I just had visions of you doing the Yosimity Sam routine, hopping all over your garage saying, "Rasafrasabricabracka!" In cartoon language that's, "@#$*@."I know it's not funny, but . . . the mental image was priceless. ![]() |

I was about 1500 calories down from my daily used calories, but then I had another 2 oz of cashews on the way home and it doesn't have my fish oil tablets in there either so add about another 350 calories. Fitday says I burned about 5100 calories, I took in roughly 4000, that means I should have burned 1000 calories worth of fat. So that's not too bad
I also drank 3 liters of water and had 5 cups of coffee. |

Well, didn't sleep all that great today. I don't have near the responcability tonight so it's all good so far. I stopped and bought a new scale and ball cap on my way to work today. My home scale read 326 or so, I doubt it's that low but I wanted a digital one anyway. I'll weigh myself on it when I wake up and see what it says tomorrow afternoon.

Ugh . . . that DOES sound stressful!
But the bright side is, you didn't make a mistake AND you ended up getting some much needed rest! Have a good workout with your lawn, today. ![]() |

Actually D it was a pretty good workout
I push mowed for 1 1/4 hours then rode the riding mower 3 hours. Took a break and then mowed another hour or so on the rider and then push mowed the rest of the edges, another hour push mowing? That was about it. I was going to lift some weights but decided that the mowing will be enough. I plan to lift some light weights for the next couple days. I have a contest on Saturday so I won't be lifting anything heavy until then. Had a chiropractor appointment this morning but it got cancelled do you the Dr having her baby. I figured she would be dropping soon, but she said it was a few weeks away, I guess I was right So they wanted to know if I wanted to come in on Tuesday but I said Monday would be better for me. Now I'm thinking she probably would have liked to have a light day coming back, so I'm going to call back tomorrow and reschedule for Wenesday morning. |

Great job on the lawn, Bobby! Don't ask me how I know . . . I just know. I have spies everywhere!
![]() If I forget, with all that's going on lately, I hope you have a WONDERFUL time at the comp. coming up! That's sooooo cool. Let me know how it goes, okay? And I'm totally amazed at your chiropractor coming back so soon after the baby! I've never had a kid, but, MAN! To be back at it so soon seems superhuman or something! |

Yeah, I'm surprised she's coming back so soon too. I'll see if I can get some pics this weekend too.
So no lifting so far this week, I HAVE to do some lifting tomorrow morning. I don't want to leave it until Friday or Saturday's comp. I'd like to tighten everything up a little before Saturday. I've been eating a bit low on the carbs, I'll up them to about 40 or more for the next couple of days so maybe I'll have a reserve for Saturday. Last edited by Bobby; 09-17-2008 at 07:38 PM.. |

That's a really good idea about the carbs. You do take some kind of carb bar or something with you when you go, don't you, for that boost you'll need?
And I hope you can have some pics taken. I always look forward to seeing your comps. |

Last year I didn't plan it right and we were really hungry before the end of the comp. To the point were my blood sugar got too low. I'm not going to let that happen again. I weighed 328 today When I first got up and weighed it said 327, second weigh it said 315 then I did it again a third time and it said 328, so I'll go with that.I slept REALLY GREAT today I was soo tired when I got home I just got undressed and went right to bed and didn't wake up until 3:45 pm I wouldn't have woke up then if the Mrs hadn't woke me up. No waking up to pee or muscle spasms the whole day, it's the best sleep I've had in months! |

It should be, I usually just mix the peanut butter and chocolate whey protein togeather with a little water or coffee to smooth it all out. Then I'll eat it out of a bowl by the spoonfulls after it has set up, it's a nice treat. I was thinking it would be better to roll it out in balls and then roll them in crushed nuts or oatmeal to keep them from sticking togeather during the day. I like honey and it adds a nice flavor to oatmeal with pb and whey. I don't know how many carbs/calories it will be but concidering what I'll be doing Saturday I figure I'll burn em up pretty quickly

So, what is happening om Saturday? A weight lifting competition?? (I am sooo behind)
I have heard so many people talk about whey protein, but I do not know a thing about it. Is it something that can be used on induction? |

I'm in the Master's division cause I'm an ol' fart We're going to...Max log press, see how much we can overhead press a 12" steel log load with extra weight. Deadlift Medley, I'm supposed to pick up an axle 400 pounds, barbell 450 pounds, trap bar 500pounds and a set of farmers implements 260 per hand. Fingal's Fingers, flip over three steel poles roughly 250-350 pounds each. Power Stairs, lift and put on the next step three blocks weighing 200,250 and 300 pounds each. Three stairs for each. Stone for reps, 265 pound stone over a yoke bar set at 45 inches, load it over the bar and someone will push it back to you so you can load it over the bar again. After the comp we'll have a BBQ and sit around and shoot the breeze. It's a fun contest, and good to see friends you don't get to see often. On the whey protein, I'm sure it is induction friendly. Depending on the brand you choose. |

I didn't think you knew what you were doing this time around until you got there. The one event that always makes me wince when I read about it is the Power Stairs.
Maybe the others are just as strenuous, but that one always makes me want to give up before YOU even try it. I guess it's because the quads and glutes are SOOOOO engaged in that exercise and those are my weakest link.Last edited by dusk; 09-19-2008 at 03:18 AM.. |

That's the one in November that we won't know until we get there. The deadlift medley and stone for reps has me nervous the most. My dealifting was terrible last week and I haven't lifted a stone in a while.

Thanks Lei, I wish I was more consistant with my workouts, but it is coming along. I didn't get anything done this week. The mowing of the lawn and making rounds at work will have to be my main exercise for the week. I think I'll do some light stuff tonight since I was a slacker and slept all day yesterday instead of getting up early and lifting. I'll post what I get done. I'll try to get some pics taken, my youngest daughter is going and competing, unless she bails on me. So maybe we can take pics of each other when we do our lifts.
For some reason I'm feeling achy yesterday and today. I'm sure it's because I haven't been lifting all week. I should feel better later when I'm done working out, even if it is light stuff. |

I had a fun day today! I got second place and a cool trophy. Best of all I got to see some friends and have a great time.
First event was 12" log for max weight. I opened with 180, then 200 and got 220 for my third attempt It's been a while since I've put up a 220 log so I'm very pleased with that.Bobby 220 Log.jpg Then I think we did the dealift medley, I only got the 425 axel deadlift and no picture of that. I was pretty pleased with this event because I deadlifted the axel and broke the 475 barbell of the ground, i didn't get it all the way up but was happy and excited that a 500 deadlift should happen next year. Then I think we did the power stairs. I got all three up 200, 250 and 300 in like 27 seconds. Going back for the third implement... Bob going back for the last PS implement.jpg and all three loaded... Third PS implement up.jpg Then we went out and did the fingle fingers, I got the first two and on the third one I was half way up when I bailed. I bailed to the right and tripped over the 4th finger landing on my back and bouncing my noggin on the grass, thankfully it wasn't concrete. i swear I felt my brain rattle around inside my skull. Cleaning the third finger... Cleaning the third finger.jpg And almost getting there, just before I bailed on it... Almost there.jpg I did one rep with the stone, but I'm pretty happy with that. The second attempt wasn't happening but I gave it a try. Sorry no pic of that either. Overall I had a good time. |

Thanks D and Lei!
Lei, Shannon took second place too! She was the youngest competitor (14 yo) and was beaten by one load of the atlas stone, 10 pounds on the log for max, and she couldn't load the 200 lb power stair implement. She loaded the 100 lb atlas stone 8 times in sixty seconds (second place) and took first place in the deadlift medley with a time of about 15 seconds. I'm VERY proud of her, she has allot of heart. This is her in the middle with her second place award.... Shannon witth the other women competitors.jpg |

The carb treats were ok, I think adding in the honey may have been too much moisture. I ate a couple of them during the day and Shannon had one on the way home and said they were good. I just added a couple to my oatmeal and I'll use it up for that.
