Talk is cheap. Just Do It!

I've been soul searching for a week now, and here i am. Beginning again.
I've done this before, low carb works if i work it.
I feel much better if i follow the plan.
I look better if i follow the plan.
The plan is simple if i follow it.
I've been working myself up to starting over, but this time i need to work the whole system, not remain in induction forever, that will just lead to disappointment later, i need to learn how to move throught the steps this time so i make a complete food lifestyle change.
And it all starts today, with breakfast.
The thing that drives me crazy is i can complain all i want about "this fat", and how hard it is to lose weight. The bottom line is no one is sitting on me putting food in my mouth. That's my job to feed myself. The question is , what am i going to give my body. Crap, or stuff that will lead me to success. It's my choice, it's time to grow up , learn to say "NO" to myself and prove i can have the body i want , that can physically be active and feel good in motion.
Lets do this.

Good post! What really got me motivated was good ol Dr. Laura! This caller called in who was very overweight, ( Oh hell, lets call it what it is, FAT!)

Anyhoo ~

He was crying, upset, and said that he could not stop eating. Period. Esp fast food, candy, sweets. And he does not know what to do!!

Know what she said?

"well then, you are going to stay fat."

Then there was silence across the board and finally the caller said, actually I can not recall a dayum word the caller said from that moment on but She said:

" You have the power. YOU. YOU made the choice to eat all that crap and get fat. Only YOU can say no and not be fat anymore. If not, well, you will always be fat"

I was like....WTH?? LOL!!!

But it is true. It is that simple. Try it. At least for me. I got heavy, oh hell, FAT, not because I am an emotional eater, or sad, lonely or a bad childhood....IT TASTE GOOD and I wanted it, bottom line.

You can do it. It doesn matter how often we fail as long as we get the hell back up and keep trying!!!

Ok , made it through day 1. Only got about 5 large glasses of water in, but i'll drink enough to sink a ship tomorrow. All i have left to do today is throw together a cup of coffee, watch Big Brother, and prepare my breakfast and lunch for work tomorrow. Work is the easy part, i only eat what i bring. It's the getting home that's hard. There is a one hour window when the kids aren't home, and i usually pick then. Maybe tomorrow i'll go to the library for a hour just so i'm not home. I guess that's the big thing, change the routine!!

Day 2 Induction.

So far so good. Breakfast went well, as did dinner. When i was making my salad this morning i realized i need to review my veggie list, as i was chopping i was trying to remember which veggies are from which list. I imagine one quick look will bring it all flooding back!

Supper was well, i had a fantastic on plan kind of day. But i'm wandering around craving something sweet, and that's funny because after i went off Atkins i never really got back on sugar. Just starchy carbs mostly. But man oh man , i'm feeling the tweak now. I went to the store grabbed a coke zero, i'll have a ounce or so later if this feeling continues. I'm not really a pop drinker, so i'm hoping the fake sweetness will do the trick.

Jaimie, i guess i didn't mention he's really cute..... but everyones married, so we resist, the cake!

Day 4 induction(yesterday)

Great day except i had some Balkan yogurt (yocheesed) with my breakfast. I guess that officially bungs up induction, but other than that i stayed clean. The yogurt is 7carbs for a half cup, and with the whey strained out of it i imagine it lowers the carb content a bit.

We had a gorgeous pork roast for supper with loads of veggies! It was soooo good. No one even noticed i was to lazy to make rice or potatoes, no complaints, it went over well. God knows it wouldn't hurt the other household members to miss a potato now and then! Once the kids hit bed i'm down for my nightly coffee, some relaxation and a foolish movie with hubby. Harold and Kumar , Guantanamo bay. Should be silly as can be!

Day 5 induction(yesterday)
The morning and afternoon went well. Then we went to town. And had Lebanese for supper. I caved and had a falafel. Butttt, i removed as much as the lebanese bread as i could without the sandwhich falling apart, and i did get the house salad with it as opposed to the leb. rice or fries. It was sooooooooooo good. Shame on me.

Hi Jaimie, the will power is pretty good. I wish i could bomb through induction as easily as the first time i ever did it, but i'm trying really hard!!

Day 6 induction.

Breakfast good, dinner good, supper mostly good. Had a cob of fresh corn along with my chicken. I'm going to be my own worse enemy.

You know Eileen, I think that the journey is interesting and important. So you had corn, it didn't send you on a binge, you are on plan, and yesterday you had a 95% on plan day! That is a SUCCESSFUL day if you ask me

Hugs

I know, i just want to do it right. If i can't stick to it now, and i can't lose weight now, how can i move into on going weightloss?? Know what i mean? But you're right, to have a slightly carby item, with a good day, still is nowhere near a 200-300 carb day, which im sure alot of us have had over the years. (just felt like smacking my self on the melon)

Might have to stop calling this induction, had spagetti for supper. My failure to plan will be the death of me yet. I hopped on the scale, down 3 lbs (big deal), but i know my work shirts are roomier, i can see/feel a difference. And anytime i lose weight it's always up top first. I should have measured!
