I don't know how we did it, but we're all packed and ready to go. The movers will be here at 8:30 am. I know we'll be totally exhausted by the end of the night. So are you the kind of person that unpacks every box immediately, or do you still have boxes packed from your last move? DH and I are both the we have to unpack every box right away kind of people. I predict all of the boxes will be unpacked by Sunday night. Edited to add, it's a good thing I was too busy to watch that game last night. Grrrrrrrrrr this is going to be tough to come back from.

Good Monday Morning
I have no idea what my weight is since I can't find the scale yet. I feel like I'm up a bit mainly because I'm so swolen. Hopefully I'll find the scales today as it drives me a little crazy to not weigh. My prediction of having all of the boxes unpacked by Sunday night was just a little off I'm close though; only about 10 left for inside the house then will have to help DH work on the garage. Our tenant at one of our other houses moved out this weekend too. We did the walk through yesterday and he left the house perfect That was such a relief. We have it rented starting the 1st but the gal renting it wanted to start moving some boxes to the garage so we gave her a key yesterday. DH said this morning she must already have 100 boxes in the garage. It's nice to know someone has more crap than I do ![]() Time to get to work, have a great memorial day. |

I knew I'd be up a bit this morning. I ate way off plan all weekend long so I'm surprised it's not worse than that, although sometimes my scale increases don't show up for a day or two. Last night I wasn't feeling so hot so I'm sure the diet played a big part in that. I've forgotten my fish oil supplement also the past 4 days so my joints are just screaming. Now if I can just get back on plan today. I WILL get back on plan today....there, that's better. Yesterday was a tough one but I did manage to get the rest of the inside boxes unpacked and put away. The garage is left though and there are probably as many boxes. Most of that is Christmas decorations that just need to be stored. I am going into the office today then hopefully taking the rest of the week off to work on the other two houses changing over and finish up this one. Hopefully the tile guys are back at it today here so we can have our master bath back. We decided to only put the treadmill inside the house, the weight bench will stay in the garage. DH didn't want the kids horsing around with the weights and dropping one through the ceiling Maybe when all of the kids are out of the house I'll put it up there. Although I've dropped a weight a time or two myself I might just have to deal with it in the garage, but I was so looking forward to having everything in one room and where I could easily get to it. Happy Tuesday! |

Hi Leenie!
Sounds like you've had a fun AND productive holiday weekend! I had some fun off-plan meals as well but am in a much better place. More about that in my journal if I can get to it tonight!
I unpack everything I NEED as soon as I can. That said, there ARE some boxes in the garage that we've carried with us through a couple of moves. I wonder what the HECK is IN those boxes! ![]() So, yeah, your Spurs are getting a little out of hand! It's all good. I don't even know when the next game is. Exciting!!!I laughed outloud at your hubby's shopping ideas. I don't like leaving things to Pat either. Once in a great while she tries to rearrange something and then I wait for her to go to bed, and put it back! Control Queen, your table is ready ....

![]() ![]() on the T-shirt!!!!!I hate moving! I hate where I'm living now and wish I could move - but the actual moving - !!!!!!! I'm like you - I have to put everything away as soon as possible! Dh will just leave it where it lays! He's so funny - everything in his tool box is arranged just so - but then he leaves the darn toolbox wherever he was using it! He's so I'm OCD but I say I'm just tidy and organized!!! |

Hey, it's always good to have one tidy and organized one in the house!
I'd say my husband is pretty tidy but not the least bit organized if that makes any sense. I would described him as the project starter, we're both project executors and I'm the project finisher. It's a great balance! Ev, I'm so bummed out our Spurs lost. Congratulations to your Lakers!I was sick yesterday. I hadn't been feeling well for the past few days and thought it was just because I had been doing so much and running on empty for quite some time. It finally hit me hard yesterday so I ended up spending most of the day and night in bed. I feel pretty darn good today so maybe that's just what I needed. |

![]() Totally get you on the dh thing. My dh is quite tidy but very disorganized! Every morning before work I have to get up and look for his keys, his sunglasses, his stamp, his rank .........I got him a basket to put everything in so he would know where it is. The basket has everything BUT all that stuff in it!!!!!!! LOL! Glad you're feeling better! Sometimes a day is just what your body needs - especially at our age!!!!!!! |

