P40! I have an excellent recipe for Chicken Pot Pie if you are interested. My favorite too! I only make it about 3/year though because it takes awhile to make. But OH so good.
Amy's Organic Country Vegetable does hit the spot though. It was so good and I didn't even miss the chick. ![]() I'm loving this Med way of eating and I hope it works out because the food is so good and I feel a little more relaxed yet still in control (except for last night- will share in my journal post) I will definitely keep you informed. And you are so sweet to say that - I still pop in but since I've sort of grown out of the program I feel kind of like I need to turn the reigns over, but I love so many of the ladies there I have to keep in touch! GP - Posted the Veggie Pot Pie Info here and on your journal. I think you will love it. Your pasta bol sounded wonderful. Do you use spaghetti squash in place of the pasta? I'm with you on LCing getting me back to cooking more. I too feel healthier and so much better overall. I do still have to get my chipotles about once a month, but as fast food goes it is healthy. Right now I'm following the Med Diet I sent you the link too. I love having some freedom, and hope that I still feel good and lose a few pounds. If not, I may have to go back and incorporate some of Wendy's rules from CFLC. Will let you know! to you both!

Yesterday started off great, but then ended on a little low note.
Breakfast: WW tortilla smeared with TBS PB, 1/2 chopped banana, 1/3 cp raisins Lunch: Turkey breast/lowfat mozz/chopped artichoke hearts on Whole Grain bread w/mustard and 15 baby carrots and an apple snack/dinner: 6 Thin Mint cookies/1 spoonful of PB/small bag of smartfood I know - I had a meeting after work and by the time I got home I was starving and unfortunately the first thing I saw were those dreaded thin mints and I finished them off! Then I wasn't very hungry for dinner of course so I ended up snacking on a spoonful of PB and then a snack size bag of Smart Food. On a good note I did get my HHA HBT workout in, plus the bender ball upper/lower/obliques and push ups. Note to self make sure to have healthy snack in my purse at all times! |

At least you had an excuse: No alternatives with you.
I have none. (hanging head in shame) Pre-Tom omens took over my mind/body last night and I caved, head first, into a huge bowl of fat-free caramel toffee crunch icecream. Perfect. Just blew my numbers for the day. ![]() |

Happy Sunday Kelley, hope you are having a great weekend. My oldest was home sick friday with fever and headache and is still not quite all better, at least no vomiting!
That pot pie looks yummy and I am going to get one at the store when I go out! But I would love your receipe when you have time. So glad you are enjoying your new WOE - it really is important to stay enthusiastic and energized about what we are doing and changing things up from time to time helps to do that. I think especially at this time of year when it has been so bleak for so many months, it is nice to start fresh. Hopefully the weather will start to cooperate and the sun will shine and the birds will sing - there is nothing more motivating to me in the morning than that. I don't shut any blinds or shades so I love for the sun to pour in, it makes me hop out of bed. And I am so sick of wearing sweaters that I have been freezing for the past week because I want to wear something different! I am also looking for a new workout. Don't get me wrong I love Shaun T. but I have been doing them for over a year now and it is hard to put the same ones in over and over. That is kind-of what happended with Turbo Jam, I just can't get motivated to put those in anymore. Any suggestions? I know you love callanetics, I have to confess that I stopped the leg ones, no reason just never picked it back up when I took a couple of weeks off, but really for me I did not see any change. I am thinking of the new Chalene Extreme because I think it it very schedule oriented but it is sooo expensive. Hope all your kiddies are healthy and happy.

Hey T - You are such a power house that I'm sure that ice cream was burned right off!
The pot pie is yummy and I will try and get my recipe to you this week. It is a take from Julia Child's recipe but I changed it just a bit. I agree with spring here and the weather getting warmer the motivation to eat healthy and workout is back! I understand - I've been thinking about ordering HHA Advanced - do you have it? Or maybe Zumba that workout looks like fun! Plus I have my running and Callanetics to change things up a bit. |

FRIDAY/SATURDAY
Well my eating for Friday was not too bad - that is one reason I love Med because I can adapt with changes. I had my shredded wheat with 1/2 banana and 1/3 cup raisins for breakfast, snack was cheese stick and apple, and I was going to have my spinach salad w/Whole Grain English muffin mini pizzas but my co-teacher wanted to get chipotle and what can I say she twisted my arm. But I got the salad w/tomato salsa, guac, black beans - yummy and saved my lunch for dinner. Got in my Callanetics Friday night and felt great.
Sat - had shredded wheat again with raisins, and 1/2 banana. and then took my 4 yo our for mommy daughter time and we ate a chick fil a I had the grilled chicken salad, but did steal 4 of Carli's french fries! Dinner was salmon with green beans and my snack was spoonful of PB with spoonful of choc chips. Overall, not too bad. Did HHA Cardio, Bender Ball lower, upper, obliques, and push ups! Getting back in the groove and feeling good. |

