9 pm before I needed bp meds last couple of nights.

Tested vitamin d - 68.6 ng/mL (30-100).

Surprised it's not higher. I have been taking 15,000 iu/day, so will continue with that plus sun.

Tested aldosterone - 5.6 ng/dL (0.0-30.0).

The lab confirms that aldosterone is low. Will continue to drink 1 teaspoon of salt in water every morning and retest in 3 months.

Yesterday bp was high all day and I had to take 1+ pill at night to finally get it into 130's. This morning it was 119/65.

Yesterday fasting bg was 114, this morning it was 89.

Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason, FBG of 89 is lowest I have seen.

2 lb loss this week. Looks like I'm not going to quite read goal for this month, but my body just seems to want to hold on to the weight, but at least it is still moving down with no long stalls.

BP is still on downward trend. At 1 pm, it was still in the 130's. Took 1/2 pill anyway because I didn't want to take any chances with it. May need to set my alarm for 2 am so I can see what is happening after a few hours sleep.

Weight loss is still slow, but if I can lose at least 5 lbs a month, I will be fine. Just don't want to resort to stupid tricks to try to speed things up. Impatient!

Did labs yesterday so should have results in a couple of days.

Six months now with no cravings or binges. Lost 54 lbs in 6 months. Will be interesting to see what my 6 month labs look like. BP is down, fbg has dropped from 104-120 to high 80's.

This has been a very strange week. All of a sudden everything changed. My headache came back, my morning fatigue got worse, I want different food, gained 2 lbs, and I just don't feel right. Just got my cortisol lab results and it verifies that my morning cortisol is lower than it was 3 months ago.

I think what I need to do is restart at the beginning - big breakfast within 30 minutes of wakening, sunlight first thing in the morning, more ct, really tight ketogenic diet.

Last 2 weeks have been bad. My PSA has gone up since last test. I think it is an infection causing it. DHEA went way up over the last 5 months. Read where this also might be caused by an infection. Had a weird urinary problem where I lost 7 lbs in 1 day. Had to go every 20 minutes for 18 hours, so it looks like a bladder infection or uti. Hate to go on antibiotics, but might have to.

Cortisol went even lower, aldosterone tested low, rt3 went up and t3 went down. So everything is going in exactly the wrong direction. I have no idea as to what to do. I guess it is possible that the weight loss has dumped a huge amount of toxins into the blood and my kidneys aren't able to keep up. My bp also went back up after almost being under control for the last month. Most days over the last 2 weeks, I have had to take about twice the medication to keep bp in the 130's.

I did loose the weight I had put on last week, which now I think was just fluid retention, and lose 3 more. This is the 3rd time I have hit 250 in the last 3 weeks, but the 1st time on my weigh-in day.

Doc confirmed high PSA was likely caused by an infection, so 30 days of antibiotics. Just 1 dose of antibiotic seems to have "cleared" up problem.

She also agreed that adrenals have to get fixed before thyroid. Strange because she had her nurse call me last month and tell me doc wanted me on T3. Now she says to just increase iodine to 50 mg/day from 25.

She said some supplement I am taking at night might be the cause of low cortisol in the morning. I was taking 2 adaptogens at night, so will take them in morning. Need to do some research because I believe holy basil is supposed to be taken at night. Maybe I just need to stop taking it for a while.

Funny how much more involved doc is now that I have lost so much weight. She had given up on me and was just going through the motions up until my Jan appt when I had lost 40 lbs. Now that I have lost 55 lb, she is really listening to what I say and giving it proper consideration. Plus I got to teach her something yesterday and have her acknowledge it.

Really good energy the last week. Now I am having a little trouble sleeping. Not real bad, but still not as good as a couple of weeks ago. I stopped taking a couple of adaptogens at night and my morning cortisol seems to be higher. Doc had suggested it might be something I was taking at night that was causing morning cortisol to be low. Instead of getting energy around 11 am, I am going pretty strong by 9 am, so I think I am on the right track.

Knocked my brand new saw off the workbench and on to the floor. I was upset for about 2 minutes and then calmed right down. Nice to be able to take things in stride without getting stressed,

All that energy I had all week is about gone. Still not sleeping very well. I wonder if DHEA has gone from high to about right to low? The half-life of DHEA is 15-38 minutes and the half-life of DHEAS is 7-22 hours. I haven't taken any for over a week, so I think I will try a low dose tomorrow and see how I feel.

Felt a little better last couple of days, but nowhere near as good as I felt a couple of weeks ago. Upped coconut oil and anti-inflamatory foods. It's been 2 weeks and I don't think the antibiotic is solving the problem. Need to make appt with urologist.

