Webcutie's Journal - Yeah Baby, Yeah!
Hello Everyone
![]() I'm new here.... My name's Lea, I'm 27 from Las Vegas (originally from Seattle)... About 6 years ago I went on Depo Provera and my weight shot up from 135 to 180 in just a few months. During that time I ate healthy and worked out every day but had no idea what was the cause of it. I started becoming very depressed and my self confidence was an all time low.... After a while, I decided that I needed to do something drastic to take the weight off, I could not live like that any longer..... so I cut carbs & sugar out of my diet (I noticed they always made me tired and moody because my blood sugar was all over the place). At that time I had heard about Atkins but like so many people (that don't know what it is truly about) I though it was about eating meat & cheese and nothing else. So in about 5 months, cutting carbs out of my diet and walking 1-2 hours a day... I lost almost 60lbs! The weight fell off of me.... A year or so later, I met the love of my life and my low carb diet went out the window... I found the love of fast food and eating bigger portions and now I'm up to 142 (down from 146 just 9 days ago) ... I decided that I have to do something about this.... about 98% of my clothes don't fit anymore and I refuse to buy new stuff... My size 5/6 jeans are probably a stretched out size 9/10 or 11/12 now, which is funny and sad all rolled into one. I started browsing the internet for low carb diets (for a more set plan than my first time around) I discovered this wonderful site SugarFreeSheila.com..... Wow, such an inspiration to me!!! I read the whole website top to bottom. She did Atkins and I thought "this is what I'm going to do". I got the book and read it in one evening! I didn't start it initially because I had to get myself mentally prepared; I wanted to have the right groceries as well. For me, it’s really important that I plan meals and such. About 3 weeks later, on Monday... July 14th I started. I didn't tell anyone though because I've tried to "diet" many times over the last few years... I did Body for Life a couple times (good book, I learned a lot but could never eat 6 meals a day), I tried the Zone Diet (with all those crazy blocks I was so confused) and I even tried the starvation diet (though it only lasted like 1/2 the day, I was so hungry I'd binge on everything in sight) Even though it's only been 9 days, I've lost 4-5 lbs! Slow and steady is what I'm going for. I like to eat just 3 meals a day plus 1 snack if I need it... I've discovered that eating 5-8 times a day does not work for me. I think about food all day long and it drives me absolutely crazy. Atkins seems a lot like the low carb/ no sugar diet I made for myself years ago. I think this way of life is really going to work for me! I'm finally starting to feeling "normal" (over the past 9 days) ... The headache that I've had nonstop has finally subsided and I'm starting to feel a little more energetic! I still am a little tired but I think that's going to go away soon.... I hope to update this daily if I can... to keep myself accountable! I'll try and find some pictures and post them.... It might be hard because I've been a little camera shy over the last year! I encourage comments, questions and thoughts from anyone, so feel free to post!

![]() Are you still on Depo? I went on that years ago, couldnt lose weight at all while I was on it and I gained about 30 lbs, of course I cant say that it was only because of that but I think it may have helped, and my system has never been the same since. May your journey be very sucessful!!!!!!!!! |

welcome...you're doing awesome...you are very close to goal.. be wary of the splenda..limit it to occasional...many of us find it creates cravings..

L - Huge Chicken Caesar Salad D - Probably more Pork Tenderloin + veggies S - String Cheese or Deviled Eggs Water - 2.2 liters Workout - 20 minutes Turbo Jam + 40 minutes Weight Training I haven't been to creative lately with food, I'm just eating for fuel mostly. I'm going to start searching for some induction friendly recipes. If any of you have some amazing ones, please share! I like things that are simple, not to many ingredients and quick prep... or something that I can make on the weekend and I can just grab & go ![]() |

I ended up going out last night. My boyfriend's work was having a get together and we ended up going to a local casino (Red Rock)... I planned to have 1 cocktail to be social... and thought a tangaray and tonic would be perfect. Well I just looked it up and it has carbs and sugar (the tonic)... who knew?!?! I'm totally bummed out...
Not to mention I ended up having 4 cocktails plus a shot called a buttery nipple... ![]() Good news is.... my weight hasn't changed and I'm back on today... eatings good, took my vitamins... and I'm working out in a bit. Bad news is.... I feel guilty about last night.... My eating and exercise was perfect for 10 days and then wham! I screw it up... ![]() ````````````````````````````` B- Bacon Pepper Jack Quiche Muffins + 1 coffee with heavy cream + splenda L- Huge salad with Chicken & Ranch Dressing D- More Pork Roast + Veggies S- String Cheese or Deviled Eggs + 1 coffee with heavy cream + splenda |

Everything has been good... except yesterday without even thinking about it I grab a piece of dark chocolate (a square) and ate it... after I did, I just couldn't believe it...
I just let it go and made a mental note to be more aware about stuff like that... Good news... I was 142 over the weekend but this morning scale said 140.... The first week I lost the most weight... but lately it hasn't been moving much... I've decided to cut the cheese down to 1-2oz and decrease my sodium intake a bit.... If those things don't help maybe I'll decrease my heavy cream intake.... My calories have been averaging around 1600ish... with my fat being around 70-75% and my carbs being around 15-20 net a day. I don't know what else it would be ![]() B- 3 eggs with mushrooms & cheddar (in butter) + 2 espresso with 2 tbl. hc & splenda L- chicken ceasar salad D- beef brisket with 1 cup steamed veggies with butter S - not sure yet, maybe some deviled eggs or celery with cream cheese |
