Oh Happy Day!
I only have a sec, since I have to get ready for the dreaded "James Bond" party in a few minutes.
Anyway, I was trying on clothes for my "Bond Girl" costume, and I tried on a party dress from my pre-baby days, and IT FITS! (Although it's a bit tight around my upper arms.) So, feeling jazzed and confident, I decided to hop on the scale. (even though I shouldn't do my weigh in until Monday...) Drum roll please.....178 I am finally out of the 180's! I pray that this sticks, and won't change my sig til Monday! When I am all dressed, I'll see if I can get DH to take a pic!

We had such a great time at the party, and I was so happy with my numbers, that I stayed on plan ALL NIGHT! There was a HUGE buffet with everything you could imagine. Potatoes, rice, lasagna, and a seperate enormous dessert buffet. As you can see by my menu, I didn't touch any of it! Not to mention the amazing looking martinis. (The apple and chocolate look soooo good!) I didn't even have a diet soda!!!!!
Saturday's Menu Breakfast: 1 egg with chicken chorizo small whole wheat lc tortilla (6) water Lunch: handful of almonds (3) water Dinner: (at party) 3 grilled chicken tenders - naked! w/feta dip (2) 5 raw broccoli flowerettes lightly dipped in ranch (3) 3 cherry tomatos (2) 2 small cubes cheese (1) water, water, water! TOTAL CARBS: 17 WATER: Great EXCERCISE: Sucking my stomach in for 5+ hours in my evening dress! Boy am I sore today! LOL Goal for this week: Eat clean, add extra raw fresh veggies and whole foods. I hope this payed off, and I stay under 180 tomorrow on the scale! Tamika, Beth and Tamekia - Thanks for the encouragement! This is working because of you! ![]() Janice and Leashy - Thanks so much for dropping in! I'll be visiting you soon! ![]() Last edited by Debralynn : 09-30-2007 at 11:40 AM. |

Before and During Pics (I guess it's time!)
UGH. I've been dreading this.
![]() May '07 at 222 ![]() Yesterday at 178 OK, so it's not the greatest photo, but you get the idea. (I'm the shorty in the black dress!) Oddly enough, I don't see a huge difference yet. ![]() |

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! I can see those curves from a mile away sexy lady!
You looked fabulous in that dress! I can see a huge difference. There is so much definition under "the girls". Your hips are more narrow. And there is no more chin! I can even see it in your arms! Shall I go on??? You have lost almost 45 pounds dear!! That is a huge accomplishment. Thank you for posting these pictures. I would advise you to be even braver and post them in the ML. You will be amazed at what others have to say about your loss!!!

OK, I am claiming the 178 as of today! It's official!
![]() Sunday's Menu Breakfast: carb control yogurt w/flax (3) water Lunch: 2 chicken breasts couple of bites of salad (2) couple of bites fried cabbage (2) (tummy trouble!) tea w/lemon (1) water Snack: 1/2 cup raw broccoli w/bc dip (4) water Dinner: Homemade LC wrap made with Low carb whole wheat tortilla (5) 3 slices roasted turkey 2 thin slices swiss (1) broccoli slaw (3) Homemade LC thousand island dressing (1) water TOTAL CARBS: 22 WATER: good EXCERCISE: 30 min treadmill Thanks for your kind words Beth and Janice! I guess getting over the mindset of being big for so long is going to take some time. My Mom even made a comment about it to me (not trying to be mean) on Friday. She mentioned that even though I lost weight, it is hard to really tell because I still dress larger than my size. (Part of it is that I just don't want to spend money on new clothes that will hopefully be too big before too long!) Maybe it's time to invest in a new pair of jeans. ![]() |

Great job holding 178! I knew you could do it!
Well, the weather will dictate you buying new clothes soon. I think getting a good fitting pair of jeans is a good reward for losing 45 pounds! Do it!! I have NO clothes to move into this fall/winter. Last season I weighed 175! Although it will be hard to buy all new stuff financially what can DH say??? He will have to buy clothes too! Just think about next year this time for you! Want it be fabulous?!! ![]() I haven't gotten too much into the wrap thing. I would buy some and then be afraid to really try them. I think I had one one time and gained the next day so I never ate them again. It is good to see that you can handle them. |

Deb, Thank you for sharing your photos. You look great darlin.
Getting clothes that fit you will definitely make you feel better because when you look in the mirror you will be able to see the slimmer woman that has emerged. Also if you are serious about working out I would stop considering T-Tap and go for it. ![]() I have an appointment to get measured tomorrow because the fitness test/measuring room was in use by the time I got to the gym. So as soon as I get back from the gym tomorrow I’ll share it with you. TOM is here so I’m not sure how much that will affect the numbers but we shall see. You are doing wonderfully Deb keep up the good work! ![]() |

Minor Subtractions
Hello Deb,
Hope you are having a great day! I posted the numbers in my journal. Not sure what to make of them except to say that I'm going to measure 3 more weeks in a row and see what I can do get those numbers looking better. ![]() |

