Thanks Monet and Jaimie! You are both so encouraging to me!

I have to say though, I am feeling pretty discouraged today. I weighed myself this morning, and I'm up to 345 again!? I've been testing my ketosis every day and I've consistently been in small or moderate for the last two weeks (and honestly, almost every day for the past two months), but the scale is STILL not showing weight loss. I really don't understand how that can be.

Like I've said before, I FEEL better on this woe... and I really don't miss the carbs anymore... but I am just so disappointed to not be seeing weight loss as a result of all my efforts. Also, while this site is so great for accountability and getting tips, recipes, kind words, etc... I have to admit that it is SO frustrating to see how some people who are around my weight and cheating regularly or not sticking to induction are losing weight like crazy... and here I am, stuck. I'm happy for them, don't get me wrong, it just adds to my own frustration!

Anyhoo, thanks for letting me vent! I'm still going to be plugging along...

Today's Menu:
B- none (slept in)
L- beef frank, broccoli/cauliflower (8)
S- sf jello w/cream (2)
D- some kind of meat and veggies ???
TOTAL=10 carbs+dinner/8 glasses of water

Hey mask, it just me. I just wanted to say that i feel your frustration. I too have been soo good on this woe, i did have a cheat on easter but before that it was in january. I just can't seem to lose lately. Nothing!

I just want this to be me, not the cheating part but the losing like crazy!

Enough whining for now anyways. Hang in there and stay strong girl! It's gotta start falling off soon right! Take some measurements and see if it's dissapearing w/inches instead of on the scale. I will be measuring when the Action challenge is done. I hope to see a change there!

Thanks Snick and Nic! I DO seem to notice clothes fitting better and such, which is great, but still...

So, update... for at least the next three days (possibly 5) I am going to do the Atkins Fat Fast. This is basically for those who are metobolically resistant. It consists of 5 small meals of 200 calories each (totalling 1,000 calories/day), 90% of which comes from fat.

I FINALLY read the chapter in DANDR about metobolic resistance... and eh hem... I'm on 3 of the five meds that they say can really stall weight loss! Ugh! I thought back about it, and I started taking one of them the SAME time I stopped losing (three weeks into this woe)! DUH! So... I'm going off of those meds (they're diuretics for high blood pressure, but Atkins already helps lower blood pressure and I've started excercising very regularly, which also lowers blood pressure, so I should be just fine!). That, on top of the Fat Fast... we'll see how I do! The other two meds I can't just go off of (birth control and anti-dep/anx meds)... so I hope this works! But, it's nice to know that there's a REASON I haven't been losing!

So far today I've just had 2 ounces of cream cheese (it's just about noon here, but I also slept in). I'm about to go cook up a bunch of bacon for today and tomorrow. So far I feel pretty good... not too hungry, but I'm just getting started really. Anyway, my menu today isn't very adventurous, but I might try some different things tomorrow...

Today's Menu:
1- 2 ounces cream cheese
2- 5 bacon slices
3- 2 ounces cream cheese
4- 5 bacon slices
5- heavy cream in diet root beer
(LOTS OF WATER!!!)

Good luck on losing everyone!

Hi Heather,

I hear you about the slowed weight loss! Ever since I went on Celexa I have had one heck of a time getting this weight off. BUT, I went off Celexa for a few weeks to see how I would handle it...NOT PRETTY! I will just have to figure out a way to lose the weight and stay on the medicine.

Good luck with the fat fast...keep us posted!

Hugs

Thanks Jaimie! I'm going to have to see how this goes and whether I can really stay off of the diuretics or not... last night I was UP to 348.5 (which had to be water weight because I only ate 1,000 calories yesterday), so that worried me a bit, not just for weight reasons, but because of blood pressure. Anyway, I'm giving it at least one more day without meds and see how it goes.

Anyhoo... other than that, the Fat Fast seems to be going pretty well. I was at a friend's house last night for a game night and stayed on it, depite tons of pizza and beer and feeling pretty hungry later in the evening... and it paid off this morning!

