Hi Dee,

Yes. Depending on how much weight one needs to lose, you follow either a Pale ketogenic diet or just plain Paleo. I eat very similar to what I ate on Atkins, but now I eat grain fed beef, pastured pork and chicken, free range eggs, and lots of seafood. Absolutely no grains and no sugar.

Much of my success is from eating the big protein breakfast. It puts me completely in control of food and eliminates cravings. Check out the quick start guide at jackkruse web site.

No weight loss this week, but ate a lot yesterday, so I expect a good loss this week. Yesterday was stress eating which very rarely happens. Probably aggravated by not enough protein for breakfast.

Dr Kruse's hormone webinar was good, but most was for women. Also had a 1 hr consult with him. I agree with his assessment, but hope there is a different path to optimal than the one he recommended. I am adding Qi Gong, tapping, and meditation to my weekly activities to see if that makes a difference. I'm hoping if I can get cortisol at proper levels, that everything else will normalize. If not, then I'm looking at hormone replacement.

FBG was 115 this morning. This makes no sense as last 2 times I tested, it was in low 90's. All I can think of was I had rubbed coconut oil on my feet when I got up. I washed my hands, but maybe not good enough.

FBG was 93 this morning, which is exactly the same as 2 previous readings. Yesterday must have been from the coconut oil.

Was down 2 lbs earlier in week, but ate too much yesterday including way to much hwc. So no weight loss for the week.

Severe fatigue, eye problems, trouble focusing. I have not taken dhea, 7-keto, or pregnenolone for over a week and I think that is what is causing the severe fatigue. Going to tick it out for another couple of weeks until I have new labs done.

Kept bouncing around - up and down 2 lbs. Finally ended the week 2 lbs down.

Last night I felt really hot. Had to lower the AC 2 degrees from where it normally is. Then I had very vivid dreams. Might be nothing or hopefully is a sign I am finally starting to be leptin sensitive. If my energy starts increasing, that would be a good sign that my body is finally starting to normalize.

No change for the week. At one point, I was 2 lbs down and then back up 2 lbs. I think my scales are about worn out.

Did good at getting sun this week. Higher vitamin d seems to be keeping me from getting burned.

For some reason, woke up at 3:30 am and couldn't get back to sleep. I can't remember the last time that happened. I had caffein yesterday so maybe that was the problem.

Night-time bathroom trips down this week. Two times I made it through the night with none. Usually only 1 time.

I assume it is bph that is causing me problems. Had to get up every hour last night. Same symptoms as 4 months ago, but I am not taking pregnenolone or dhea now.

Completed a 4 week sun test. Got about 2 hours/day of direct sun to see if it would raise vitamin d and testosterone. Yes to both, but free testosterone and dhea-s went down and I would have thought they would go up.

Night-time bathroom trips under control but still have some discomfort. Stopped saw palmetto until I do more research. Conflicting info on whether DHT causes BPH.

Down 2 lbs for the week. Energy is still low. Didn't take benedryl for sleep last night and didn't sleep as well as I have been. I think benedryl may contribute to BPH which is why I stopped taking it.

Had doc appt. She found a slight heart murmur. Wonder if losing all this weight had anything to do with her detecting it this time and not in the past.

She recommended colloidal silver for bph. I don't notice any change in bph yet, but energy has been better since I started taking it. May be just coincidence.

Also finally got dht lab back and surprise, surprise, it was optimal. So estradiol is the main focus and likely cause of bph. She gave me a prescription for a very expensive drug, so I am going to try herbs and supplements for 2 months and see if that is enough. Also restarted pregnenolone to try to increase progesterone which should reduce estradiol. She recommended progesterone cream, but from my research, guys react well to pregnenolone, so that's what I am using for 2 months.

Redo labs in October and go from there.

Sneaking up on goal weight. One lb down this week. Energy is better and I think it is most likely from the pregnenolone.

Hi Beachguy. I just read the last of this thread and I immediately thought "this guy has lyme disease!" I don't usually say anything because doctor's act like it's not a problem but I felt like I had a duty to say something to you.

I decided to start at the beginning of your journal and noticed that they "thought" you had lyme. You had the rash I am assuming. That is the gold standard for treating with antibiotics. They should not have even done a blood test. They are SO bad at detecting the bacteria and so many people get false positives. I kept reading to see if they gave you abx and then noticed that they said you didn't have it!! UGH!!! They should have just treated you.

Then I saw where you live in Va. Va is quickly becoming one of the worse states for lyme. I quit reading because the thread was so long and just decided I would say something. All of the problems you are having can be attributed to lyme. My DD was misdiagnosed for 10 years before we got the right testing and she has been treating for three years. She has LOTS of systems that have been affected.