Still feel a little better, but don't have the same energy I had previously. Sleep is also a little better - not so tired in the mornings.

Had blood drawn for DHEA-S lab yesterday. Should have results in a couple of days. Stopped dhea, 7-keto, and pregnenolone 2 or 3 days before lab. Will make decision when I see lab results.

Got results back. Now dhea-s is below range. So now I need to figure out how dhea could go from way over upper range to below range in 30 days.

BP was in the 120's until almost 11 pm and then shot up to 140. Still taking 1/2 clonidine at bedtime.

I think the infection is gone. DHEA test came back where I expected it to be and only had to get up 1 time for bathroom last night and full flow. Retest PSA in a week or so.

Cut way back on supplements. It may be coincidence but 3 years ago I was using testosterone cream and had PSA jump to 14. Urologist suspected uti, so 30 days of antibiotics and PSA came back down. This time I was taking dhea to increase dhea and testosterone and PSA jumped to 6+. So the only 2 times this has happened that I know of, I was taking steroids. Haven't figured out exactly what to do with this information. I think I read that dhea can lead to enlarged prostate and cause urinary problems which can lead to uti. If that is what is happening, I may just have to accept low hormone levels or at least not directly supplementing.

Sleep was getting better until last night. I had some coconut manna about 7 pm, so maybe that was what caused the sleep problem.

Haven't counted calories in about 7 months. I'm guessing I eat between 1700 and 2500 a day.

Unusual week. Finished 30 days of antibiotics and retested PSA and it was exactly the same as before anti-biotics. Going to really push coconut oil and anti-inflammatories this month and then retest. Just started Quercetin with Bromelain and it is supposed to reduce inflammation and also is reported to reduce BPH. Also started Magnesium l-threonate which crosses the blood brain barrier and is supposed to improve sleep and cognitive functions.

On Wednesday I bought (and ate) a half gallon of ice cream. First time in over 7 months that something like this has happened. I'm going to chalk it up to taking antibiotics and make sure I get my gut back in good shape. Started oil pulling and increasing intake of coconut oil. Not going to stress about it unless it happens again. Ended up with a 3 lb weight gain for the week. Hopefully this is just a small bump in the road.

Regained 3 lbs for week.

My body is really fighting me. Stayed on plan all week, but was hungry most days even when I had a huge breakfast. Scales went up and down, but ended up the week even.

BP is higher the last 2 weeks, legs feel like I ran 2 miles, and fatigue is back.

Think I have figured out a couple of problems. I was running low on mag malate so I took only half a dose for the last 2 weeks. Increased mag a couple of days ago and bp dropped back down.

Weight is at the lowest point I have been in years and I think my body is having trouble getting rid of toxins. I have slacked off a little on detox so back to taking full doses plus I ordered DIM and calcium d glutarate. Both are supposed to be good for detox and also reduce estrogen levels (estrogen is stored in fat and released into blood stream when fat is lost).

If it is toxins, that would explain the sudden craving for ice cream. I have been fine for over 10 days, so I think I may have caught things in time. I was getting real hungry every day and that went away several days ago after I increased coconut oil.

Weight loss finally started again. Lost the 3 lbs from the ice cream plus 1 extra. No night time bathroom trips for the 1st time in several months. Energy is a little better than it has been over the last month, but still not back to where it was a couple of months ago.

I think the oil pulling with coconut oil and the coconut manna at lunch are critical pieces of recent improvement. Also, increased magnesium seems to be helping bp. Started riding bike. Problem is I live on top of a hill so leaving the house is easy but getting back home is a pain. Last try I at least made it halfway up the hill before I had to get off and walk.

My legs are killing me. I did a little bike riding over the last 10 days, but can't believe that would cause this much discomfort. Also have been tired this week. Sleeping much better, so don't know what is causing fatigue.

Good week weight wise. Lost the 3 ice cream lbs plus 2 more, so 5 lbs down for the week. That puts me at the lowest I have been in about 20 years.

Got my order of dim and calcium d-glucarate Friday. Took 1 of each. Started getting tightness in chest and anxious feeling. Also bp went very high that evening.

Saturday, only took dim. Same thing happened, so I know it is the dim. Only difference was this time bp went down, but still had extreme fatigue, chest tightness, and anxious. Also had really vivid dream that I remembered in great detail when I woke up. So no more dim. Will try the calcium by itself.

Legs still hurt. It may be from riding bike, but it has been over 2 days and legs still hurt. Energy still low.

I just want to say congrats! You seem to have found the plan that works for you and your results are just incredible. I remember all your struggles. I still have not found something to stick to. Do you eat low carb on the leptin reset?