Hey Kelley, thanks for the msg. You're so kind. I like the quote in T's post (a treasure chest of fantasticness that gal!!)
I said in another post before don't let a "not so good" food choice turn in to a week of bad choices, the a month and so on you know? You got right back in to it and got on with it. That kinda determination is hard to find. I'm doing the LGL diet as of tomorrow, I think its going to be much better suited to me. I'm so excited. I keep forgetting to tot up my Callanetics hours - will go do that after this. I hope you had a good weekend and have a fab week ahead. G x

T - thanks for the kudos and I'm feeling good so far and loving getting back into the groove. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 60s so I'm going out for a run. Very excited about that.
GP - You are inspiring so thank you. I hope this WOE is the key for you and can't wait to hear about your progress. Keep the faith girlfriend! |

Sunday - Eating was good, but more of a snacking day. I had a good breakfast and snack of my standard: shredded wheat/raisins and this time raspberries and then for snack apple and cheese stick. I had a meeting to get ready for my teacher's conference in charlottesville. So got a late lunch of turkey on whole grain with artichoke hearts, tomato, and onion. Later an apple w/string cheese again. Not really hungry but did have some PB - my biggest weakness. Didn't drink enough water because I was so busy and did get some Callanetics in.

Aw Kelley! I had the hugest grin on my face when I read your messsages! Thanks so much. Inspiring? Me? Nah - thats reserved for the likes of you, T, HB and so many others...I'm still on a learning curve. Well I guess we all are really but I don't have half the knowledge that you and the others do.
Your daily menu sounds sooooo very good! Doesn't sound like a "diet" at all!! Thats what I like about LGL too...its not a struggle, and I'm afraid that how I felt on Atkins, others have found it ok doing Atkins as vegetarians, but not me..Failure? No. Enlightened? Yup!! Have a good week lovely! G x |

Oops missed yesterday. Mon got my callanetics in and had a great lunch of spinach salad and mini pizzas. Yesterday I had Luna Bar/Skim milk for breakfast and then for snack saltines (tummy upset), dinner tacos with lean beef, avocado, salsa, tomato and onion. HHA TBB - WoW great workout!

Hello Kelley, Sounds like you are staying on track WTG!
The food sounds delicious. I am eating Dede's Unstuffed cabbage leftovers as I write it is one of my favorites .I just read on the CTFLC board that you are presenting at a conference this weekend. How exciting, you are very brave . What are you presenting on? Do you get to go away for the weekend? So noisy aren't I ![]() Just trying to live vicariously through others, the highlight of my weekend will be Basket Bingo for the elementary school I am taking the whole family even DH so that should put a new spin on it - hardly ever win but I do have a fun time, with the kids I think it might be more like work![]() Have a great time! |

I'm loving this WOE, but unfortunately I had a fight with Easter Candy and lost
Not craving, just stupid choices and could kick myself now, but it is done so moving on. At least I've been exercising. Nervous and excited about presenting at my conference. I'm going to be free of my kiddies and know I will love it for the first night, but be ready to see my little angels by Sunday night. Going to enjoy the time with my friends and colleagues and try and eat sensibly and enjoy my wine responsibly. |

Hey Kelley - how you getting on hun? You deserve time away, enjoy and relish every second of it.
I'm sure you were just great at the conference, you talk a good talk on these boards, I can imagine you are just amazing in person!! Don't beat yourself up over the Easter Candy, it happened, its over, eat better today. Be happy with the knowledge that you have been exercising and keeping active. Its not mindless binging (should there be an "e" in that - its late and I can't think LoL!) You inspire me daily. Thanks for popping by, its always a pleasure to read your messages! Let us know how you got on.... Enjoy the rest of your weekend. G x |

Happy Saturday Kelley, How is it going. I can see by you being MIA still that you are still catching up - Sometimes it just doesn't pay to go away
and I am talking shopping for the day. I can't imagine what my home would look like if I was gone for a few days ![]() ![]() Gotta love them though. I hope this is not the case with you. But we all miss your cheery posts. Are you still taking your class on Saturdays? Hope you have a great weekend. |

Well, I'm feeling better and loving my antibiotics and neti pot - what a God Send! I have also found a new goal to help me stay focused - the Run Amok Challenge. It is a 4 mile obstacle course on Quantico Marin Corps Base and it looks like so much fun:
