to 60 lbs thinner!
Okay I'm back! This time I am concentrating on my water intake and eating lots of veggies and lean proteins. I have to get this weight off! My birthday is in exactly 6 months so starting today and I want to lose 10 lbs a month.
Over the summer I hit my all time high of 257lbs! Granted most of it was water weight that I was retaining for not eating right and not taking my meds but still...It was a sad day and I knew then I was out of control. It took me some time (and a couple of false starts) to get back on track. So here I am - BEGINNING AGAIN - and I need all of the help I can get. I will be journaling my progress here. I actually officially started yesterday but I am starting my countdown now. This morning's weight: 247 (Praying to lose the first 10 easily :aprayer:) |
You can do 10 lbs a month no problem i bet!! Here's praying you can find the tenacity to attack this dirty bugger!
|
Yes I am well on my way. I started ACV last last night and I am going to try CO for lunch. So far so good. I've really been concentrating on getting my water in. I think that's the key. Now if I could only get motivated to go back to the gym...

Hello Nkechi,
I see that we both are trying to accomplish the same goal. I just started back today myself and I know what you are going thru. Please visit my journal sometime and we can support each other. Just take it day by day and meal by meal. You're right about the water, it poses a challenge for me as well, but I do better when I buy bottled water, something about it tastes better. I feel that 10lbs a month is not unrealistic. You know I went to the library and rented the Atkins 72 version of his book. Oh my God I can't believe how simple that book is to understand compared to the other versions.:kicking: When I thought about it and read the book this is sooooooooo simple, we make it hard. So let's partner together and meet these goals. |

I told her I may come to her class tomorrow. I really need to get back on the ball with exercise. Not only do I have a gym membership now that I am paying for, there is also still they mini gym at work that has treadmills. If I was a smart gal (and not lazy), I could go to the gym at work and walk at lunch time and then go to my regular gym after work. We will see... |
Nkechi--
Wow, you sound like me...I've yoyo'd for so long, but finally hit my highest weight ever this summer(except for when I was pregnant:blush:) at 258:eek: Yikes! What a wake up call! We just have to take it one day at a time and we will get there. We have to remember we can be anything we want to be! Good luck! Jen |

This morning's weight: 243 lbs.
I am so excited. My feet and ankles had started swelling when I stood for a long period of time by now they are skinny again. Now all I have to do is work on getting the rest of me to catch up! |
Congrats on the 243! That's great I still hanging below 200 and I am proud of myself. Your menu's look great! Makes me hungry.
|
This morning's weight: 243 lbs.
Yesterday's Menu Breakfast: Bacon w/Peach Tea flavored Vita Splash (fiber) Lunch: Balsamic Baked Chicken and Broccoli Dinner: Fried Bologna Salad with Greek Vinagrette Dressing and Spaghetti w/o the noodles (just the sauce and ground beef) Snack: CO w/Xylitol and Peach Tea flavored Vita Splash (fiber) I'm not feeling to great because TOM showed up early this morning and I've had major cramps all day. I've only had 2 sausage dogs and a cup of coffee so far for today. I plan on having a salad for dinner and maybe something warm to help with the cramps. Usually TOM has me eating like crazy but I haven't felt much like eating like I usual. Pray that I can keep it together. :aprayer: |

Friday's menu was thanks to a conference I attended. The food was good. I have been trying so hard to make good choices and planning what I eat. I haven't been as hungry and I think it could be that I am in ketosis. What ever it is I am greatful because it has kept me from eating everything like I usually do. |
You are doing fantastic!! Now your skinny ankles can carry you to the gym!! You'll have that first 10 gone in no time!

Thanks for the compliments ladies!
This morning's weight: 243 lbs. I know this is because of TOM :annoyed: Yesterday's Menu Brunch: 2 sausage dogs and a cup of coffee with half & half and Kaluha flavored Davinci's Snack: BBQ pork rinds with diet Dr. Pepper Dinner: 1/2 of Applebee's Grilled Chili-lime Chicken Salad with limeaide made with splenda So far so good! I usually fall off the wagon at this point so I am pleased with my progress. I've kicked up my water intake and I have been going back and forth to the bathroom all day. I had 1.5 liters this morning and I am trying to finish off my second 1.5 before I leave work. That's about 100 oz of water! Boy my kidneys should be clean! |
Still holding at 243
Yesterday's Menu Breakfast: 1.5 liters of water (I need to start eating breakfast) Lunch: KCF chicken w/o the skin and the other half of my Applebee's Grilled Chili-lime Chicken Salad Dinner: Baked Flounder and Kale I need to get in the gym. I need so motivation though. And today I started having sugar cravings. It was probably because I ordered my niece's birthday cake. :annoyed: I will resist temptation! Today's menu: Breakfast: 1.5 liters of water and Green tea w/splenda (again, I need to eat breakfast) Lunch: Steakhouse burger from BK without the bun and a diet lemonade Snack: Leftovers Kale and Fish Dinner: Pork Tenderloin and more Kale :) |
I didn't weigh this morning because I figured it would be the same anyway. I'm probably going to weight until Monday to start weighing again.
Today's Menu Breakfast: 1/2 oz of cashews and 50oz of water Lunch: Chinese stirfry of chicken, beef, broccoli, bell peppers and onions and a few mushrooms with more water Dinner: Spaghetti w/o the noodles and the last of the leftover kale Probably will have a snack tonight. I may make some more cream cheese with davinci's and almonds (yum) |
Hi Nkechi,
Just wanted to say that you are doing great! I have yoyo'd for years too, but this time I have stuck with this for over 2 1/2 months so I'm trying to stay strong! I look foward to seeing your progress since we started around the same weight. Keep up the good work! |

This morning's weight: 242 lbs.
I only lost 1 lb this week but I am okay with that because TOM slowed things down. Usually I totally fall off plan when TOM comes to I am pleased with my progress so far. Next week I am planning to start the Ten Years Thinner plan that includes fruit and has a workout plan. Carbs will still be lowish but with fruit and nuts included. I started this plan before but I was not committed at the time. My sister had good results so I am going to give it another try. Pray that I do well. :aprayer: Thanks to all of you that have offered your support and words of encouragement! :hugs::hugs::hugs: |