Where soes the time go?
I thought life would calm down this week, and I am finding it to be even more challenging than last week!
Between 2 big work projects, and having playgroup at our house today, I am beat, and haven't had a second to get on fitday or the boards. The rest of the week is going to be crazy as well. Mom and Dad are coming over tomorrow morning before DS has to go to school, and I haven't managed to clean up after the playdate yet. I have a huge deadline to meet for work, and we are supposed to be leaving town to go up north for the weekend on Friday afternoon. The laundry is mounting, and I HAVE to get it done so I can pack for the whole family. ![]() Needless to day, I am sorry I haven't been here! I have been staying on plan, but my menus are REALLY bad. I need to prepare better and take better care of myself! Monday's Menu Breakfast: 2 chicken chorizo egg "muffins" (4) water Lunch: 2 slices turkey, 1 slice pepper jack (1) broccoli slaw w/dressing (4) Dinner: very small piece of tilapia w/ lemon and butter (1) raw broccoli (3) Dessert: Carb control yogurt (3) TOTAL CARBS: 16 WATER: Very good EXCERCISE: 20 min excercise tape (crunches, "push-up", arms, legs) Tuesday's Menu Breakfast: Atkins Advantage Shake (2) Lunch: cup of coffee w/heavy cream and Davinci (during playgroup) (1) Snack: handful of almonds (3) a few pieces of pepperoni (1) Dinner: 1/4 cup of Dreamfields penne (2) sf tomato sauce (3) 1/2 chicken italian sausage (2) raw spinach w/evoo and vinegar (3) I made myself more of the dreamfields, but was afraid to eat it. ![]() TOTAL CARBS: 17 WATER: Very good EXCERCISE: PLAYGROUP WITH SEVERAL TODDLERS! ![]() MsTamika: I am SO going for the T-Tapp! Thanks for the input! I have been doing a couple of the excercises from her site for the last week or so, and I can feel the difference! THANK YOU! Beth: As you can see above, I have the same fear about the pasta as you do about the wraps! I did manage to find a brand with whole grain and ingredients that I trust, and I try to not have more than 3 per week. I know that they are one of the things that keep me from going off plan, so I figure them as the lesser of the evils! Yes, lets look ahead to this time next year! Won't we all look and feel great! I figured that I needed new bras more than anything else, so I got 2 yesterday. What a difference, now that they fit. My clothes look better and I feel better! (It's a step in the right direction! )Everyone have a great day, and I will sign back on when I can. Most likely late tomorrow night! |

I'm confused... although that's not unusual
Deb,
It's so funny when you say your menus have not been the best then I read them looking for the bad stuff you're talking about and I'm like where is the not so good menu Can you help me understand why you think it is not good? You are 99.9% usually under carb count and you are doing good with water... what am I missing? As far as T-Tapp I am really diggin it and I'm glad you are going for it. I would love to have someone to do bootcamp with I did Instructional Tape #2 this morning again and I am going to try really hard to squeeze it in in the morning.I look forward to seeing the numbers next week also. I'm really hoping to improve my form so I can improve my numbers. Take care over there Wonder Woman and don't forget to put on your magic lasso before you leave the house.. man I was tired just reading about your schedule! You are so wonderful Deb and I am really proud of you ![]() |

Sorry your days have been so crazy lately. I think you are doing great in spite of all the running around. I don't think your menus have been bad at all. Are you thinking that they are so bad because you are so low on carbs for the day? You are drinking your water and getting some exercise in. You are doing great! Not every day is going to be a meal of perfect proportions or labeled really healthy. Some days you just have to grab what you have around.
I tell you bras make All the difference! Glad "the girls" have a new home! ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() Which end is up? We are leaving this afternoon for our long weekend up north, and I am not even done packing! The kids are running wild, the house is a mess, DH is stuck at the office. Then, to top it all off, DS#1 had a little "accident" yesterday and knocked a front tooth loose. We are waiting to see if it falls out or turns a color. If he loses it, his adult one won't be in for about 3 more years. What timing.I want to do a quick catch up and take a breather before loading the van. Wednesday's Menu Breakfast: 2 poached eggs w/ 1 sl canadian bacon and 1 sl reg bacon (4) coffee w/half n half and .5 splenda (2) water Lunch: almonds and water (5) Dinner: 1 piece of chicken w/green salad and raw broccoli (4) Dessert: cream cheese muffin (2) TOTAL CARBS: 17 WATER: Good EXCERCISE: just some sit ups Thursday's Menu Breakfast: Atkins Advantage Shake (2) water Lunch: 3 slices roast beef, lettuce, tomato, mayo (3) almonds (4) water Snack: RS sf breakfast bar (2) Water Dinner: (In n out) Protein style cheeseburger, no sauce, no onion (4) Diet coke (stress made me give in. At least it was a small, no refills!)TOTAL CARBS: 15 WATER: good EXCERCISE: OK, lots of running around at DS soccer class OK. I'm off. I know that my carbs are low, but I am kind of gearing up for being out of town for a while and having to eat out. I am hoping not to gain too much while away from hidden carbs and such. I also packed some of the bars I have for when there is no decent alternative. We are going to be pretty active this weekend (hiking, etc.) so hopefully things will even out! Wish me luck. Oh, and when I complain about my menus, it's more over quality of the food and choices I make. I am really shooting for high quality, whole natural foods, and I haven't been doing as well as I like. Seems like I have the carbs under control, now I really need to focus on calories and nutrition. Everybody have a great weekend, and I'll catch up with you all when I get back! |