Maryam, congratulations to your daughter, she's beautiful! Ev, sounds like you had a great time with your daughter! Well, let's see what have I been up to? Lots. The work on the house is still progressing along but at a more manageable pace. The tile guys are almost finished in the master bath so I should have my bath back soon. I absolutely love the tile we picked out and can't stop going in there to look at it ![]() The one thing this new house is lacking compared to our old is storage. At our old place we had a very large attic area with plenty of room to store the Christmas decorations, suitcases, folding tables, chairs, etc. This new house has no attic storage area to speak of. It does have some large built ins in the garage area and just enough to hold the Christmas decorations and suitcases. I'm not sure what I'll do with the other stuff I had in the attic. Maybe I should just get rid of it DH's oldest son will be moving back home this Saturday. He's tried living on his own for the past 6 months but it's not quite working out for him. I'm not sure what we'll do with all of his stuff so we'll likely have to rent a storage unit. Good times ![]() Oh I forgot to mention, DH and I finally made it to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse last Saturday evening for dinner. It was fabulous! I had the rib eye and it was cooked to perfection. DH had a mixed grill; filet, stuffed chicken breast and crab cake. We had a $100 gift card to use up and that didn't quite cover the total bill. I doubt we ever go there again unless we get another gift card We're so cheap when it comes to dining out but I must say I rather enjoyed the wonderful service.Time for me to get ready for work. It will be another long day at the office. |

Ev - Thanks! And so nice to hear you had a great time with your DD!!!!!
Leenie - I see you're down 2lbs! ![]() Great work! To be honest I don't remember the last time I stepped on the scales! I have one in the bathroom but it just isn't an issue for me. If my clothes start feeling tight, I may jump on! I'm so envious of you, with all your home improvements! You can't imagine how much I dream of the day we can start on our villa! DH got his land so we are just waiting for the title and the loan (government gives an interest free loan of 2million dhs) so we can start building! That will be a happy day!

Hi Leenie! I just wanted to tell you I still read your journal daily even though I haven't posted. Your steady loss is fabulous, and your active life is so impressive. I'd probably be skinny already if I spent my spare time remodelling!

Maryam, I'm not sure I would survive building a house! I hope that comes quickly for you. An interest free loan sounds wonderful! How much is 2 mil dhs in $$? Hi Mandy! Good to see you. I'd be down more if we'd go to the grocery store instead of eating out as much as we have been. The master bath is finished! It just looks fabulous! I had a little trouble finding an 84" length shower curtain but finally came up with a solution. I did find an 84" liner so used that and also regular panels. I promise I'll get pictures up soon but will have to wait until I get my laptop back. We still have so much to do but are getting there a little at a time. Today we shopped half of the day. Went to a store called "The Habitat Home Center". It's a store with all of the leftovers donated to The Habitat for Humanity. They have some pretty cool stuff at reasonable prices. We were looking for a couple repacement kitchen cabinet doors but didn't find those and instead bought a 3 piece sectional for the loft for $250. One side is a love seat/full size sleeper sofa and the other is love seat size double recliner. It will be perfect for the kids. We then headed to our home away from home, The Home Depot and bought all of the towel bars, toilet paper holders, etc for the bathrooms. We looked for new lighting for the bathrooms and kitchen and didn't find quite what we want so will have to continue the hunt for those items. Tomorrow I hope to get the upstairs bath completely done. I still need to paint that cabinet and the walls. That's the only unpainted room and since our master is done I can take that one out of service to get it finished. The cabinet and doors are already sanded and ready to primer/paint so it shouldn't take too long to knock that out. DH's oldest was supposed to be moving back today but we didn't hear a word from him. I'm not sure what is going on there so we'll have to figure that out tomorrow also. |

Can't wait to see pictures! It sounds beautiful! I'm going to really enjoy doing our house, insha'allah sometime in the next 5 years. Dhs 2m = $550,000 (approximately). It's enough to build a pretty nice villa!

