TeeHee! I totally agree! I love working on my marriage, I love how he is a gift from God to me and that God knew exactly who I needed!
It's awesome!
I love talking about marriages in a positive way too. I don't get into talking about my husband in a disrepectful tone and putting him down. Because we are one and if I talk bad about him, I'm talking bad about myself.

Have a wonderful day!!

Good morning all!

I'm at work right now, looking forward to the day. We had a good deluge of rain last night! Woke to some pretty ferocious thunder. It literally shook my house!!!
Before I woke up to the sound, I was dreaming that someone huge was walking on my roof and as I heard the thunder in my sleep. Yeah, I know silly dream huh!!
I realized after a moment that it was actually raining hard and big drops! The lightening was amazing too. I just could not believe how loud and resounding that thunder was!

So right now,it's as if nothing happenend, except you can see the wetness on the ground. With all the rain we've been blessed with, weeds are sprouting like crazy! DH and I can't even keep up with it.

Well, I am going to back to my elliptical. I remember when I first got that thing, I was using it almost everyday. That totally got me losing again and it felt so good after exercising. I am going to use it and hopefully it will get my weight down.

I'm going to lose, I will not think otherwise!!! We are all going to lose! Those who are struggling like I am, there is hope! We can do this together and get our extra weight off. I only have 50lbs to go, that's not much!

I am pressing towards my goal!!!!

That was quite a storm we had! We are in the same situation with the weeds, too! I sprayed last week, and now, they're baaaaack!

What a great idea about the elliptical! I need to get back to a treadmill routine too. We are going to do this! After how far you have come, the rest will be easy! Let's do it!

Hi Friends!

We are expecting a HUGE snow storm tomorrow, so no weeds around here!!

WE CAN DO IT! I am so newly charged up about exercise...come on girls, let's keep each other accountable.

I know with DH away on a business trip...I will be getting plenty of exercise tomorrow shoveling out! I wish I were better with the pic sharing thing...I think you would get a kick out of how much work it is to clear out the driveway and front walk.

Hugs!

Good morning Diana.

What a storm you had. We don't get thunder storms around here very often (think once every few years) and I really enjoy them.

Getting back to the elliptical sounds great. I sometimes wish I had an exercise machine, but I think it would sit and make me feel guilty.

We're all gonna do this; it just takes time.

Oh Sue, when we heard that big loud thunder sound, well later that day we found out that lightening hit a house right down the street from us. A tree was hit and part of the branch was shot out and and impaled the side of the house! They showed pictures of it. The homeownwers house had broken windows, and some things inside their house were broken and damaged. But they were okay!

We just knew that something was hit, we just didn't know it was down the street!

Oh you are so blessed that you don't storms like that where you live. We do every so often, especially during the summer, whoa look out!

Well, I hope you have good evening. I hope your stomach is doing better.

Love Ya,
Diana

Hi Deb,
LOL, I'm tired of wearing warm clothes already. But I'm not in a hurry for summer either. I still have some weight to lose before then!

Have a great weekend, Diana.

That's really something about your neighbor's house. So glad they were all safe.

Do you know exactly what Mary, the new gal in our challenge, is doing? I'll have to check it out. I need to get this loss jump started.

Stillman's is what she is doing. Doesn't sound too bad, but she did lose about 5 lbs in a week or so.

Here I'll paste here info:

My Stillman’s Notes:

Beverages: AT LEAST 80 ounces of water; diet drinks okay; black or green tea w/artificial sweetner okay (I am also using a little bit of cream in my coffee Stillman doesn't allow)
Other: You need a multivitamin because this diet is nutritionally deficient; I also take a calcium/magnesium supplment that helps with sleep and bathroom issues; I also do Metamucil 3x daily - the Metamucil is psyllium - you will need something to keep from getting stopped up because there is NO fiber in this diet. If you do psyllium you absolutely HAVE to drink a lot of water through the day.

Stillman's recommends tuna in water but I used tuna in oil. Didn't seem to matter since I wasn't using mayo. You CAN use fat free mayo, but bleech... you might even be able to get away with a little bit of regular mayo. I didn't use any. I also used regular full fat cottage cheese at first because that is what I had in the fridge. I switched to 1% but next time I buy it, I'm getting the 2% instead.

