Looks like the water weight from my bad day is dropping off. Thank goodness. I had planned to treat myself to Pizzeria Uno for my bday on Sunday, but after this little detour I don't think so! |

Mandy,
Great job getting back on track...I think that is the hardest part. One thing I want to say is, try not to beat yourself up about DH's job hunt. Just my 2 cents, but marriage is always a give and take and his job search is something you can support him about, but you can't control it at all. I am the worst "control freak" around, so I speak from experience! Thanks for your kind words in my journal. I appreciate your encouragement. Peace |

Whew, what a relief to be back near my low weight! I was still peeing a lot today so I might be even lower tomorrow. Right now I am drinking coffee and unwinding from my day but soon I AM GOING TO DO A VIDEO! Kick my tush if I don't, okay? Thanks Jaimie for your kind words. My husband is doing a great job sending out resumes and interviewing, and I think he will land something soon. I feel bad though that he will almost certainly have to commute 45 minutes or more, when my commute is under ten minutes. I know that's something he hates. He pretty much had an offer of employment from a place 30 minutes away, but that fell through, I think they don't have enough work to take on another person (architecture). I keep telling myself that this house is only rented for a year and then we can move somewhere in between where we each work. We are kind of broke from moving and my school loans but I make good money now and even if he wasn't working we could dig ourselves out without too much suffering. But it seems like a man's identity is so wrapped up in his ability to work, you know?

I did do my video yesterday. I was surprised that it didn't feel very hard. I didn't even have to shower after. I wold have thought that being as out of shape as I am even a beginner WATP would tire me out. I will do one of the harder ones that is still only 30 minutes next. Goal is 3 videos (30 min each) this week plus 2 long walks with the dogs. If I meet that I am going to the spray tan booth! Seems like I'm NEVER going to get that darn pedicure at 160, but I guess I'll enjoy it all the more for having worked for it. ![]() Last edited by PalmTreeGal : 05-06-2008 at 04:30 AM. |

I am feeling really frustrated. I have essentially been bouncing around the same weight range for a month now. I did have that really bad day last week, and a couple smaller cheats, but overall I have been so consistent and I have a lot more weight to lose! I am going nuts wondering should I quit nuts, should I quit fresh dairy, should I limit my calories, should I should I should I? One thing I know I am doing is starting to exercise (hour-long dog walk yesterday) and if that causes my weight to go up I will lose my mind! I am not tracking carbs terribly closely right now because my Palm Pilot is out of commission (puppy chewed the power cord so I can't charge it). I don't think I'm allowing "carb creep" to happen but I suppose it is a possibility. It will be a few more days until the new cord arrives and I hate Fitday (and have never tried The Daily Plate) so counting carbs will just have to wait until then. I guess worst case is I go back to Induction. Jaimie, I have been feeling that pedicure come on for weeks now and it's not coming any faster! ![]() Jen, what you need for WATP depends on which DVD. Some involve funky equipment but I stick to the ones which only use 2-pound hand weights. You can do them without the weights and still get a decent workout as well. Fage is a very yummy thick Greek yogurt. |

Hang in there. I am in the same boat, although my stall is just a few days. People tell me to eat more veggies? Maybe if you try to cut out the nuts, your weight will go back down? What about TOM....is it close? That may be another reason

Overate yogurt today. Feeling rather desperate about lack of loss. Will I have to starve again to succeed at this? |

Wonderful journal! I do the WATP Walk Away Your Waistline with the resistance belt and you get a good fast 3 miles and I am noticing differences after 18 hrs and also doing Callanetics. I was able to jump right into the WATP and complete the 3 miles and I have Fibro. It definitely makes me sweat and gets my heart rate up there. Since you are exercising are you eating enough calories? Hang in there-the stall will pass! ![]() |

Mandy,
Just hang in there! I go through periods of no losses every few months. It's like your body just doesn't want to turn loose of that fat. I'm SOOOO sore! I paid a personal trainer to develop a torture program for me and did lunges and ab workout along with weights this week. Those muscles hadn't been tested in years! It's amazing that jogging doesn't hurt, only sitting, standing, breathing, moving...lol. Good luck for the weekend! Kim |

