Amber you are doing an amazing job yourself girlfriend!!!

I had an awesome cardio workout tonight. I did 45 minutes total. I did 15 minutes on the exercise bike for a total of 3.2 miles. I then did 30 minutes on the treadmill at a speed of 3.3 for 2 miles. I was sweating my butt off. I plan on giving the zumba dvds a go in the morning when no one is home but me and Jeriah.

My menu today:
B~ 2 egg omelet with crumbled sausage, 1/2 slice cheese

L~ 2 pieces of grilled chicken from KFC with ranch, 1/2 cup green beans

D~ hamburger with lc ketchup, 1 pickle, sm slice of tomato and 1/2 slice of cheese

*subscribing!* You're doing so awesome, and 100 pounds in 5 months and 12 days, WOW. You're an inspiration, and are much more strict with yourself than I am. I will try and be more like you!

haha I just gotta say that the zumba* (sorry, auto correct keeps making it say rumba if I don't put the *) video posted here looks so much more my speed than what my gym had us doing. lol our zumba* class is an HOUR LONG. AN HOUR! no real breaks, it kicked my butt. I tried to embed a video, we'll see if it works, this is the same routine for the Shakira song, but they sped up the song! O.o SPED IT UP! <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/KPv8ZGrb78Y" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

edit: it didn't work, but here's the link!
Oh, NOW it worked.. lol

I think it is time to try on some more clothes and see what happens. I feel different this morning for some reason. I can't wait to measure tomorrow and see if I lost any more inches in the last two weeks. The last two pair of jeans I bought at Deb are falling off of my butt. My hubby and kids keep telling me to get a belt but thats no fun. I like seeing the clothes get loser on me. I have some smaller ones I need to try on and see how far I have to go to fit them.

I don't really have any plans today so what better way to spend the morning. I am going to give Zumba a try and see how it goes and then to shower and try on the clothes.

Today is a chest, back and shoulder day at the gym so I will do that this evening.

Not sure of my menu just yet either.

Thanks for letting me join in Reva! I bet you've lost a couple of inches, you've lost so much in the last 2 weeks!!!! What size are you currently wearing that's too big? I love rewarding myself with new clothes. But you're shrinking so quickly, you're going to spend a small fortune! lol

Zumba is SO MUCH FUN, you will love it! haha Last night after posting that video I wanted to see the actual Waka Waka video and they do that funny little dance a little in there. Then I wanted to watch a bunch of other Shakira videos to see if any of her other choreography got added. Plus, I don't watch music videos anymore, but I like her music, so I was just jamming out! lol Now I want to download her music from itunes to put into my headphones for my workouts!

Sarah, you can probably find some videos on youtube and do it that way, if you can set it up where you have enough room to move and can see the screen! It's seriously fun. You might feel silly doing it at first, but you will smile, you can't help it. There were like 60+ people in the class at my gym and I showed up about 5 mins late and just kinda jumped in. They don't like show the moves before doing it, you just try to keep up!

Reva- that fat fast did it for me, I was 239.5 now I am going to follow you and be really good this weekend, they said when you resume normal low carb 20 grams or less you might gain a few back, I want to be firmly in the 230's by Monday!

I am going shopping tonight, I decided, I am going to buy some new work out clothes, see if I can pork into 16 jeans and get something cute and Springy, we deserve it! When the new skinny clothes start falling off it is the best feeling!!! My stomach is so bad that the jeans dont always fit over that and then they are huge at the waist and gap in the back that is why I hate jeans! But maybe I can find some, and a new bra for sure, good grief I swear this week my boobs went to nothing, it is so funny how I can now feel myself losing weight at the beginning I couldn't, when I got up this morning Tony touched my shoulder and when he came downstairs he was like Amber your shoulder is boney, LOL That made my day!

Total lost in the last two weeks is 11 inches. I can honestly feel a big difference. I tried on some clothes this morning. I had some 22 old navy jeans that I couldn't even get over my hips several week ago. This morning they are too big in the waist. Looks like I will get to start wearing 20's now. WOOT WOO!!! I even tried on some of the tank tops that I swore I never would wear but I can totally see myself in them by the end of summer if I can tone these God awful arms up more.

My goal was to lose another 30 pounds by the time I go to the Dr again on May 16 th. I went on Feb. 17th. Since then I am down 8 of those pounds already. This means I have 22 more pounds to go in the 2 1/2 months. I am going to push the heck out of myself to blow my Dr away again. I really really want to be down 40 pounds by then. I think if I stick to my plan 100% with no flub ups with the nuts I will be fine.

