I think TOM has EVERYTHING to do w/ your 2 pound weight gain and your hormones. Maybe wait till TOM is gone then weight yourself, I think it will be fine...hang in there!

Hello!
it does sound like TOM is to blame for the two pound weight gain (which is nothing) and your hormones.....hang in there, it will pass. I think you are doing great on your exercises.

Well, I haven't posted this weekend and now I think I don't remember my exercising! Let's see,
Friday: Evolution
Saturday: Cardio - WATP
Sunday - 1/2 hour (not counting)
Monday - 1 hour 10 in 10

I think that's right. I think I'm one hour off in my siggie, but I'd rather be one hour short than one hour over.

Starting to write down my eating today so I can figure my percentages. I hate to put my diet under a microscope, because then I tend to get anal and obsessed, but I need to take a closer look since I'm really not dropping any pounds.

Ds got a stomach virus yesterday, it hit right in the middle of my exercise, so i only got in 1/2 hour. It lasted all day (and through the night) and today he's home, but seems to be better. He's holding down the simple carbs - toast, rice, crackers. I think he'll be back to school tomorrow. He had a friend sleepover on Saturday - hope the poor kid doesn't get sick, too!

DH will be off tonight for a business trip. I'm going to try to hang the curtains I made for the bedroom while he's gone - I've had them made for months, but can't get up the energy to put them up. Same with curtains and valance for the office. What's wrong with me? I lose all energy and get depressed during the winter, and even during the days when the kids are at school. Exercise has helped.

I'm feeling great about getting back to TRUE induction today, and spent a few hours this morning cooking and marinating so I'll have options. I know that my fat and pant size won't move no matter how much exercise I do unless I get this diet under control. I'm just too big right now to see the changes I'm making doing Callanetics.

So, a new month - going to try to stick to TRUE induction, at least for 2 weeks and see what happens. Can't believe pools are going to open at the end of this month. EEEEK!

Well, one day back to strict induction is rewarded. Yesterday I was 157.6, today 156.

I had to fight off the urges for mac nuts last night - that was my only craving. I'm keeping my fats higher (easy with bacon around) so that always helps too. I didn't get enough veggies yesterday, so I'll have to make sure to have that salad at lunch.

Hi Sue,
Just wanted to come through to give ya some support. You seem to be doing great with the workouts. I can understand the frustration with the eating, I'm trying to do a clean induction too. Wishing you much success!

155.2 Yippee!

Upping my fat is definitely helping, as is not eating the nuts! Portion control is so hard for me. I'm starting to eat less. I had about 10 wings available for lunch yesterday. I decided to only heat 4, and then see if I was still hungry. Four was fine, especially with blue cheese dressing with extra blue cheese mixed in. Other times I'd have warmed 6 or maybe more. Didn't even eat my veggies (cabbage) until later in the afternoon, when I got hungry again.

I am having one cup of hot cocoa - it has water, 1 tsp cocoa powder, 2 drops sweetzfree and 1 Tbl heavy cream - in the afternoon. I'm guessing this is not TRUE induction, but I feel I need something sweet after the kids come home and start to chow down on snacks! Actually, they don't eat that much, but I do have a weak hour around 3 to 4. If it doesn't stall me, I'll continue, but if the weight loss stops, I'll know where to look! At least I'm not eating nuts along with the drink! I've always been successful drinking flavored tea, even with a bit of heavy cream in it - especially in the evening if snacking monster hits. That works quite well, so I'll have to keep it in mind.

I've been reading a lot of the recipe threads and am amazed at some of the things people dream up. How creative. I want to start my own cookbook at home with these recipes copied so I know what to make for my family when it's time to cook. I got a new recipe manager software, but haven't gone farther than loading it on my computer. Have to figure that one out, and add some of these great recipes!

154.2

Yesterday I didn't drink anything extra, to make sure I stayed in in ketosis. I used a keto stick and I'm in medium ketosis this morning - this is more than usual. Usually I'm only showing a trace.

Exercise wise:

M: ?
T: WATP
W: 10 in 10
T: Evolution
F: CardioCallanetics
S:
S:

Gotta start keeping better track of the exercise - I don't remember what I did last weekend.

I've got 20 hours of Callanetics in so far. I'll re-measure again soon. I still haven't gone down a size yet, but I'm definitely wearing things differently. I feel my muscles underneath, and feel so much stronger. I am fitting into some pants that are size 10, but also still fitting into the 12's. So, moving in the right direction, but no miracles yet. Really, though, how long have I been at this? Only weeks. What can I expect?

Hey, Susan.

Just noticed your journal here as I was beginning to head over to mine, wanted to say hey and cheer you on.

I noticed in a recent self-post of yours that your weak hours were between 3 - 4 pm.....ME TOO. I think we'd do great in Spain....that's when they take afternoon siestas -- it does a body good! -- and my belief is that my energy level dips about then, and rather than true hunger, it's a need for energy and/or rest.

Keep up the good work. The Callanetics is a miracle workout, I'm telling you from my heart. I've tried SO MANY different kinds of workouts, and I've YET to find something that comes close to the deep targeting/strengthening/flexibility emphasis that is developed with Callanetics.

Don't forget the imp of cardio however. I don't do the same amount of cardio every week. Vary it, but add intensity occasionally when you do your cardio. Gives an edge for fat burning, K?

Have a great day.

Lost a little weight - 154.0

Did Evolution today. Feeling really strong about my eating, although I ate chicken salad w/a salad and guacomole today for lunch and I'm feeling stuffed. I think my chicken portion was too big. I'll try to keep it small the rest of the day - I'm just not that hungry.