Today's Weight: 344.0 (!)
Today's Menu:
1- cream cheese
2- bacon
3- cream cheese
4- bacon
5- diet root beer with cream
(LOTS of water again!)

Today's Menu:
Well, I didn't plan ahead very well because today is my niece's birthday party and it's at a big carnival/parade all day. So... I think I'll be on regular lc today and not Fat Fast... BUT, I will be back on the FF tomorrow through Tuesday, completing 5 days alltogether. I'll post again tomorrow to update!

Have a good weekend!-nic

Thanks Nic!

Well, I went a bit carby the last two days, but I am back on Fat Fast today through Wednesday. I'm part of a challenge that goes through June 2nd and I am DETERMINED to be down a total of 40 lbs by then to 319! I CAN DO IT! I'm back to working out this week (starting tomorrow) and then I'm planning to throw in a few Fat Fast days to jump start my weight loss here and there during the challenge.

Oh, and I'm still off of my diuretics and seem to be doing just fine...

Today's Weight; 344.0
Today's Menu:
1- cream cheese
2- bacon
3- diet soda w/cream
4- cream cheese
5- bacon
(LOTS of water)

Heather, WOW
You are doing a great job my friend! You know, the best thing about your fantastic attitude right now is...you are able to be flexible and kind to yourself. You knew Fat Fast would be out for the birthday day...but you stayed LC. You are really an example of how we ALL should look at this journey as a Way of Life, and not a diet program.

Thanks for sharing your journey my dear!

Thanks Jaimie and Monet! I'm so glad to all of you who continue to check in on me and encourage me here!

Yesterday I DID make it the gym and walked 3 miles! It was great to get back there again after staying away all during Spring Break.

Today is my first full day back completely low carb... and I am facing some temptations again, but I'm NOT giving in!

Today's Menu:
B- turkey on oopsies (6)
L- pepperoni slices, diet soda (2)
S- meat of some kind and veggies (8)
TOTAL=16 carbs/8 glasses of water
(maybe walking to park later = 1 mile)

B- turkey on oopsies (6)
L- pepperoni slices, diet pop (2)
S- 2oz.cream cheese (2)
D- fajita salad (6)
TOTAL=16 carbs/8 glasses of water
(walking about 3 miles at the gym later)

MY PLAN: I am on Induction today and plan to be through next Wednesday. At that point, I am going to Florioda through the following Sunday. Food is provided as part of the conference we're going to, but I plan to make lc choices whenever possible and bring along lc snacks. AFTER I return, I will stick to three days of the Fat Fast before returning to extended Induction. At that point, when I stall, I will use three day chunks of the Fat Fast to give my body a boost.

I need to read more about the Fat Fast. Do you find that helpful?

Fancy~ I had a hard time sticking to the Fat Fast, but not because of the FF, just because it was a chaotic time. I think I definitely saw results though... and I was surprised at how I was not very hungry during it!

Today's Menu:
B- turkey on oopsies (6)
L- pepperoni slices, diet pop (2)
S- coffee w/cream (4)
D- pulled pork and veggies (6)
TOTAL=18 carbs/8 glasses of water
(walking 1 mile to park later)

Hello everyone. Sorry I have been MIA... I am WAY off plan... but planning to make my comeback SOON! Wish me some extra motivation to get my butt in gear!

BTW, the conference in Florida was AMAZING!!! We have so many great ideas and inspiration for the church service we're helping to lead. Plus, we went with a wonderful group of people and LOVED the sun!

It seems like everything else in life is going well... just not my low carbing...

Glad you enjoyed Florida and glad you're back! Hang in there Heather. It does get easier after a few weeks. I lost 9 lbs in my first 2 weeks this woe, and zero lbs week 3 and week 4. Now I average 4 or 5 lbs a week. Actually I started losing quicker when I added in extra veggies. Stay encouraged, and post often.... it always helps me to read these boards.
