I'm BACK!!! I missed my lowcarb family/friends.

198 and holding

It has been crazy; nothing bad (everything good) but nonetheless CRAZY!! Monday I actually weighed in at 200 but as of yesterday (today also) I'm back in the snuggles of 198; never mind the fact that last Monday I was 196. Through all of the holiday parties, meetings, full-time job, son's games, oldest son's transferring colleges, and everything else that goes along with being a mother and a WOMAN, I've been eating on plan for the most part. I'm still shaking it out! I am enjoying my treadmill and so is that junk in the trunk daughter of mine. One day last week I was literally binging. I was not depressed, nor did I have any other crazy emotions going on but I was just eating to be eating and then............................................. I got sick. My stomach was like "what in the ham sandwich are you doing to me?" My Christmas goal was 180 and 170 on or before my birthday (Feb. 26). I say WAS when I should be saying IS because I am still striving for those numbers. Hopefully things will eventually slow down and I can really concentrate on my weight more especially since I took my son off of the team (dropping grades) and the holiday "socializing" will be ending. I am soooo tired of smiling, greeting and nibbling. It used to be smiling, greeting and eating but I have been drinking a shake before or on the way to the parties so that when I get there, I'm FULL!! That has been one of the best choices I have made this season during my weight loss journey.

I have got to make another personal challenge for next week. I haven't decided but I will be thinking about it today. I'm swaying more towards 5 lbs for the week (beginning today). We'll see.

Today 11/13/2007; 198lbs
B: protein shake
S: 1 egg 2 strips of bacon
L: protein shake
S: 2 mozarella cheese strings
D: ????????????

Thanks for the PMs and phone calls. It really meant alot to me.

Lulu Belle,
My treadmill is in my den along with my glider. I am going to move my bike out of my room also and place that in the den as well. My son is going to have a baby because he has it set up as his studio/theater room but it shouldn't matter because his recreation time is at an all time halt until......until.....until.....!!

Deb,
Thanks for keeping the cobwebs out. That's one hell of a broom you use! I missed you too!! I'm coming to your house next.

mstamika,
I'm fine. Thanks for the prayers; please continue to pray. I still need them. I don't ever want to get to the place where I feel I don't need them.

Nkechi,
You said a mouth full!!

Yippee, she's back

Glad to see you have been moving right along with things. Definitely a great strategy to drink shakes before parties with tempting foods *taking a note of that*

Sounds like you have a gym forming in the basement there I look forward to cheering you on as you reach towards your goal of 170 by Feb. KUTGW! And you definitely stay in my prayers.

Hope you are having a great day today!!!

You should easily hit 170 by your birthday and the 180 goal is not out of sight yet either. Work at it and it will happen.

BACK!

You have been missed, my friend!

Looks like you have a great strategy in place, and we are going to get you to that goal in no time flat! Your eating is right on track, and in a couple of weeks, these holiday temptations will be behind us. (Not part of our behinds!) (I keep thinking about that commercial with the people walking down the street with cinnamon buns for "rear ends"!)

Love you! Don't stay away so long!

Good morning ladies.

I'm off from the hospital today (but I'm still on call) and I'm going to do a "little" shopping but before I do that I needed to come by the office and most importantly I had to check on my "fam" here. Once I'm finished here I am going to go pick up a few snacks to carry to the malls and outlet with me because I can already taste the cinnabuns and the soft pretzels with honey mustard sauce. Therefore, I am going to have to definitely buy a bag of pepperoni bites for the wanting of something salty and I don't know quite yet what I'll get for that sweet taste. Other than that I WILL be eating on track!!! This morning was the first morning I did not get on my treadmill before leaving the house and that was only because I had to meet a tenant at the office early (DARN HER!!). I do not want to start missing my morning date with PRO (my treadmill) because then it will become easy to say, "I won't walk you this morning, I'll catch you tonight." And we all know what will happen then, I will get tied up at night and miss my date with Pro and then something else will tie me up in the moprning causing me to miss it then as well. So without fail, I will be smooching with PRO as soon as I get home this evening ().

mstamika,
Yes, the shakes before a function or dinner out has proven to be a success. I have my powder with me now and after I leave the office I will stop at McDonald's and buy a small container of milk and mix (shake) my powder and then head to the mall. That will carry me well into lunch and then I will only eat a small lunch (salad and meat or veggies and meat). Thanks for the prayers and I'm looking forward to 170 in Febuary!!!

