I should be confessing MY sins, but your guys would probably gain weight just reading about all that I've been eating lately.

You're so right Rich.

Today we're celebrating my daughter's birthdy, she turns 15 tomrrow. She's going to have a few friends over and we ordered a pretty cook cake. I know there's going to be pizza and snacks as well. So I need to get some good quality low carb meals in me before tonight and hopefully I'll Start today.

Wish me luck.

Last year I didn't go back to lifting and watching what I ate after Thanksgiving, and paid the price for it. I can't allow that to happen again this year, so here goes my big push to get past new years.

DB Curls

Standing BTN DB Tricep Ext

Hey Bobby

Just wanted to say Hi and ask if it's OK to post on your journal. We kinda met over at Rich's. Wanted to reply about Testosterone injections spot. My doc told me I could only inject in the gluts. I don't know why.

Your menus are awesome. Lot's of food. I used to weight train but nowhere near your level. Want to start again but it will have to be machines. Can't do free weights. I won't have anyone to spot for me and I think it would be a bad idea.

Hey Polarbear, everyone is welcome to post here.

You should talk to your Dr about shot locations again when you see them.

But, here's my take on it, the shot needs to be put in a muscle, the nurse giving me my shot said the delt was fine. She usually changed shoulders, left one time right next, each shot. From what I understand, you don't want to put the shot in the same location all the time, you'll build scar tissue using the same location all the time and that will eventually make it more painful injecting and cause bleeding.

Weight lifting, I don't have anyone to spot me 99.9% of the time. Unless I go find one of the girls, my wife or one of my daughters. Most of the time I lift in the late evening or early morning hours when they are asleep. I'm not exceptionally brave or strong, but I do have a power rack and go sub maximal on bench press because I've been stuck under the weight and it's no fun having to call for help. But the main thing is this, I would encourage you to lift weights, whether it's on a machine or free weights, just get started. The health benefits are too important to ignore, especially for bone density and muscle mass for our later years.

Thanks for the advice. I know it's good advice. I felt great when I was lifting. Strong, my weight loss was good, and as I lost the weight my body looked great under the fat. I have access to a small workout room with weight training machines here and as soon as I feel better (been sick and had to stay home from work) I'm going to start using them. Also have dumbells here in the house.

I spoke with my M.D. friend (not my doc, but my best friend) he said it's probably that you have a lot of muscle on your delts and I don't, since it has to go into the muscle. I hear what your saying about the peaks and valleys with the injections. I used to do 2 weeks and now I'm on a lower dose weekly. Still a bit of a spike but not nearly as bad.

I hope you get better soon and can start lifting. It makes me feel better too when I lift, even as little as a couple of times a week.

I'll lift weights a little later tonight after I catch up on my journal/bb reading. I took Sunday night off and should have lifted then but just didn't feel like it.

Wow, sorry I missed this, Hey D!

I started vacation on the 5th, I haven't been doing much, mostly resting. I'm still eating off plan and not exercising much. I tried doing a pressing workout on the 7th and by the time I got to doing the fifth rep with 175 my arms were shaking. Not sure why, but it took alot out of me, so I quit.

I finished up the roof on Friday, I just had to cover the stoop and a small section under the porch but I felt like someone had kicked me in the nads afterwards. I didn't take my medicine like I was supposed to that day so that may have had something to do with it. Anyway, all I need to do is cover the shed and I'll be finished with the whole roofing thing.

I've been on anti biotics for the past two weeks. First for a uti that I thought was a strain and then for an infection in my left toe that I thought was an ingrown toenail but was alot worse and the Dr. called it something else and said people get the on their fingers or toes. Anyway, it made a red very tender spot at the tip of my toe and made it blow up really big a putting all kinds of pressure on it. That didn't take me long to go see the Dr for. And it came on surprisingly fast. I think I'm falling apart and need to start taking/eating something to help with my immune system.

Yesterday I went and trained with some friends that were doing strongman training. I did ALOT better than I thought I would concidering I hadn't been lifting for a month and my eating has been off plan. I got two PR's, one for picking up 300 pound farmers implements in each hand and the other for loading a 300 pound keg to 48 inches. I'm getting very excited about lifting, I just hope I hold up so I can.

The other day I weighed myself and I weighed 337, regaining 23 pounds. So now I need to change my stats and get back after it.

I'm off work until Friday evening, so the plan is to lift a few more times during this next week and try and get back into that habit at least.

Thanks D, the toe nail is comeing off eventually. It's still hanging on though.

I've been aviding my computer this past few days. The outside cats that sleep in the garage at night are in my room where it's warmer. I didn't want to deal with them while working out or sitting at the pc, I'm certain the long haired one makes my eyes burn when I pet her, but she's getting old and she's a good cat so we'll keep her around until she passes. Anyway, I'm going to have them go back out now that is warming up.

I've still been eating very bad. I had a couple of pop tarts for breakfast. I know, bad choice. I didn't sleep much, 3.5 hours, and wanted to leave early. I did get a salad and a couple of chicken breasts for tonight. I'll try and stay away form the vending machines tonight and post if I do. So far I've had 24 ounces of water and taken my fish oil and vitamins. I'll try and have more water tonight too.

Anyway, that's what I've been up too.

Well, time to dust this old thing off and get back on plan.....

Not much to report other than I gained most of the weight back on and lost the drive to work out. One thing at a time I guess.

I did start taking vitamin D a while back and that seems to help some.

I did a strongman contest earlier this month. Had a great time and didn't get hurt during the contest. After the contest was over I wanted to try and load a 310 pound beer keg, well I sat back too far with it on my knees and started falling backwards. So instead of letting it steamroll my face I pushed it over to the left and it got my arm. This is what it looked like the day after....

Most of the swelling is down and the bruising is all but gone. I have a little shade left, but that might have been caused by something else. The Dr said not to lift anything until the swelling and soreness was gone. The bruising went away alot faster than the soreness. ANYWAY.... I'll try and get back after it and post any progress.