Tried on my old size 10 jeans today. One I can get on but is too tight to wear comfortably, and the other just misses the button (without forcing). So, that is good news - in a few weeks I'll be in my 10's in time to start summer. I REALLY didn't want to go out and buy shorts in size 12! Exercising is also going well - need to step up that cardio though for maximum fat burning. I'll try to fit in 1/2 hour later today.

Hanging in there - a boring day today. Did WATP dvd for cardio, no Callanetics. Making Linda Sue's Beef Stroganoff today - kids are sick of meals with no carbs so I have to find things they can have with pasta, etc.

The kids hated the stroganoff. I thought it was delicious. Once again, nothing to feed the entire family.

Yesterday the scale jumped to 154.4 but today it's down to 153.8. Like the second number better. Need to stop focusing on that scale number because it's too volatile.

I measured myself against my 3/25 numbers and have lost 6 3/4 inches so far, mostly off waist, abs and thighs. Gotta love that! I'm down 8 pounds. Not bad for 7 weeks work. My clothes are fitting better and I think I'll drop a size within a few weeks. I've never been one that the weight just drops off quickly - I have to take my ounces here and there and stay in a straight line so that eventually it all adds up and I've lost some decent amount of weight and size. Doing exercise probably slows the number down further, since my muscles are (hopefully) growing. That's OK, though, as long as my size is shrinking.

Today I did Evolution, but still need to finish the stomach. My body was shaking and quivering, so I want to make sure I have enough energy to do them right. Yesterday I had awesome stretches: my forehead touched my knees during side stretches and my toe touched the floor during lower back stretch. I wonder if today my body is still recovering or something.

I'm up again - 0.6 lb. I'm ignoring it. I really need to stop weighing everyday. I wore my size 10 yesterday which fit comfortably. Most of my other size 10's fit but I feel they are too tight. The cellulite on my butt shows through those lighter weight capris!

So here's a lesson to me. Yesterday we had storemade meatballs (fresh) because I've been too busy to cook. I also had some for lunch today, but they were homemade (from the freezer). With the small amount of breading in those meatballs, I'm now at trace levels of ketones on the stick and today I'm grazing. Right now I'm eating roast turkey dipped in mayo with my 2nd hot cocoa of the day. Doesn't help that it's 50 degrees and pouring all day. Plus, a very good old friend called and I spent 1hr 20 mins on the phone and blew off my cardio dvd. SO, if I don't fit it in tonight, it's a day of no exercise on top of it all. How quickly we fall off the mountain!

I did no exercise at all Friday, Saturday or Sunday for various reasons. Friday was a day off, but I was going to do cardio anyway. Today is Monday, I'll try to fit in what I can, at least a Callan dvd, and if I have time, maybe some cardio too.

Weighed 153.4 today. Good number. I'm getting anxious to get rid of the fifty in there and make it down to the 140's. I know that with Callanetics I'll lose sizes rather than pounds, and many are talking about gaining or not losing at all even though they are way down, but still I can't carry this kind of weight around normally. I need to at least be near 140, which is where my body seems to stall out all the time. I think below that is where I'm really going to have to fight for smaller sizes or smaller numbers on the scale, as if it's not hard enough already at the higher weight!

Our internet service has been dragging along for a few days now, so I hope this posts. I'll keep it short.

I checked my journal from last year this time, and I'm 2 lbs heavier, but I'm smaller. I had written I was having trouble getting size 10's over my legs and butt, and was still wearing the 12's, which I am now, too. But, I can get my 10's on and zipped, I just feel uncomfortable wearing them so tight in the butt - I'm not a young girl anymore! So, I really feel that the Callanetics are helping to make me smaller, even if the scale is affected. I'll take smaller size over smaller number any day, but sure would be nice to have them both!

Just wanted to add I finished one hour 10 in 10. Also, last year this time I was just getting sick, and wound up getting pneumonia, which ended June 6th, and resulted in me dropping 6 lbs. So I guess I can't compare last years progress to this years anymore. I did make a not though in mid June that although I was at 145, I was flabby due to no exercising. I REALLY hope this exercising will make the difference this time around. Need to keep it going through the summer, so the boys and I will have fun, be healthy, and most importantly for me personally, I won't fall off my exercise and eating plan. I really don't want to give in and wind up giving up again - struggling through fall and winter only to re-start again in April.

Making a lovely dinner tonight of chicken cooked with shallots, vermouth, and cream sauce, with broccoli and homemade fries. I promised the boys I'd try them - first time. Yesterday I had a great fresh mozzarella stuffed chicken breast rolled, then cooked in a fresh tomato/cream/basil sauce. It was great - from a restaurant - and I had the second piece for lunch today. I'm going to have to look that one up online. I suppose the shallots and a few other things aren't strictly induction, but I'm not eating many and it tastes so fresh and good.

Well, the sauce didn't turn out quite right - the chicken was enormous on the bones and had to cook too long, so the shallots were burned tasting. Cream didn't help. The chicken itself was good, so I'll make either a cream sauce or a cheese sauce for the leftovers. Kids gobbled the broccoli I guess I need to make it more often.

152.4 today - I must remember that I do very well weight-wise when I stick to real foods. Now I'm really getting anxious for the 140's but I'm sure it will be a ways away since I've seemed to drop a bit this week. Four days ago the scale was still jumping to 154.4, so 2 lbs is probably about my limit for awhile.

Today my plan is a big cardio in the morning, then shower and get my hair done. I like to not wash my hair the day after I get it colored, so the color keeps longer. So, I'll do cardio early, then do 2 days of Callanetics, since I don't really sweat that much that my hair needs washing. Can't wait to get my hair done.

Still hanging in there with the induction. Didn't exercise quite as much this week, and am having many guests, so I may or may not get much in this weekend. Today was Evolution, and Wednesday was WATP - 2 mile. Didn't do anything on Thursday - I guess I was lazy!