Nkechi,
170 here I come. I will be "working it" for it to happen.
Thanks for the motivation.

Deb,
I love that cinna"butt" commercial also. The other commercial I like is the one where someone is ordering their food at a drive-thru and they are ordering thunder thighs, an extra order of cellulite hold the flab heavy on the big butt. That is a hilarious commercial and that's exactly what we order when we are at those fast food restaurants. I will not be staying away like that anymore. Although I was busy, I stayed on track and I must admit, I was still lurking and "peeking" on board but there was definitley a difference; there was a lack of motivation and inspiration.

Later!!

OK this plateau at 198 is getting on my last nerve!! I have got to kick it up a notch. I did well all weekend up until yesterday evening. I don't understand why but I did. I mean I even did well while in the mall so why in the ham sandwich did I mess up and for all things.............BURGER KING!?!? 1/2 of a whopper and an order of onion rings. I sold my goal soul for a lousy 1/2 whopper and an order of onion rings. I have to laugh to keep from crying. No excuses, I should not have done it. I was not sad, depressed or anything of the sort. I ordered my children's food and should have just ordered a salad but no..............I sold my goal soul for bread and onion rings.

Hello there.

Darn that tempting Burger King. It's good that you didn't beat yourself up. It's counter productive.

You will break through 198 as soon as you get on a regimin that works.

Take care today

Yes plateaus do suck! OK, I'm feeling this dropping all of a sudden. I can get with that. That will make up for all of the waiting and waiting and more waiting. I can really get with that. So I'm holding you to that Lulu Belle . And yes WE are determined to lose this weight. Right Lulu Belle?

Mstamika
You've said a mouth full. I think I've found that place, I just have to stick with it.

Small deviations.
On yesterday (12/17/2007) when I went home I ate the sirloin steak but did not eat the broccolli; however, I did eat a low carb pizza (low carb wheat tortilla, spaghetti sauce, pepperoni, mexican 3-cheese and sprinkled some parmesean cheese on top) and it was good.

Today (12/18/2007)
B: Figure 8 Protein Shake
S: 1 scrambled egg and 2 link sausages & 4 butterfinger chocolate bells
L: Leftover steak (w/steak sauce) and a tossed salad
S: Nuts (pistachios) and 1 Figure 8 chew
D: Turkey burger without the bread (lettuce, tomatoes, pickle)

The dinner deviation for dinner is because I did not cook (grill) the cabbage on last night and that takes a loooong time to cook.

Water: I've only drank 20oz of water so far.
Exercise: I did 45 minutes on the treadmill this morning; more tonight!

Eat your veggies! (You subbed pizza for your broccoli?!!? ) Add some to your dinner tonight! It might just help counteract the Butterfinger Beast's results!

Great recovery from that sneaky King. Things could have been much worse. You are on the right track!

You know I kid you cause I love you!

Deb,
I PROMISE, I will eat veggies tonight. As a matter of fact besides the lettuce and tomatoes I'll eat with the turkey burger, I will eat broccolli also. I should have also eaten the broccolli with my pizza. I cooked corn for the kids and did not want to eat any of that but I should have definitely eaten the broccolli. I think I am going to set my treadmill to burn the calories of the Butterfinger Beast (210). You can kid with me anytime but I also NEED you to keep me on the right track!!

CalorieKing.com has this great tool where you can see how much working out you have to do to burn the food you ate. You should check it out.

I used it to make an appropriate punishment for overeating one time.

Thanks a million. I am definitely going got use that tool so that I can burn what needs to be burn after "indulging". The funny thing about that is that is that if I was to use that as punishment for overeating, I would be working myself to death; now that's definitely punishment!!! Thanks girlie!! You are on time with that one.

197....Only down one pound

Good morning everyone. Thanks for stopping in at my place.

Went to the nutrionist on Wednesday and I only lost one pound....Down to 197 pounds. OK, I'm not one to tell it all (my mother would die if she knew I was talking about TOM) but I only have a visitior every now and then but I had a visitor this month so I may have actually lost more than that but with that unwanted visitor , it's hard to tell. But anyway, thank God for the one pound lost. And although I messed up yesterday I weighed in at 197 again this morning.

