Good, I'm glad you got some help from it. Cholesterol is so confusing because what tradition medical professionals say is different from other research DH and I have done.
Is there high cholesterol that runs in your family? Could be another factor. ![]() It could also be that going off plan on weekends is making your cholesterol soar. I'm a little worried about this myself lately. Low carb is the best, but when we're eating off plan things, it just doesn't work and can even be harmful because of the combination of carbs and fat. I know you'll get this figured out. I just think that the docs prescribe too many meds without figuring out the underlying issue causing the problem. And, they may get a kick-back from prescribing them - follow the money.

I remember reading that too, in his book, how the diet lowers cholesterol...that is very strange. So eating red meat gives you high cholesterol?

Good Morning Precious Friends!!
Thanks for the vote of confidence you've given me regarding my blood work situation! I have decided not to take the medication, Crestor, or whatever it's called. After reading some threads here and realizing that it could harm me more than help, I don't think I want to try that. So I'm going to do what I believe is best for me. I'm going up my exercise routine. I'm going to continue to use my elliptical and try to do a mile everyday. I'm going to eat a little leaner, use egg beaters, eat more nuts without salt, get in some strawberries and blueberries, but def will be lc. Instead of eating red meats, I'll eat more chicken, fish, tuna, turkey bacon, and lean deli meats. I'll use olive oil for my cooking, but I may not use butter for now. I'm going to try and do lc as much as possible, but I'll have to watch the fats even though they are good fats. I really believe this is hereditary, because my dad is taking meds for this and also for diabetes. Thank God, my blood sugar is good, my thyroid is good, my hormones are normal, it's just this that is high. I have so much food that I made for the week, that I cannot see wasting it, and it's way too much for DH to eat all by himself, so I'm going to help eat it until it's gone. Here's my menu B- egg bake, (zucchini, yellow squash, green onions, sausage) S- A Shake L-tuna w/ a little mayo w/a salad D- hamburger patty w/ a salad S- walnuts and almonds Water Exercise: 1 mile/elliptical Oh as I was exercising, I was watching Beach Blanket Bingo!! How funny that movie was. It made my exercise go by fast!! I'll be coming to visit everyone when I get to work!! Love Ya's!! ![]()

Oh, I wanted to mention this.
Yesterday, I felt I ate alot of lc food. Yesterday when I weighed in, I was at 207, this morning I am back down to 205. Same weight I've lost before. But I had 2 shakes for a snack, had a few walnuts and almonds, had some chocolate co bark and salads with evoo and vinegar. I felt that I ate alot, but at a minimal. I tried not to over indulge anything. This morning I feel lighter! I hope this continues to work for me and that I can keep losing at a steady pace. Just sharing my thoughts!! Teehee!! |

GOOD DAY SUNSHINE!
Not cheats! No cheats! That's going to be my motto for the weekend!
I am doing well so far, trying to stay away from the good fats! Boohoo!!! I miss them, but until I get my cholesterol down, that will be okay! I'm really sad to hear that Harvey Korman died!! I really loved his comedic acting!! He was very funny and knew how to deliver!! Anyway, I'm feeling sleepy again! I think I'm going to be losing. I did lose another lb. I'm back at 204. . .again!!! I guess the way I'm eating is helping me. I have been getting in some almonds and walnuts also, to help bring my C down! I was thinking about trying the Cheerios plan. But can you imagine the weight I would gain!! I do love cherrios though!! LOL Here's my menu: B-egg bake S- walnuts, almonds L- maybe nothing, but may be tuna D- preferably fish, I need to buy some S- sf jello Water Ex. 1 mile elliptical=25 min Talk to you all later!! Love Ya Ladies!! |

Hi Jen!
It's eating Cheerios for 2 weeks to get your cholesterol down. They have commercials for it. I was just joking about that. No way could I do that, haha!! |

Diana~I always love your attitude. You will do well over the weekend because you have made up your mind to do so.
Your plan to lower your cholesterol sounds good. Good fats and leaner meats can only benefit your health. The Cheerio Diet?:star: I think I'd die. ![]() Have a great day. ![]() |

Yeah!!! I"m ready for my weekend! Bring it on!!!!
For lunch I had 2 wraps with turkey, avocado and spring mix lettuce. The wraps are at 3 c each. I was pretty hungry. ![]() OH and TJ Maxx sells this brand of sf syrup with Splenda, it's called Artisan. It's a big bottle like Davinci's but cheaper. It's 4.99! They have different flavors and coffees to match the syrup! I bought a tiramisu syrup and coffee. I couldn't wait to try it. It was really good!!! I'm using that Silk, soy milk for my coffee now. It's low in fat and carbs. I think I may have to make some flaxseed muffins too! I need the flax to help lower my cholesterol, or I can buy the oil. I was just going to make small muffins. I'm also going to have one glass of red wine. Maybe!! Hi Sue! Thanks!! I hope everything works out well for you! I'm going to be believing that Lord will work this out for His good according to His plan and purpose for you life!! Hi Deb, I am ready too!! Thanks for the motivation, you've got tons of it!! Hi Jen, It's good to see you in the game! You're going to meet your challenge soon!!! Have a great Friday Ladies!!! ![]() |

Good Morning Everyone!
I've got a lot of running around to do today, so starting out here early! I did well with my eating yesterday. I'm still at 204, that's good, but I had a few pork rinds and I think I'm retaining some water even though I drank alot! So no more of them. Today, I don't know what I'm going to eat. I still have some left overs and really need to get rid of them. So I'll see what I come up with. I notice that I've been having some stomach issues, like soft stools and a little cramping. I never get that for no reason, so this is unsual. I'm trying to think what I've eaten to start this. I wonder if it's the nuts, since that is something I've added recently. Anyway, I'm going to finally buy some fish to eat. At least eat it 2 times a week. That's what the American heart Assoc says, so that's what I'm going to do!! Here's my menu: B-coffee, Atkins shake L- tuna w/ salad S-nuts or something D- fish w/broccoli, finally. Didnt have it yesterday Oh, yesterday I cooked me some tofu that had a cajun seasoning. It was okay, had a kick to it, but still bland. I ate about 1 piece of it and a salad. I think that upset my stomach yesterday. Okay, I hope everyone has a wonderful day!! TTYL!! Love ya! |

Hello!
I'm getting a late start here! Had some running around this morning and just got back. I did good with my eating, just couldn't stay away from the lc ice cream! My only weakness!!! I suffered for it though! I got bad cramps and soft bms! I don't get how before I ate it and nothing happened, now I eat it and this happens. I tell ya, I can't get enough of LindaSue's Almond Thin cracker!! I absolutely love them!!! They remind me of those Wheat Thins. Yum!! Wt: 204 So here's my menu: B- coffee w/lf h&h, sf syrup, egg bake (made w/ zucchini, y. squash, mushrooms, diced turnips. Oh so good!!) small spring salad w/olive oil/vinegar S/L-Almond thins, 2 lf string cheeses S- Atkins shake. nuts D- chicken strips, salad w/olive oil vinegar Water Ex. elliptica-1 mile/25 minutes I hope to get down this week to 200. Then next week, hopefully under 200. Have a great day, off visiting!!! Love ya! Last edited by Determinedtolose : 06-02-2008 at 11:39 AM. |

I bought some this weekend because it was on sale. Don't know how I'm going to stay out of it now. Well, the kids love it, so I'm sure they'll be helping me get rid of it. that you'll get down to 200 this week. Your menu looks great. |