Hi Mandy! You are really doing well despite your setbacks!
Don't starve yourself! Go back to what you were doing. Throw a nice pork roast in. Lot of leafy greens. You can get right back into ketosis again with out suffering at all! Sending positive thoughts and prayers for DH to find something! I know what you mean about Men having their job as so much of their identity. Bless you both! |

161.6 yesterday and today
Today is my 31st bday and I am taking it off. DH just went to buy me some doughnuts and I think we are going to Pizzeria Uno for supper. I'm hoping pressing the "reset" button will help me buckle down next week. As well, I just feel like a day off and what better excuse than a birthday! Thanks Lisa, Deb and Kim for your support! |

Thanks for the birthday wishes!
I really enjoyed the doughnuts, pizza and wine yesterday! What I didn't enjoy was the bloaty overstuffed feeling or the knowledge that I was eating mass-produced food with all the nutrition stripped from it. So I guess LC/whole foods is becoming part of who I am, even if I'm not losing weight like I'd like to be. Last week I did not come close to meeting my exercise goals, so I'm trying again. Three DVDs, two dog walks, and I get a trip to the spray tan booth. I'm also taking some steps back on the carb ladder to try and figure out why I haven't been losing. I'm going to quit nuts, except Almond Breeze, and yogurt for the week. I'm going to keep carbs under 30 although they will probably be lower than that, given that I'm basically eating Induction foods. So we will see where this goes and then I can add things back in and figure out where I went wrong. The strangest thing happened the other day - one of the days where I ate two huge bowls of Greek yogurt. I threw in some frozen blackberries even though I'm not on the fruit rung - I was just feeling frustrated and wanting something different. (They were delish, by the way!) And then I had to get up three or four times in the night to pee, and I was peeing large volumes each time. I was down two pounds the next morning! I knew it was water but I couldn't figure out why. Then I remembered someone here posting that blackberries can have a diuretic effect. They sure did on me, two pounds worth of diuresis! I did do a 2 DVDs today (30 min cardio and 30 min stretching/relaxation) and was surprised that the cardio part wasn't as hard as I expected. I kind of wanted it to kick my butt so my mind could stop racing and feel less anxious. Maybe I'll upgrade to one of the cardio/Pilates DVDs tomorrow, they always kill me. |

Wow, I can't believe my weight isn't higher after all the garbage food and salt over the weekend! I got my hair done last week and I am hating it. It was a new stylist since I am new to the area. The cut is okay, a little "feathery" for my taste but I can cope. But the color! The blonde highlights look brassier every time I look in the mirror. I am kind of hesitant to go back to have her "fix" them since I didn't like the way she did it in the first place. Also, what can be done to color-treated hair? You can't re-highlight, right? But I hate my hair! |

You can always go a shade or two darker to cover up the highlights.

Jen, I want to have blonde highlights, just not brassy ones! But I don't think it's possible. You're probably right, I would have to color my whole head darker.

I'm sure this is payback for Saturday. Also I had deli meat yesterday and that always seems to make me bump up, I assume it's the salt. Interestingly, I had very faintly pink strips yesterday but not this morning. I ate on plan yesterday so I don't know why that happened. Regardless, I will be back in ketosis soon eating on plan, and hopefully dropping a pound or two of water. Also wondering if I'm retaining a bit of water from exercising today and yesterday. I am calling the salon today to get my hair fixed. It is waaay too red! |

you are probably right about the temporary setback. The sticks are really a guideline, I can be moderate and then a few hours later have nothing with no diet changes. They are fickle! Good luck with your hair!

Yuck, feeling frustrated, but still going to stick to my quasi-Induction plan! And I will do a DVD while dinner is in the oven. My hair is better, the stylist lightened up the "blonde" so it's more blonde and less red. I still don't love and and waaay don't love the cut. I have the name of a stylist from a girl I work with who has adorable hair and I will try that person next, because this one was obviously a total wash! Thanks for stopping by, Kim and Jaimie. ![]() |