Yesterday 197
B: Figure 8 protein shake (Cinnamon Yogurt Shake)
S: 1 scrambled egg & 2 link sausages
L: 1 cheeseburger with no bun & an order of onion rings
D: Turkey sausage wrapped in a low carb tortilla with onions and green bell peppers & french fries seasoned with Lawry's seasoned salt & 2 Mountain Dew sodas (NO, they were NOT Diet Sodas)
AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL eating evening.

Oh, the funny part is I went to bed and when I finally woke up after over-eating, I went on the treadmill for 1 hour.

Went to a Christmas Dinner on Wednesday night and did considerably well. I even drank a diet soda.

CONGRATULATIONS on your pound loss Celebrating every victory is a must! A pound is a pound!

Great job on your treadmill recovery after overeating and your better choices at the Christmas party. Those type of setting can be treacherous.

As far as TOM It just left my house and I'm SO GLAD it's gone. GOOD BYE!

Thanks girlie. It has gotten so much easier. I know it's hard to tell by my "over-indulging" at times but I must admit it has gotten easier. I'm ready for Christmas; bring it on. I am planning to eat on track, regardless. I'm still keeping 180 in sight for February 26, 2008 and it's right around the corner. That means me and Mr. Pro (treadmill) will be having some passionate mornings and nights ahead and my eating will have to be on point!!!

Yes, I am finally at 195; my goal for Christmas was 190 and although I did not make it to 190, I have gotten closer to it than I was last week, or even yesterday.

12/22/2007 196
B: Figure 8 Protein Shake
L: Low carb tortilla with Smoked Turkey Sausage, onions and green bell peppers
S: cup of coffee with french vanilla cream & 4 chocolate reese's peanut butter bells and if that wasn't enough, I had 10 M&M's (co-worker's bag)
D: Nothing; I was not hungry. I thought about fixing a protein shake but once I got off of the treadmill, I decided to call it a night.

Before I got on the treadmill, I fixed Beth's peanut butter cups. I did not eat any on last night but I did lick the bowl after stirring it and placing them in the muffin pan . Yummy. I can't wait to eat them today. I brought 3 with me to work today; 2 for my snack and one for my co-worker to taste.

12/23/2007
B: Figure 8 Protein shake
S: Beth's peanut butter cup
L: Low carb tortilla with leftover steak, yellow peppers, onions and salsa

Thanks Nkechi. It's a journey but I've got on my hiking boots. If I can just make that 5 a 0, I'll know I'm on my way.

The butter cups are GREAT!!!! I've eaten them both (at different times of course).

I was assigned desserts for my family's Christmas dinner but asked to bring appetizers instead. So I am looking for appetizers that will suit me more than my family .

Glad it's over!

Christmas was great but Lord am I glad it's over!! Glad it came and even happier it's left! It's so commercialized; the real meaning has been voided. Ok enough of what I can't do anything about and on to what I CAN control.

12/25/2007 195
B: Figure 8 Protein Shake
S: 3 cilantro ham wraps
D: 1/2 cup of collard greens , 1/2 slice of ham , 2Tbsp of white rice, 1 Tbsp stuffing, 2Tbsp macaronni, 1/2 cup of candied yams

What's funny about the dinner was that I had the nerve to measure everything!! WRONG is WRONG; no matter how you measure it!!!

AWFUL!! AWFUL!! AWFUL!! I should have done better with my eating!:

After I ate I felt like crap! I felt overstuffed and uncomfortable.
First of all, when I ate, I was not hungry. I ate just because..............it was dinner? I have no idea why I ate when I ate or even why I ate what I ate. Anyway, wasted carb numbers. They could have been very well saved for another time; like when I was actually hungry.

12/26/2007 195 (through all of yesterday, I'm still 195)
B: 1 scrambled egg & 2 link sausages (was not really hungry)
S: pepperoni (It's snack time now and I'm not hungry)
L: ???? (Needs to be a shake; because I probably won't be hungry)
D: ?????

Have a date with Pro (treadmill) tonight. I love that "thing-man" . Tonight will be a quickie (only 30 minutes).

2 more parties and 1 concert before 2008 rolls in and I will be able to finally breathe; temptation will come to a screeching halt!!!