I made it a whole 15 minutes doing zumba this morning. That crap really tore my butt up quickly. I am going to love it though I think.

Amber I have no doubt you will be in the 30's by Monday morning. You are doing a fantastic job.
I need some new workout clothes but just too tight to spend all that money when hopefully I won't be in them long. I had to give up the black pants I was wearing to the gym finally because the pants legs was getting so baggy that I kept stepping on them while on the treadmill. My big fat thighs is what normally kills me in jeans.

Sara I agree with edens. Check out youtube and try some of those out. I bet you will really enjoy them.

edens I posted up above about the size I am in right now. I am going to check out some shakira songs now. Thanks!! I need some new songs on my mp3 player badly.

I almost forgot to mention that I have decided on my 100 pound loss reward. I am going to start tanning at the gym and get a pedicure this weekend. I think tanned fat looks much better than pail while skin. I want to be tanned and ready for summer when it gets here. I just worry if I am too fat for it yet or not. I only had a pedicure done one other time and my feet and legs swelled up so bad it was scary. I think I am ready to give it another try.

Wow, what a loss of inches!!! I'm wearing 20's and baggy 22's! My waist is 44"! But I carry all my weight in my middle (apple shape, anyone?) and it pokes out more below my ribs so I look pregnant in empire waisted clothes lol I hate that. That's so great you could put on those pants!!! Back in the fall I had bought a cute night gown at Target, it was a 2xl so I thought it would work. NOT A CHANCE. I put it on a few days ago and could squeeze into it if I made some adjustments to my chest to do it. LOL But once I was in it and everything was where it should be, it looked decent. Isn't that a great feeling? Zumba will definitely help tone you up and get you into those tank tops soon!

Amber, you and me both! I'm at 239.6 today (and for the past few days...). I was so happy to get into the 230s! TOM is here, so hopefully once he leaves so will a couple more pounds! The day before it started I went CRAZY on lc ice cream and treats, though. lol I figured one day wouldn't kill me, it was better than the 'real' stuff.

Nothin' on me is bony yet *sigh* I cannot WAIT to see my collar bone again. I did LC back in the day, and remember when I first saw it I was like 'OMG, I have one!' I don't remember at what weight I saw it, but I loved it. I'd always been heavy and then I got down to 154, then back up when I stopped eating right. NEVER AGAIN!

edit:
I know it's cold up in MO right now, my mom lives there, so getting natural sun probably isn't an option right now, but I think its a little safer. Be careful with the tanning beds. I did them before I got married just to have some color, and I got little red spots like blood freckles on areas that were not normally exposed, like my tummy and chest. I tanned nude, though. lol I couldn't have tan lines in my gown! :P The honeymoon was in Mexico, too! I got tan lines then.

I love pedicures. I wonder what it was that made you swell up? Was it during, or after? Was the water super hot or the chair reclined at a funky position?

Glad you're rewarding yourself!

You're ready for 20's?! I'm envious. I'm very comfortable in my 22's. They're not snug at all and may even feel slightly loose, but I definitely don't feel close to ready for 20's yet. *sigh* How tall are you, Reva?

I am a shorty. I am only 5 ft 3. I think once I put the 20's on they will be snug but will be better than my 22's that fall off of my butt. I have never owned a belt so I might want to invest in one.

I always had poor circulation when I was well over 300. They said this had a lot to do with it.

I do tan very easier in the summer time so I don't plan on getting super dark in the beds.

Its so weird how people can weigh the same amounts but height and bone structure makes a huge different, thank God I am tall and can stretch this all out, and I have a large frame.

Edens- I know how you feel hun, 24 years I have been fat, I never remember being normal except maybe in junior high one summer I lost like 40 pounds and started 7th grade and everyone noticed then it was up and up and up, that is why I am so excited to see it going down!

Laura you are such a sweetie!! You are doing an awesome job yourself. You are an inspiration to me!!!

I did it!!!!!!!!!!!! I got an unlimited tanning package at the gym this evening and tanned for the first time. I put a little dolphin sticker on so I can start seeing the difference after I have gone a bit.

I did a chest/back/shoulder workout. I upped my workout though to five sets of 15, 12, 10 8 and 6 reps. I just felt like I needed to start doing more.

Menu:
B~ 2 egg omelet with crumbled bacon, shred. cheese
L~ low carb chocolate slim fast shake
D~ pork stew meat cooked in butter and dipped in lc ketchup

Reva that is so wonderful, tanning just makes you look more fit. My sister has a tanning bed I could use but it's easier just to go to one close to my work. The place I used to go was run by a movie rental place..when they all closed so did it so I need to look in the phone book and find another place to go now.

