Dani, Sounds like our Alternative School programs here. I work for Fairfax County Public Schools in VA. Many of my students come from and go to the alternative schools around the county after they serve their time.

This my 7th year teaching too and like you my job can be challenging but I love it. Plus I have a great co-teacher I work with.

Have a great day!

Hi HB! Thanks for dropping by.

Well, Last night it was raining so I ended up doing HHA Cardio and had so much fun. I just love Shaun T. Ended up eating some All Bran Cereal for dinner.

I got up this morning did 15 min interval walk tape. Feeling good!

Morning. I got in TJ Fat Blaster Last night and this morning I woke up a little earlier so I got in a 15 min Interval Walk and 6 mins of abs (P90 200 ab ripper). Feeling good. Tonight going to boogie down with Shaun T and will do 15 mins of strength training.

As for eating I'm playing around with my diet to see what works for me. Making healthy choices, smaller protions, mixing up protein/carbs.

Morning! Had a good weekend. Did some laundry and actually folded and put it away - major plus for me. Had a couple girlfriends over for pizza, movie and wine. Fun times. This morning I slept through the alarm (someone turned it way low) so no workout this morning. Will have to work extra hard tonight.

Had some All bran for breakfast and my tummy is growling. Need some protein.

um, yeah. weird, huh? who'd a thought?
but to be honest, I can relate (a little bit)

when I was sick a few years ago ...
... I actually prepared to die ...
gave away a LOT of my stuff & everything.
even created my "Last Will & Testament"
(most important was WHO got my animals!)

then it was like: HUH??
I'm gonna LIVE??
but wait, I'm all done here!
I'm ready to move on now!

I didn't really know how to return to my "old life".
I didn't really want to return to my "old life" either.

over the HolyDaze 2005 (btwn Xmas & NY's) ~
Hubby & I watched ALL 3: Lord of the Rings!
(great way to see these movies, btw )

and this passage spoken/thought by Frodo,
touched my heart, and has stayed with me:
(+ applies to my recent farewell to my toxic family)

How do you pick up the threads of an old life?
How do you go on, when in your heart you begin to understand there is no going back?
There are some things time cannot mend.
Some hurts that go too deep that have taken hold.

Whoa, sorry to get so deep in Kelley's Journal...
...Waxing Philosophical on the Keyboard this AM!

Probably because I'm going to the Cancer Center for my quarterly check-up.
There was a time in my life; that I'd be up at the Cancer Center every day!

I am so damn lucky!

esp since my hubby; friends; & the non-toxic part of my family was with me every single step of the way.
that just doesn't happen for everyone.
I know some very sad stories
but my story is a happy one!

PS: all of my "real" friends even gave me back all my stuff!!
(my toxic sisters wouldn't give me back a thing; they're mean )

Thanks Dani and HB!

U2 was great. It was mostly middle aged people and then some late teens/twenties. It was so funny to see all the younger crowd were up singing the new songs and then when the older music was on all us old fogies were up LOL. It was a beautiful night - in the low 50s - so wonderful.

So now for my news. I got Shaun T's Insanity workout!!!!! I did my fit test today and while it was tough I was happy with my outcome considering I wasn't too far behind for those who were doing it after the 60 days!

My numbers were:

Switch Kicks 89
Power Squat 34
Power Kick 80
Power Jump 25
Global Jump 7
Squat Jump 12
Push Up Jacks 11 - killer!!!!
Oblique Plank 24

The fit test was tough but doable. I'm anxious to see how I do on the workouts. I will check in tomorrow and let you all know!

Day 2 of Insanity

OMG!!!! I'm drenched and I couldn't even do the whole workout!!!! Even though I couldn't do all the reps (about 1/2 for most) and had to take extra breaks I can tell I'm doing something totally different and body will be feeling it. I love Shaun T and he is just as great on this hard a@@ workout as he is in hip hop abs!

The workout starts with a 10 min warm up (more like tony horton's 10 min cardio if you ask me) then a 5 min stretch and then you do 3 mins of really intense moves (football drills, push up jumps, plank jumps, basketball jumps, hiesmans) The 1-2-3 heismans I feel like a total clutz. Can't get my feet to move that fast. Hard but fun and I keep jumping back in when I could!

Day 3 Insanity Cardio Strength Circuit

I woke up this morning with soreness where I didn't even know where I could be sore! I got up put on my workout gear and hobbled down the stairs. After eating breakfast and enjoying an hour of Monk I popped in my dvd.

Again, OMG!!!! Today I couldn't even do all the reps in the warm up. I kept going back for more when I could. I loved this workout even though I can't do all the reps and I was in tears at one point. Not so much for the pain, but maybe the stress leaving my body... Shaun T was a major asset at one point telling me to take break if needed but that "You can fricking do this!" Yes his words. I heard those words repeatedly in my head when I wanted to stop and while I didn't get all my reps in I did get more than I would have.

Tomorrow is the recovery workout and from what I hear that workout is just as challenging. Will let you know tomorrow. I haven't decided if I will get up early and do it or if I will wait till I get home. Good night!

Didn't get up early today. So will have to do my Recovery and Stretch workout this afternoon when I get home. Then my hubby is taking me out for mexican for my bday. So I do plan on having a margarita!!!! YUM! I believe he and the kids are also making me a cake. I will try and limit myself to a small piece and then bring the rest into work for everyone else to eat!!!
