Earlier I was reading about scotch whiskey and other sipping bourbons/whiskeys on another site. I like crown royal and have a bottle in the bar, so now I'm enjoying half a tumbler before going to bed. I should sleep like a baby

I've only been to Kansas once, we had to fly there enroute to Texas cause the weather was so bad and couldn't land...Spent 4 hours there, and it was cold and windy.. Very windy.. Was that normal for April weather? From what little I did see though, it looked kinda nice there...

What's it like up there? I doubt we get anywhere near as cold as you guys do. Not that cold really bothers me, but I sure wouldn't want to be snowed in. |

Bobby, You have done some heavy lifting.
You might appreciate this, When I was a teen. I competed in Bench Press contests. Mike Katz Put them together. He owns a gym and lives in Connecticut. I met mike Katz. Got his autograph. He actually handed me my first trophy. I was one of the little guys who came out on stage first. Back then I wasn't even fully grown. I was probably 5'5 and competing in the 115 class. I was pencil thin but cut. I only benched about 185 strict. Back then we had the judges with the three lights. We had to raise the bar down to our chest, wait to hear the clap and lift it back evenly without moving our body. This was about 25 years ago. You know now that I think of it, I just put together a home gym. I should get out my trophies for inspiration. It was so much fun competing. Now I am 5'7" and about 165lbs. I was reading your journal and some of the stuff you talked about brought back memories.

Not much to drink tonight so far a couple of cups of coffee, 24 ounces of water and 32 ounces of gatoraide. I'll try and drink a litre of water on my way home. I've been sweating my butt off tonight and did lots of stairs, seriously I think I've done over 1,000 thru out the night. I know on three of the rounds I made tonight I did at least 225 steps on each round.
Tomorrow should be alot easier, it sure better be LOL |

Wow, my achilles tendons are sore today. I'll be taking it pretty easy tonight and plan to do my deadlift workout tomorrow. If I can get it in early, after work, then maybe I can have an event day on Saturday. If it's a late workout or I'm too sore I'll do some events on Sunday. Just trying to go with the flow and not stress too much over all this but still need to build some consistancy.
I weighed 352.4 today. Almost 15 pounds since May 10th. Now If I can continue loseing 2-3 pounds a week from now on without too many long plateaus. Let's hope so. |

Thanks Kandi! Thanks Lei! Ouch! That sounds like a ton of work, good job getting it done though! I've had about 80 ounces of water so far tonight, trying to make up for the lack of last night. Not sure how much more I'll drink. |

Hey Rich, glad to see it was a good one. The water, that's through out the day. I can usually drink around 96 ounces in a day with no problems. A little more when it's warmer and I'm active and sweating alot. But when I start getting close to 128 ounces, I've been sitting in the control room or not doing much physically, I can't sleep because I keep waking up to go pee every two to three hours. I have noticed if I don't drink at least the 64 ounces that's recommended I feel dehydrated the next day if not sooner.
Ohh, I just realized you might think I only drink water in the evening and am awake during the day. I work nights 6pm to 6am so my day usually starts around 3:30 pm. I usually sleep from 8:30 or 9am to around 3-3:30pm. |

My right knee is sore and swollen, those stairs I did on Wednesday night did a real number on it. I took some ibuprophen and if the soreness goes away enough I'll do the deads a little later tonight. The event training may just be weedwhacking the lawn instead of the other stuff I had planned. We'll see.

Lorraine said she thought it was called Heartland, but wasn't sure. She said there was one with a tag in a terra cotta pot, but I sure can't find it and she's left. So I'll ask her again when she comes home. Really, I'm just the gardeners helper. I dig the big holes and run the rotor tiller and chain saw for her
![]() Today she wanted me to move my stone loading platform, stones and kegs into the garage. She said it made our house look like step toe and son's. Whatever that means, I'm sure it wasn't good by the tone of her voice So today I help move some of the heavy stuff and my gear that was outside into the garage. After unloading the stones and putting the platform into the garage I wanted to weigh my stones to get an accurate weight. I went ahead and marked the smallest stone as 170 and tried to weigh the two middle ones using my electric bathroom scales. Not a good idea, after weighing the first one a couple of times I came up with 208, I thought that was a bit light but went with it. When I put the next stone on the scales it made a cracking sound and said 165. There's no way it weighs that little so I kept trying and it kept come up with about the same number. I got on it and it said 363 and there's NO way I weigh that much. So I'm pretty sure the scales are broke now. Anyway, I think I'll call that my exercise for the day. |

The reason she made me move all the stuff out from in front of the garage, she saw this picture I took yesterday and made an executive decision
![]() Now the only thing under the front porch is the windmill she wants to repaint, one keg, the busted sand bags that I need to move and her potted geranium. I guess they need shade so it'll say there. |

Hey Lei, she thought I was asking about the tomoto plants, she can't remember what the clematis plants are called.
She's on a roll, now she wants me to take the windmill apart for her so she can repaint it and put it out. Well, at least I'm not washing walls ![]() |

Yep, it's a walkout. This is what the area looks like now that I've moved most of the stuff. The keg that's still there has a leak in it and when it's finished dripping I'll put sand in it to replace the water. I'll use the sand that's to the right.
This it what it looks like on the other side looking from where my loading platform used to be. This rose bush didn't bloom last year, and is too close to the sitting area, it sprawls like crazy and she wants me to dig it up and move it next time it's dormant. Look how nice the blooms are on the few that it's put out this year. The Asiatic Lilly are starting to bloom. The columbine is doing pretty good for the second year, I like when they fill in the area tho. The down side of this place is the large yard, it goes out just past the pine tree near the road. Taking that windmill apart was a pain in the a$$. I sprayed it with lubricant and let it set for a few hours and even that didn't help most of the bolts. Some of them I had to use a cutting wheel on to cut the heads of the screws off and the others were just plain tough. After I was finished I said to the Mrs that it would have probably been easier with a shorter screwdriver and all I could find were 10" screw drivers. She said they were upstairs in one of the kitchen drawers, then quickly "no they aren't" with a smirk on her face Oh well, it's done now. |

I dropped out of this weekends contest a while back and now I wish I hadn't. Lorraine wants me to continue working on the weight loss and controling the blood pressure. And I'm sure she's right, but I'm feeling a little bummed about not going.
I'll be back after I go check some equipment. I checked this months schedule and it looks like I'll be fireing most of the month again. Anyway, brb. |

I talked to Lorraine about being bummed and she said she didn't care if I went, but wasn't going to go with me. Then I told her I wasn't running an AEO position after tomorrow night and would be sitting on my butt for the rest of the month. She agreed that if I'm sore from the contest I'll be in the ideal work positions fro the next three weeks.
Then I called Scott, the man holding the contest. I asked him if I could play if I could make it down there. He was very cool about it and was going to put my entry fee towards the next contest I wanted to do, if I didn't do this one. But he said since I'd already sent the entry in I was still good to go if I wanted. We'll see how this week goes ![]() |
