Ok, here it is, the first picture of the twins! As you can see, baby 1 is a little smaller, so we are hoping s/he catches up! Of course, when my Dr. was moving the wand around, sometimes it would look bigger, and sometimes smaller, so who knows? I have another u/s on Thursday to make sure they are both still growing.

So I have another u/s tomorrow. I dreamt about it a few nights ago, that I saw both babies and they had both grown and were doing great. That SHOULD reassure me, since I've this irrational fear all week that suddenly my babies will stop growing! I know, Dumb. Anyway, there is a possibility that we will see the heartbeat tomorrow, but it might still be a bit too early, since I will be exactly 6 weeks tomorrow. But I'm still crossing my fingers for it! I'll post an update tomorrow when I get back!

Oh! I guess I never mentioned my due date! Its January 29th, but I will be earlier than that. I am expecting them anytime starting the last week of December.
So far I have just been totally exhausted. I come home from work every day and take a nap! I never nap. Although, this morning I woke up a little nauseous, and at work, right before my break, I was getting queasy again, and then I got light headed and started shaking. I ate a light snack and sat down for 15-20 minutes and felt better. I started feeling nauseous again after I got home, laid down for about an hour and felt better when I got up.

Thanks, Lynn, Sue, Jaimie & Beth!
Well, my Drs visit was wonderful. I saw two matching yolk sacs and two tiny, matching heartbeats! ![]() ![]() My Dr said that both twins were definitely viable and that everything looks great. I go again in 3 weeks. I have a picture, but it looks just like the other one, just bigger blobs. For some reason, he couldnt get both babys yolk sacs on the screen at the same time to get a picture, so you will just have to take my word for it that they were there I will scan it later and post it. |

Krysta:
You said you couldn't see both sacs at the same time. Are they really the same size, or is one already more developed than the other? The pictures make it look like you've got a big twin and a little twin. I've always wondered if it's possible to conceive two children on different days, especially when your ovulation patterns are irregular in some way. |

Krysta, congratulations on your pregnancy! Your persistence paid off. Is your DH just adorably excited?
Nik, I'm pretty sure you can conceive at different times within 24-72 hours or so. So they could be slightly apart in age. |

Nik, no they are the same size. I think the one that looks smaller is attached to the opposite wall of my uterus, because when the Dr actually focuses the wand on the "smaller" one seperately, it looks the same as the "bigger" one. Its just that when he is able to get them both on the screen together, the one always looks smaller. But they are at the same stage of development. You cant see the yolk sacs in this picture, but they are the same size and everything. When you see them seperately, they literally look identical.

That was exactly what I thought, but I wanted to ask. I just have this fantasy, as I'm sure many people who have struggled TTC have, of releasing eggs rapid fire and getting pregnant two or three times within a week. I'm a weirdo, but Palm Tree Gal said it could happen! ![]() |

Well, I think I will just copy what I wrote in the "Expecting Mommies" thread first, cause it pretty much explains it all:
I have been awful sick this week. Can hardly stomach anything. Ive been living off of Cream of Wheat, Cheerios, peanut butter crackers and fruit, pretty much. Its all I can handle. In fact, I was down 5 lbs from my previous appt at my Drs on Thursday I weighed myself today on my own scale and I was down 2 more lbs from the Dr scale I actually was able to add in some cottage cheese yesterday. Im trying to get in more protein if I can. But its hard. I can also have a yogurt smoothie every now and then. I'm trying one right now with a pb sandwhich. So far, so good. Everything else pretty much makes me want to vomit. I think Im going to see if I can eat a plain chicken salad today. I can handle veggies, and as long as the chicken isnt fried or spiced, I should be ok. I cant eat anything heavy fat, heavy spice/flavor or heavy carb. Such a pain! (of course, the no heavy carb part isnt a pain! LOL)I had some red spotting on Wednesday night, so I went in to the Dr on Thursday for a u/s. The babies were just fine. In fact, they were measuring 3 days ahead (7w3d)! Dr said as long as there was no cramping or an actual flow like a period, it is normal. Still freaks me out, though. I had a little more thursday night when I woke up at 3am to pee, but it was already more or a rust red/brownish color, so I wasn't too worried. Today, I have nothing whatsoever, which is a relief. But I will be happy when it just stops altogether! I am in my 8th week...less than 5 to go to be out of my first trimester! I will be happy when I hit that milestone. Other than that, my next DA is on the 25th, so about a week and a half. Here is the pic of the twins from Thursday appt. You can actually see them in their little sacs now. I actually think this pic looks like an alien face lol: ![]() Last edited by KrystaLyn; 06-14-2008 at 09:56 AM.. |

They are just beautiful Krysta!
So sorry you are having a difficult time. Hang in there. It is to be expected in the first few months. And with you having two babies no wonder you are zapped. Just rest as much as possible....eat whatever you can. It won't be like this forever I promise. Don't worry so much with the weight. I have a friend that every time she gets pregnant she ends up after having the baby weighing like 10-20 lighter than when she got pregnant. Your doctor will let you know when he is getting worried about your weight. Take care of yourself. God has these babies in His hands. You are just the instrument to bring them forth in this world. Who knows what God has planned for these two! It is so exciting! Please keep in touch as often as you can!

Of course I scrolled down to the picture before I read your post. My first thought was, "HA! It's an alien head!" Then, I read what you wrote... It's so cool that you have a unique picture like this for an early ultrasound. The sacs and the babes are so small on the screen, there's not usually much excitement in one of these. |

Oh, I just saw you're in Fayetteville, Ft. Bragg, right? My hometown's about 70 miles south of there right on the other side of South of the Border. One of my dear college friend's husband was stationed there while they were pregnant.