My Stillman’s Menus

Day 1 (had a lot of diet drinks this day for some reason)

B: One cup regular coffee w/cream & Sugar Twin; 2 eggs scrambled with non stick spray
S: ½ c. 4% cottage cheese; Diet Rite
L: Tuna in oil; boiled egg; Diet Rite
S: Five slices deli turkey breast; Diet Rite
D: Cup of beef broth; leftover steak; ½ cup 4% cottage cheese; Diet Rite
S: ½ of leftover chicken breast; SF jello

Day 2

B: Two cups regular coffee w/heavy cream & Sugar Twin; 2 eggs scrambled with non-stick spray

D: Cup of chicken broth; shrimp sautéed in cooking spray with Cajun seasoning; ½ cup 1% cottage cheese; Diet Rite
S: SF jello

Day 3

B: Two cups regular coffee w/heavy cream and Sugar Twin; one hard boiled egg w/Cajun seasoning
S: Diet Rite
L: Three slices of packaged ham; one boiled egg w/Cajun seasoning; Diet Rite
D: Cup of chicken broth; ½ cup 1% cottage cheese; roasted chicken breast, skinless

Diana~I did Stillmans several years ago. You can see my post in the A72 challenge about what happened to me. But, I think it would be a good way to cycle, like a week of Atkins and 2-3 days of Stillmans. It's an austere plan. But, worth a try, huh? A good way to kick-start a loss? We'll see. I don't want to do it while my mom is here. She thinks I'm nuts doing Atkins.

Oh you did! Yeah, that's right, I did read your reply back to Mary.
Okay, well when you have time after your mother leaves, maybe we can talk about trying to cycle this with A72?

I would like to see how this works as well and see if we can lose at least 5 lb or so, but not to were we'll mess up or metab or anything else.

You just enjoy yourself this weekend, no guilt and just cater to you, your mom and your family! Have fun!!!!

I see that you started it yesterday and am anxious to hear your results. I'm thinking more about cycling this with Atkins. I'm not sure I can get as strict as the first few weeks of Atkins 72. I have a bad emotional reaction when I think about it, because my stomach troubles began then. But, regular Atkins induction would work for me also.

Hi Sue,

Thanks for always visiting my journal. I always forget about it until some posts!

So far so good on the Stillmans QWL diet. I have been eating until I'm full and then I stop. If I get hungry in between meals, then I'll snack on any of the allowable foods. Pretty easy to do. They really stress drinking water, at least 8 10oz glasses.

Just for readers sake, I'll post yesterday's and today's menu. It's pretty much the same.

Yesterday's
B- 3 hd eggs, 3 slices of lean deli turkey, coffee no cream, mocha flavored splenda
S- 1 hd egg
L- 4 slices of deli turkey, and something else, 2 hb eggs, 2oz cottage cheese (2%)
S- 2oz of 2% cottage cheese
D- 3 broiled chicken thighs, they were small
S- 2 small chicken thighs
Water, 5 16.9 oz water = 84.5 oz 2 diet rite sodas

Today's Menu
B- 2 boiled eggs, 3 slices of deli turkey, coffee no cream 2 Splenda flavored mocha packets.
L- Cup of organic mushroom broth, 3 slices of deli turkey, 2 oz of cottage cheese,
D- broiled chicken thighs, cottage cheese and maybe some broth
Water 84.5 oz, diet rite soda

I want to say that I buy the Boars Head deli meat. I have heard it's the best one to get. I buy low sodium, heart healthy kind. It's so good!

So yesterday I weighed in at between 209 and 210. This morning I weighed in at 206. I know alot of it could be water, but I'll see what my scale say's tomorrow.

I only plan on doing this for about 3 days, 4 at the most. Then I'll start A72 and slowly add salads in my menu. Oh and this morning, thank God, I didn't have a problem having a bm.

I'll keep posting my results with to see how this goes!

There are going to be people that say this is a very bad diet, but if it is working for you in a cycling pattern, don't worry about it. I think staying on it long term could be harmful, but a few days at a time won't hurt. And, it may help you get the weight off.

That's what I've been reading lately. Mary and Janie have been giving me some good advice on this. Janie is so cute, she's always afraid of stepping on toes!
But I do take heed on what everyone has been saying.

I am going out to lunch with my mom and sister, so I'm thinking that I'll add a salad with whatever protein I'll be eating. I just may cycle Atkins back in today, instead of waiting until Thursday.

I love it when others share information or show concern!!