There are some lyme literate MD's in Va. Most doctors don't know how to properly diagnose and treat this disease. We live in Tennessee and travel to Ct. for treatment for my DD. It's THAT important to get treated.

If I have overstepped my boundaries, I apologize. I pray that you find health and well-being. I'm sure that I missed some things by not reading the whole thread but I just didn't have time.

I had the Western Blot and it came back negative, so evidently the 30 days of antibiotics was enough to kill the lyme disease. I have been having the fatigue for over 40 years, so I was suffering from fatigue way before I had the tick bite. The fatigue seems to be because my hormones are messed up.

But thanks for concern and heads up.

Up a lb this week, but it is water weight from yesterday. Ate too much yesterday - calories were OK, but too many dairy carbs.

Week 1 - Week 25 - 50 lbs
Week 26 - 2 lb . . . . . Week 33 - (3) lb . . . . Week 40 - 2 lbs
Week 27 - (2) lb . . . . Week 34 - 0 lb . . . . . Week 41 - 0 lb

Week 30 - 2 lb . . . . . .Week 37 - 0 lb . . . . . Week 44 - 1 lb
Week 31 - 2 lb . . . . . .Week 38 - 1 lb . . . . . .Week 45 - (1) lb
Week 32 - 2 lb . . . . . .Week 39 - 0 lb

Total since Oct 15: 75 lbs
Total from Highest: 90 lbs

Found out that the calcium d-glutarate was causing the fatigue just like dim did. Both are supposed to help lower estradiol. So DHEA, DIM, and C-D-Glutarate all result in extreme fatigue. For the last 4 days, I have been spending about 6 hours/day doing physical labor. Also getting as much sun as I can.

Colloidal silver has been a miracle treatment for prostate. Been taking it for 12 days and for the last 5 nights, I had just 1 night-time trip to the bathroom. I still wake up and have a slight urge to go, but can roll over and go back to sleep. Last night, I went from about 11 pm to 8:30 am without going. Hopefully, my body will adjust and not wake me up.

It seems every time things are going good, something different happens. I don't have fatigue, but energy isn't very good. I can work for an hour at the most and then need a break. A month ago I could be in the sun for an hour or 2 straight, now 30 minutes is a lot. Sleep has been off the last few nights. Woke up with bad congestion this morning which is very unusual.

So maybe the calcium d-glucarate was having both positive and negative effects. I think I might try taking it every other day or split in half and see how I feel.

Ate a lot this week trying to get my energy up. The last couple of days have been much better. No weight loss for the week. Going to increase fat this week and see if that helps. Without meaning to, I think I have been eating less fat over the last month.

Very frustrating. Weight is up a lb, so in the last month I have a net +1, when I have been averaging 6 lb loss per month. The only change I can think of is I started taking colloidal silver a month ago. I lost the 1st week I took it, but then started gaining. I have cut the dosage back as far as I can, so will see if I can lose anything this week.

Hi Rich. I have read most of your thread over the last month or so, and I just want to say that I admire your perseverence and committment to solving your health issues. I hope I can become as diciplined about sticking to whatever it is I am adjusting, and truly seeing it through to results as you are! You are really an inspiration. Thanks for sharing your updates.

I gained another lb during the first half of the week and decided to stop the colloidal silver completely and see what happened. Once I stopped, I lost that lb plus one more, for a net loss of 1 lb last week. Not going to take cs again unless I have symptoms that require it. Need to try to get weight loss back on track.

I need to lose 10 lbs in next month to meet my goal date.

Lost 1 lb this week. At least I am back to my lowest weight now. 3 weeks left to target date.

Jack posted about the fact that the auditory system is a large energy user. I'm wondering if that is why I have trouble remembering what I hear. I never remember the words to songs. Last week, I noticed that I was actually hearing the words to songs rather than just hearing voices as part of the music. It only lasted a short time, but hopefully it was a sign my body is healing.

No loss this week. Energy is good on sunny days and not so good on overcast days. Sunday was the last day this year the sun gets above 50 degrees, so increasing vitamin d supplements.

One more week until a year from when I last restarted. 10 months of good weight loss and now close to nothing. I did lose a lb this week and I think my body is changing shape a little. My stomach looks a little smaller!
I have been feeling pretty good for about 2 months. I think I had 1 or maybe 2 down days, but the rest were good. Big turnaround from what it used to be - 1 or 2 good days and the rest bad.

What's strange is I started feeling good at the same time the weight loss stopped. My body seems to be in some type of balance. Still need to lose 10-20 lbs. No hurry as long as I don't start gaining.
