Oh and for the record, I stopped by the Dr office on my way home yesterday and weighed myself. I'm still exactlly 339, what's up with that? The wife thinks it's because I've started working out again, maybe she's right. The first time I tried this woe I didn't workout until I was close to my goal and only went for a walk like 3 times. The weight just steadily fell off so maybe she's right. I do feel thinner and the fatty areas don't feel so full. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and see how it goes for another 2 weeks before I do something drastic, like worry

Hey Bobbie,
Sometimes when I'm not losing, I think it might be because I am not getting enough good fats. Are you getting plenty of olive oil or coconut oil? I love to cook with coconut oil - vegetables taste fantastic. |

The only good oils I get in are in the fish oil tabs. I keep my diet very simple, eating beef, bacon, eggs, cheese and some canned vegetables. Sometimes I'll throw in a salad or nuts of some kind. I've never tried coconut oil, tho another guy at work likes taking daily. Olive oil is pretty good in stir fry.
I'll add more oils in and see if that helps, thanks. |

Just get in the habit of drizzling a little olive oil on your salad and veggies. And steak and chicken pan fried in coconut oil is great. If I'm grilling, I pit either olive or coconut oil on everything before cooking. Adds great favor and keeps things from sticking.

Will do, thanks for the tips!
I'm sitting here at work and got to thinking about this past week. In the past 7 days I've only lifted weights twice, had a cheat and I doubt I drank near enough water. So, starting tomorrow, actually working on the water tonight, I'm going to concentrate on these three goals. 1) Lift some kind of weights, not necessarilly a workout, 9 out of the next 14 days. Even if it's for only 15 minutes I need to learn to be more consistant. This will be the hardest I think. 2)Drink a minimum of 68 ounces of water a day, then all the coffee I want. Second hardest. 3)Maintain my lowcarb woe, no cheats. This should be easiest, I'm pretty comfortable with my eating. And the other two goals should help encourage the food consumption. I'm not going to go over 40 carbs a day and those will be in the form of vegetables. I may wait until Monday, it depends on what I do tomorrow. |

Pulling oil? Like Crisco out of the can? Isn't that more of a scoup or spoon it out?
Nope, I usually just pour it out of the bottle. ![]() ETA: Isn't that swishing oil around in your mouth to pull out toxins? Last edited by Bobby; 08-31-2008 at 12:47 AM.. |

OK, just read a couple of threads, so you use CO to do this right? or just eat the CO and use olive oil to swish around?

I use coconut oil, I believe it helps to whiten my teeth too. I get mine at Walmart in the pharmacy section Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, it is 9.98. If you google the health benefits of coconut oil (or just oil pulling in general) you will be amazed. For me.........I have been feeling better, more energy, I get up early without dragging. I do believe it is healing my body....nothing specific, but I just have that over all I feel better feeling. I have only been doing it for a few weeks........some people take tablespoons a day, I am going to try to work up to that, I usually just make coconut bark and call it good! |

Thanks Jen, I'll give it a try in a couple of weeks. Right now I'm going to see if a constant woe and lifting will work my weight down. If it doesn't change, I'll definatly give the coconut oil a try.

Well, I finally got allot of sleep. The most sleep I've had in ages!
![]() While answereing another post I was going to list all the STUFF I have for exercising, then I just wrote down allot. Well I saved the list of stuff cause I thought it was pretty cool, here it is.... Parabody power rack with a pulley system on one side a bunch of different handles for the pully system a Dip attachment for the rack a bench with preacher curl pad and lockable leg extension attachments three olympic barbells two olympic dumbbell handles Ez curl bar and a home made axle (brand new one on it's way ) a 10" steel log a little over 800 pounds in plates Dumbbell pairs ranging from 10 to 80 pounds each one kettlebell, 70 odd pounds a GHR And a big blue exercise ball. That's just in the basement. In the garage I have a yoke, farmers walk handles, Powerlift Trap bar, and two tires for flipping (one about 450 and the other is 650). Outside I have four atlas stones, 3 kegs and an adjustable loading platform. And the wife wonders why I hate moving ![]() |

Moved an entertainment unit into the house for the Mrs, it took longer that I thought it would. I made an appointment to see a chiropractor this afternoon and was hoping to get the unit in and do my leg workout before going. I'm late eating so I'll do that and maybe a light workout before going if I have time. If not, I'll see what the chiro says and go from there.

i'm getting back on track today. i see i missed a post about your drs visit and think you're probably right no loss just being muscle gain. it's all those boy toy, exercising gadgets you're thrashing. ![]() i tried the oil pulling a couple of times too. i used a light olive oil and it wasn't bad but not something i thought i'd keep up. good to hear you've been getting a bit of restful sleep lately. The Dr didn't seem to think it was too bad, she said I have some twisted vertebra in a couple of places. She adjusted me and put the e stim on me, that was pretty cool. She said to apply moist heat and that was about it. The good news is after I'm straightened out I may lose my asthma
I'm looking forward to sleeping tonight and see if I have any problems. On that subject she said I need to try and sleep on my back more.I guess I also need to try and drink 170 ounces of water a day. And no lifting ubntil she sees me again, next appointment Friday morning, unless I have time on Thursday and reschedule. I'll do an abs workout tonight I guess. |

Yep, she said I should shoot for half my body weight in ounces of water, I guess that will be a good goal.
Good eye D. I asked cheri if I could have my name changed. I'm not 41 anymore and no one was using just Bobby. I was bored last night and did a search, I couldn't find anyone using Bobby. ![]() |

Yeah, I think I'll work my way up to it slowly. But like she said your body gets used to it. I think it would take me along time to get used to much over a gallon a day that's for sure.

Hey D, not much going on over here. Been kind of bummed about not lifting, got the ok yesterday so I'll do some today. I've been eating ok, no cheating or anything like that, water has been so-so. This past week is just a bust I guess. I did weigh myself the other day and was down a pound to 338. So that is good I guess.