Thanks guys, I must have had a little whoosh as it's not normal for the scale to drop over the weekend. It's nice to see the 180's again and I feel like I'm finally getting somewhere! My laptop is still in the shop Hopefully it's fixed today. Have a great week! |

Didn't weigh
I'm so sick I started feeling a little "off" on Tuesday and by Wednesday it hit me. I've been coming to work but not getting a whole lot accomplished between trips to the bathroom. I know, TMI. I thought I should start feeling better today but I'm sure not. I may be dehydrated so am drinking water and may stop and pick up some Pedialite at lunch time. I haven't eaten much at all since it goes right through me so am forcing myself to eat a little something. I suppose I should see a doctor if this doesn't go away soon. |

I'm alive! I wouldn't recommend my latest diet I finally felt better yesterday and was able to eat a little more. Hopefully today I'll be back to normal so I don't expect the scale to stay where it's at today. I tried on a couple of old size 12's I have hanging around here and I'm close. Not quite there but close. I could get the jeans buttoned and zipped but I couldn't breath In spite of feeling bad all weekend I still managed to get quite a bit of work done around here. We hung most of the pictures, got the big TV mounted on the wall, rearranged furniture a few times , did some cleaning. Yesterday I did make it out of the house a couple hours to do a little shopping. I found the fabric I'll use to make a new headboard and cover the seat on my hope chest. I bought enough to make some pillows too so I think that will look nice in the bedroom. I was even brave enough to venture into Wal Mart. I really hate shopping there, hate the parking lot, hate the store. I'm not sure what possessed me to go there yesterday Anyway, I was checking out their selection of curtains and found some nearly identical to what I had already bought at Penneys for $17.50 LESS per panel. The only difference is the ones I got at Penneys have the grommets at the top and these don't. Hmmmm I like the grommets but I think for the difference in price I can live without them. I need 20 panels for the downstairs alone. I think I can find something else fun to spend that $350 on. Time to run, my husband's oldest son has his high school graduation ceremony this morning then we're heading out to lunch together. Have a good week! |

Here's a pic of the my husband and I and my stepson after his graduation today. Get a look at that T shirt. His junior year he had his IQ measured at 130 but is a self proclaimed slacker
He's a great kid and although somewhat of a slacker now, I'm sure he will be very successful some day. I predict he'll be a college professor at a very liberal university. He plans on going to college and majoring in Marine Biology so guess time will tell how it all plays out.![]() |

Hi Leenie! Congrats to your stepson! I LOVE that shirt (and can think of at least two of my two sons who could sport it). LOL

Leenie I read your journal cause we're the same age and I've been finishing my basement -- I'm from Louisiana and I think us Southern women get into that a lot more!!
I love your stepson's t-shirt...it gives me hope for my youngest son (16) cause he's really smart but is a gamer (computer geek) and barely manages a 3.0 each year - and that's doing almost nothing! He lives in our just finished basement and just plays games all day and night. On the up side, he never gets into any trouble!! We did have to put a blocker on our computers though... Glad you're feeling better! --Lisa-- |

Unfortunately I passed that bug around at work and now my business partner has it.
Ev, sorry about your Lakers ![]() Hi Lisa! Yep, he's a gamer too. I honestly can not believe the HOURS he can spend sitting in one place playing games. We were concerned when he was younger as he didn't have much of a social life but he's quite the social butterfly now, has a girlfriend, etc. However, the gaming has still been an issue with him. He can't pull himself away to do the things he needs to do. We're not too worried about it though. Real life with deadlines has smacked him upside the head He has a deadline to either find a job or get enrolled in college for the fall semester or he'll have to hit the road. Tell me what you did to your basement! |

Nice picture! My dd should be so lucky! She struggles so hard just to get a "B" average in school. But she is determined to get her degree. She is naturally beautiful, popular, sociable and very likable but the academic stuff comes very hard for her. Guess no one gets to "have it all"!!!!!
Congrats on the weight loss - though I think I'll pass on the diet plan!!!!! ![]() We have had absolutely NO luck finding a new place to live. Everything is so expensive and there is such a shortage of adequate rentals. Don't know what we will end up doing. |
