Making it Happen in 2008

Hello. I am starting a journal, and I will stick to it. I am ready to finish what I started a year ago. I lost 20-25 lbs last year and now I am ready to complete that part of my journey.

I am at this point where I am having a hard time being really committed to eating cleanly all the time. My friends are really into having meals together and trying new restaurants and I basically just LOVE food and good company. I know I need to make priorities and stick to them.

I am really getting into weight training lately. I started at the end of November and I can really tell I am getting stronger, and I actually have a visible bicep which is totally crazy! I also like to run and I am going to do a 5k for St Patricks day.

I am going to officially weigh in and measure tomorrow morning.

Okay, I did the stat change of shame

Here it is:

Weight 152
Waist 29"
Hips 38.5"
Thigh 23"
Rib cage 33"
Chest 37"
Above chest 33.5"
Bicep 12"

I feel really bloated today. And ugly. I had a fall the other day and I have a huge shiner. Add to that bloat and exhaustion, ugh...

I'll be back to update on eats.

Good news is I was down a pound today. Of course, water weight, but I feel less bloated today which is good.

Today's Plan

B- I tried to eat some cottage cheese but i just couldn't do the texture this morning. I had some oatmeal and PB instead.
L- tuna salad
D- meatloaf w/ faux mashed potatoes

I will do weights and cardio this afternoon after lunch sometime. My knees have been pretty banged up but I'm ready to try.

Thanks, I will take care of them!

Today went well for food and I did a light workout. I am convinced I am getting sick, I fell asleep right in the middle of an episode of ghost hunters! Even though I got a day off this week already, I am really looking forward to the weekend. I just want to sleep for 15 hours and play with my dog.

I'm training for a 5k in March and I am anxious to get out and run. I just couldn't today, probably being sick and all. GRR.

D- chef salad with ranch
S- cheese stick

Total: 1367

Oh, and since this is my journal I can write whatever I want! So, anyway, I need to vent a little about Target's sizes of pants. This might sounds silly to you but I was trying on pants and in the trouser jeans style, the one that fit me was a 4! HA HA HA, I am no size four. Then that little voice in my head said to buy them because they had a 4 on the tag, but I overcame and put them back.

Women's sizes are stupid!

The weekend was good, I wish I could have slept in today but, alas I am at work. Oh well. Still at 149, but I measured and am down .5 inch in the waist and hips. But I'll officially do the measuring Wednesday because that's a week.

Todays Plan:

B- Left over steak, half a banana
L- tuna salad with shredded cheese
S- almonds? I don't know yet.
D- Taco salad (really looking forward to this!)

Same weight today. Eh. I've been really good too. I'm not expecting to lose weight everyday but it's really really cool to see the scale lower.

One thing that I'm slightly embarrassed to say is that my main goal is to have a normal looking stomach. I have never been comfortable in a bathing suit, except before puberty but then I didn't care anyway. Now I am really working on cutting body fat to be lean enough to wear a Freaking bikini for once in my life. I do see much improvement from a year ago but I'm still not there yet. My real goal isn't 130 lbs- it's whatever weight I am when I can finally go to the beach in a two piece.

I don't think you should be embarrassed at all. We all need many different motivators to get us to goal and to keep us there. You'll get there!

week one, down!

Here is the update:

Here it is:

Weight 149
Waist 28" -1"
Hips 38" -.5"
Thigh 23" Same
Rib cage 32.5" -.5"
Chest 36" -1"
Above chest 33.5" same
Bicep 12" 11.75 -".25

I am feeling better and thinner. Still working on getting enough veggies and creating interesting meals. Last night we went to trivia night and I had a couple drinks. Calculated out to be about 200 calories and 0 carbs but it made me so so hungry. Will rethink that next time.

Bah, up a pound today for no reason.

You know? I take that back. I've been sick and actually stayed home yesterday. I made a cheesy pasta casserole with dreamfields and ate 2 portions. It was gooooood and my DH didn't notice I used "healthy" noodles, ha ha ha. Anyway, maybe that had something to do with it, or the fact I am TOM now, or whatever. I'm not going to let it get to me!

Things have been so boring at work lately I find myself online here. I feel slightly guilty, though I am not breaking any rules being online I just know I could be more productive.

I skipped my workout yesterday so I am definitely going to do it today. Other things that need to get done is dishes, laundry, and vacuuming. Being at home yesterday really highlighted the dirtiness of the house. Blech.

Back down to 149 today!

Food has been good, maybe calories are on the low side. It gets to the end of the day I can't think of anything else to eat! Workouts have been good - I've been trying some new weight exercises and I find that to be really fun actually.

B- cottage cheese, coffee
L- tuna salad
S- apple w/ peanut butter
D- cheeseburger, no bun and roasted veggies

Well, I had a cheat yesterday - wine and ice cream Life goes on. I think I felt entitled to it, I did a lot of exercise this weekend. Which I know is totally backwards thinking... I don't think it did too much damage, my calories were good.

Weight today is 150. Working on planning meals better, and eating 4-5 times a day instead of 2-3.

Will do work out with weights and a run.

It can't do any real damage. Your mindset is very strong. Our lives are full of little blips, and hiccups. Keep up the great work.

Thigh 23"

Chest 36" -

Thanks

Hi everyone

I'm doing okay today. Still at 150... I wish I could get below 149. I weighed 149-155 all through highschool and into my twenties till I started gaining weight. I don't think I've seen the 130's since middle school. It can be done. I keep saying that to myself!

Foods today- higher carb for hard workout. I've found that without carbs I can't get through the lifting.

B- Oatmeal, apple with peanut butter
S- TJ miso soup
L- Turkey and cheese roll ups, small salad
S- Cottage cheese and half a banana
D- Beef stew with lots of veggies and lentils
