Diana dear, I am a very much a home body... Henry loves people but honestly sometimes I could do without them... I love my home and my privacy... Now when I was young I loved to be around people but the older I get the more seclusion I want...I think owning a grocery store kind of ruined me on people... I learned one thing, that you can't trust everyone you come in contact with... Funny, I use to wonder why older people didn't like big crowds and now I am there myself...

I took a Wilton cake decorating class about 25 years ago.

It was fun. I was already decorating cakes, but wanted to learn from a pro. I use half shortening and half butter for my frosting. It tastes so much better. I don't do flowers much, so I don't have to worry about the frosting being really stiff.

Oh how cool Sue! I didn't know that! But from the one cake you posted, that's obivous now.
Yeah that all shortening icing doesn't sound too applealing to me either, but with the temps we have here, kind of warmish, the instructor said it's best to use all shortening. But the butter we can do when it's cooler, the latter holds up better.

I'm excited to start!!

Hi Sweetie, my neighbor when we live in Baton Rouge brought us over a couple pieces of cake with the shortening icing... I did not like it... It tasted like lard...

Ewwwh! That's what I'm afraid of. But I'm wondering if all the cakes made by the bakers use that combination. That's how they make the center of the Oreo cooking. . .with shortening.

Hey Diana just popped in here to say you've been MIA on the other thread! It is so cool that you are taking a class! You do such awesome cakes you could prob teach that instructor a few things! I can not believe you are shy.

Hi Chris!!

I posted on Any Induction of what happened to me.

I would post according to how it ends up on my subsription and AI is always on the bottom of the list on my page. So when I get to AI, something would always happend and I would have to leave or remember something I have to do, or whatever.
Then I would start posting and never get to send it. And by that time I'm gone from the office.

Anyway, I finally did post a bit ago.

Yes, I'm taking cake decorating classes. Next week, I'll be making that cake on the above picture.
I hope I do well to Chris. I'm kind of nervous, but it's all about learning, so I can't think about anything, plus it's all women, so it's not bad!

Hi Ladies,
I'm doing work and trying to move. Yeah, I like moving around and doing things to keep me active.

Yesterday I left work early and when I got home, I went to the back yard and raked the leaves and picked up the dog poop, hose the yard down and then got dinner ready. Thank goodness, DH bbq'd!!

That's it.

Starting Stillmans today and hopefully I'll get down some lbs!!

Back in the 70's I did a diet called the nine egg diet... It was different foods that you had to eat every day and it caused a chemical reaction to help you to burn fat. The first day you had to eat 9 eggs anyway you wanted them. We did good on this diet until we got to the day we had to eat canned spinach and we couldn't hack it anymore and quit the diet. This is similar to Mayo Clinic Diet. Which I found out that Mayo Clinic had nothing to do with it, and it set up a chemical reaction, too. For 3 days you had to eat what was on the diet and then rest of the week you ate normal. I really enjoyed this diet because I kept on losing on it every week. Never less than a pound... I guess I should have stuck with it... but I just can't do those fad diets anymore...

Oh yeah, the 3 Day Diet! I used to do that too when I was in my 20's and I lost alot of weight on that too. In fact my parents did that before they tried lc and they lost quite a bit on that too.

I haven't tried it since, but I know some can lose eating that way. The best part was the vanilla ice cream!! Sometimes I would serve me extra, haha!!