Yeah Reva- I posted I use Manifest from MR International, I go to a tanning salon, and buy the stuff there it is expensive! I like the MR stuff they had one called Rehab, every time I find one I love they discontinue it!

laura- you are dark, I am such a white girl that is why I gotta tan slowly then I get darker, I have so many freckles from the sun I hate that! I spend all winter bleaching my face and chest dark spots then I tan, LOL I cant give up the tanning! Dang woman, look how skinny your face is towards that picture? WOW!

Amber I got 10 shades darker than that before the summer was over. Amber I was a hog last summer, I'm surprised that float held my fat arse up. Amber I will post the link on FB to the site I buy mine from or just Google the brand, you can get it much cheaper, those products are expensive if you buy them from the salons.

Amber could this be it?

Of Whooshes and Squishy Fat

A few weeks back I answered a question about Not Losing Fat at a 20% Deficit, What Should I Do? and among other things, one comment I made had to do with a water retention that often occurs during fat loss which can mask fat loss and make it appear as if the diet is not working. I also mentioned specifically that I had written (with a straight-face no less) about whooshes in The Stubborn Fat Solution, along with a related phenomenon which I call squishy fat.
In any case, to expand on that issue, I’m going to excerpt the chapter section from The Stubborn Fat Solution dealing with both phenomena. With that introduction, I give you (again, with a straight face)…

Of Whooshes and Squishy Fat
Before you freak out and think you’ve entered some weird Internet forum where people talk about stalls and whooshes, please bear with me; there’s actually some physiological rationale to what I’m going to discuss.
Many people have noted that fat loss is often discontinuous, that is it often happens in stops and starts. So you’ll be dieting and dieting and doing everything correctly with nothing to show for it. Then, boom, almost overnight, you drop 4 pounds and look leaner.
What’s going on? Back during my college days, one of my professors threw out the idea that after fat cells had been emptied of stored triglyceride, they would temporarily refill with water (glycerol attracts water, which might be part of the mechanism). So there would be no immediate change in size, body weight or appearance. Then, after some time frame, the water would get dropped, the fat cells would shrink. A weird way of looking at it might be that the fat loss suddenly becomes ‘apparent’. That is, the fat was emptied and burned off days or weeks ago but until the water is dropped, nothing appears to have happened.
For nearly 20 years I looked for research to support this, I was never sure if it was based on something from the 50’s or he just pulled it out of thin air as an explanation. Recently, one paper did suggest that visceral fat can fill up with water after massive weight loss but that’s about it.
Somewhat circumstantially, people using Bioimpedance body fat scales (which use hydration to estimate body fat levels) have noted that body fat appears to go up right before a big drop. This implicates water balance as the issue here.
As well, women, who have more problems with water retention, seem to have bigger issues with stalls and whooshes than men. Further, some individuals who have done dry carb-loads (high carbohydrate refeeds without drinking a lot of water) have seen them occur; presumably the body pulls water into the muscles and out of other tissues (fat cells). In lean individuals, appearance is often drastically improved with this approach, it doesn’t do much for those carrying a lot of fat.
I’d note that dry carb-loads suck because you’re so damn thirsty. Interestingly, even normal refeeds often work in this regards, perhaps the hormonal effect ‘tells’ the body to chill out and release some water. So not only do refeeds seem to improve stubborn fat mobilization the next day (as discussed above), they may help the body drop some water so that you can see what is happening.
Finally, many have reported whooshes following an evening which included alcohol. A mild diuretic, this would also tend to implicate water balance issues in the whoosh phenomenon.
I’d also note that this isn’t universal, lean dieters often see visual improvements on a day to day basis; a lot seems to depend on whether or not they tend to retain water in general. Folks who do have problems with water retention tend to have stalls and whooshes, those who don’t show nice consistent visual changes.
On a related topic, I wanted to discuss something else that often happens when people are getting very lean and dealing with stubborn body fat: the fat gets squishy, feeling almost like there are small marbles under the skin. Yes, very scientific, I know. That’s the best I can do.
As folks get very lean, down to the last pounds of fat, the skin and fat cells that are left will often change appearance and texture. It will look dimply (as the fat cells which are supporting the skin shrink and the skin isn’t supported) and feel squishy to the touch. This is bad in that it looks really weird, but it’s good because it means that the fat is going away. I have nothing truly profound to say about this topic, just realizes that it happens and usually indicates good things are happening.
