Doing it for me
I am starting this journal to remind myself that I am taking this weight loss journey just for me. Yesterday I started on a low carb diet again. I have been struggling for the past four months on south beach and atkins. I have not lost any weight but I also turned the big 40 this year and think has something to do with it. So my new plan consists of three low carb shakes, two yogurt (100 calories each), and one low carb meal. I have lost two pounds which is great because I have seen a loss at least. Not sure how long I will follow this routine but I am drinking more fluids and feel good right now. I would like to go from 182 to 125. I have a long way to go but I know I can do it. I was considering Medifast for a while but I figured I would give this a try first. Today was good day for me besides feel a little tired but I have my hands full right now too. I am taking care of my nineteen year old daughter who is pregnant, and on bedrest. Plus I have a five year old who is a full time job she has speech delays and special needs, and I have a eleven, and an eighteen year old all girls.

Well three days off the carbs and sweets feeling better. I really notice that when I do not eat the carbs and sweets I feel better. I have more energy and I am not as tired as I was. I have to start back to exercising this week. I have been putting it off I injured my back and have been in no rush to get back to exercising I am still walking but staying off ellipitcal machine.I am making a goal to stay away from the carbs and sweets. They are nothing but trouble for me. |

Well I went for a recheck on my back today and the Dr. said I should be doing more carbs but good carbs but no way I am getting back on carbs. I am going to stay on this WOE from now on I have to do it I am feeling too good to reintroduce carbs now.
Why do Drs frown upon low carb eating??? |

Last nite I did 976 steps on my elliptical machine for 25 minutes. The exercise has helped to decrease the pain I was having in my back and hips
. I feel really good. I am really trying not to weigh everyday but it is so tempting to jump on that scale in the morning. I have stayed the same for two days now but that is OK with me I did not gain at least.![]() |

Ok last few days have been hectic of course. My daughter dilated to one but no baby yet. She has been in pain and uncomfortable I really feel bad for her. She broke up with her beau he took the day off work the other day because he thought she was gonna have it. But instead of spending it with her he spent with his friend. I feel real bad for her and part me of wants to fix it for her but I know I cannot. But during this going on I have managed to stay on plan
!!! Usually I would pig out by now but not doing it!! Have not weighed but we will see what the scale says Mon. |

Hang in there! It's is so hard to stay on plan during stressful, life changing times like this!
That is so awful, about your DD's ex. She is lucky to have such a supportive Mom by her side! Are you going to be in the delivery room? |

Well today was better for me still busy but I was able to stay on track. I made a big casserole for tommorow. That will be good to have on hand all low carb too the kids will not eat it but I enjoyed it. Well no baby yet!! I think I am finally get over the allergy attack I had on Sat. Had to use my inhaler for my asthma that always seems to add a lb or two. Long weekend here still trying to catch up but it will be better tommorow when I have a chance to sit down and catch up on journaling.

Well my daughter had a baby and she is doing great!!!
Which I am really glad!! She had been at the hospital so much she probably thought she lived there. They induced her Sat. night and that seemed to make a big difference her contractions became more regular and she was able to finally able to have that baby!! She is living with the boyfriend and his family in town. Which I choose to say nothing about. The baby was born at 8:23PM last nite she weighed 5lbs 6 ozs 19 inches, and her name is Emma Leigh. I tried to stick to plan but went off during all this stresss..... Tommorow I will be full force back on track....Last edited by momlatte : 12-16-2007 at 09:02 PM. Reason: Details left out |

Congrats Grandma! How wonderful! Sorry you don't have them to yourself for a while! I am sure you will be seeing them lots. Emma Leigh! What a beautiful name. I take it the both Mom and baby are doing well since they are no longer in the hospital. No stress! You are going to do great this week. What a joyful Christmas, when there is a new life to share it with you! God Bless you all, and prayers that your daughter will find true happiness with whatever she decides to do! ![]() |

The hubby have messed up the last two days but we are getting back on track tommorow going to make low carb treats for us for our sweet tooth. Everyone seemed to bring us cookies, and goodies these few past days. We both ate more than we should have. Things were a little stressful too with the holidays being here and all. But no more excuses we are back on track tommorow.

Well things have been crazy here lately. Lots of stress have been avoiding posting unintentionally.
Down to 179 today started to eat real food instead of shakes also. Have been having stomach problems since I did the shakes. Going for new a goal of being accountable for my actions. Eating low carb and going to work on seriously staying on plan. |

Well going back on track tommorow we have been bombarded with a winter storm here that knock me off track. Have to go get more food in case the power goes out again. We have over 6 inches of snow and the power was out so I am guilty of grabbing whatever has been around. Power has been off and on for a day or two. Crazy!!!! Going to full low carb tommorrow. Going shop in morning when roads are not icy. Have enough food to last me through. Just need more low carb snack foods.
