Hi Jana! Just checkin' in, hoping you are doing well. Oh, and what kind of dog do you have? Do you take him/her jogging?

I keep forgetting to update this. I need to just do it, it keeps me accountable.

I have a Whippet and I do take her with me on jogs when I have the patience. She goes crazy after squirrels and cats, which there are tons of in the neighborhood.

I've been bouncing from 146-148 for the last week. I've upped my cardio intensity and subsequently have been just starving all the time.

Today- 148

Food
B- cottage cheese, apple, 1 string cheese, coffee and cream
S- almonds and 2 string cheese
L- don't know yet...
D- broiled tilapia with kale and green beans

Ooh, a Whippet! I have a Manchester Terrier. The breed was infused with Whippet blood way back when to make them faster and leggier. Normally their ears are cropped, but we asked the breeder not to do it, so she has Whippet ears. Floppy but cute. She loves small animals too, anything that moves fast. She's pretty good on jogs though.

Being hungry stinks! I hope you can find something that helps with that because it's just not sustainable in the long run.

Yesterday's weight 144 - free meal

Today's weight 145

I am so tired and a bit hung over from a birthday dinner I went too.

It's interesting how my mind works. i've been thinking that I'm so much better with my diet if I plan free meals instead of cheating... no more feelings of failure. Also when I plan something out I make much better food choices. Instead of diving into the ice cream and bottle of wine.

Weight 144

This is my lowest weight I can remember being since before high school. Too bad today is my high carb day - I will be up tomorrow, but at least right now I will revel in my low weight

I'm planning on some cardio this morning and also a full body work out.

I'm trying to not let it get to me, it's so hard

Yesterday 145.6
Today 144.4

Things are going pretty well. I am having some issues with DH- he feels like I'm acting all high and mighty when we're at the store together and I won't agree to fish sticks for dinner, or whatever. I wish he ate better but that's his choice. I hope I don't sound condescending, but I am just not going to eat like that anymore! I think we're due for a 'talk'.

Hey Jana.

You know, my wife and I have hat a few problems with the food issues as well in the past. I don’t think it is condescending to want to eat healthy and to not want to eat junk food. If you were an alcoholic or drug addict would it be condescending to not want to partake in that stuff?

Would he try to convince you to do drugs, or smoke, or something like that if you had worked hard to quit? I’m sure he would not.

It is hard to get others to follow along, but in a marriage it is important for a spouse to support the other, especially in what is a difficult situation for the other.

If my wife were struggling with something I would never want to bring something into the house that would further her struggle.

I think your decision to have a talk is a good one. Just make sure he knows that the food choices you make are not coming from a “holier-than-thou” attitude, but a sincere effort to become healthy. I’m sure he will see that.

Good luck!

I haven't updated in a while. So update:

I took a diet break last week - a week of no weighing, no measuring, nothing. It was fantastic. I didn't eat crap or stop exercising either, I just ate sensibly. I know this isn't the best plan for everyone but I think above everything else my mind and body just needed a break. I weighed monday at 146, so just a little water weight and that's it! Success.

Today's weight is 145.0

Oh and I wanted to add that I have set some goals for myself as well for the summer. As follows:

1. Lose 10ish pounds - I would love 130 but really anything in the 130's would be super.
2. Fit comfy into my size 4's - probably 5+ pounds from now that might be possible.
