I got confused at first when I read "Today's menu" then I realized you posted it at 2:05 am.
Hope you were able to get up this morning and get that exercise in today! You are doing so well with your food choices that if you start exercising the weight is going to start falling off of you! What a nice surprise for your mom to come visit! We girls always need a little mom time every now and then. I can't believe we ate at the same place yesterday and had the same thing (minus the ribs for me)! That is so funny! Don't follow my lead with having to get on the scales every day. Keep weighing once a week! You see where that habit has gotten me. Have a fabulous weekend!

Today was a pretty successful day. I was really active today as well.
Oh, and I am so excited! I found Davinci syrups at my Super Walmart tonight! I was planning on ordering them on-line, but this worked out great. They were much cheaper than I had seen them for on-line ($5.28 for large and $3.28 for small), and they only had a few flavors. I purchased the vanilla, raspberry and caramel. I was already planning on making cream cheese muffins tomorrow, so this should be fun. Oh the possibilities! I did pretty well with my food choices today, and was very active, so I am hoping for a nice drop come Monday. We shall see. Friday's Menu Breakfast: Dannon carb control yogurt (4) Water Lunch: The other half of yesterdays Greek Salad w/Gyro meat (5) Small handful grape tomatos (4) Water Dinner: Wendy's: Jr double cheeseburger deluxe (no bun or ketchup) (2) Diet Coke Snack: Blue Bunny black raspberry ice cream bar (1, but count as 5 for SA) (I know, the sugar alcohols, but I rarely have one of these. I have been working on the same box since the end of June. They are so refreshing in this 109 degree heat!) TOTAL CARBS: 20 including sugar alcohols WATER: 64 oz EXCERCISE: 2 mile walk @ 3 mph! 100 ab crunches. I'm back on the right track! DS is doing so well in his new class. I am so happy that we made the decision to move! This should be a very active weekend for us. We have a b-day party at one of those "inflatable party zones" to attend, which means I'll be in there jumping with my little one, and climbing to rescue my big one when he get frightened. They are always quite a workout for me (while DH stands and watches )We also have plans to go swimming with the kids, and loads of big projects around the house to tackle. I am looking forward to it. ![]() Beth- I wasn't up until 2, it was 11:00 PM my time! (Thank goodness!!!) I guess great minds think/eat alike! I love Texas Roadhouse, it is the easiest place for me to eat (as long as I stay away from those rolls!), so I was tickled when my Mom wanted to go there. (The kids have such fun eating the peanuts and tossing the shells!) Try to have a relaxing, peaceful weekend! Jen- You poor baby . Saying a prayer for you so that you can get some rest. I pray you can catch up on your sleep this weekend and start the new week refreshed. ![]()

I'm Back!
Such insanity this weekend! The internet connection was down in our area for over a day. I realize how dependent I have become on Fitday, and how hard it is to remember everything days later! Back to the grindstone!
Let's see here, Saturday Breakfast: 2 eggs, 4 slice bacon, lc whole wheat tortilla (7) Lunch: Small green salad topped with avocado, tomato and ranch (6) Dinner: Chicken w/poblano peppers, onions, sour cream, shredded cheese and salsa (9) (ate way too many peppers and onions )TOTAL CARBS: 23 WATER: poor, probably about 1 liter EXCERCISE: Lot's! Wow was I pooped! Jumping and climbing for 1+ hrs Even though my water was down, and I consumed too much diet soda, I count this day as a success. I made it through the party without eating the amazing food and homemade cupcakes available, and I did all of the bounce houses and giant slides with my kids. This was great for 3 reasons, first, I was really active for over an hour, and second, the last time we went to one of those places back in May, I could barely climb into one of them, much less jump for an hour! Lastly, it was such a fun experience to do it with the kids. Really makes all of this work worthwhile.************************************************** ******** Sunday Breakfast: carb control yogurt (4) Lunch: 3 scrambled eggs, 2 slices taylor ham, iced tea w/lemon (6) Dinner: Leftover roast chicken, lc whole wheat tortilla, .5 cup broccoli (7) Dessert: .5 cup LC ice cream (5) TOTAL CARBS: 22 EXCERCISE: 40 min walk WATER: 2 liter Had lunch with best friend and her mom. Strange experience. (Her Mom is a very critical person.) While eating, a woman walked past our table. She was overweight with a very defined "pear" shape. Of course, after she passed, friends Mom HAD to say something. She mentioned the "unfortunate" shape, and then proceeded to tell me, "Now Deb, aren't you glad that you took off all that weight. That could have been you in a few years." I know that is her backhanded way of paying me a compliment, but how awful. I really can't stand when anyone makes a comment about anybody's weight. (I'll stop here, you can refer to any of my rants on other threads on the board.) She also made a comment later in the day about how great I'll look when I loose my belly "pooch". Ugh. That isn't going anywhere unless it is surgically removed. It's pretty much just a deflated bag of skin where I carried both 10 pound babies. ************************************************** ******** Monday Breakfast: Atkins chocolate royale shake (1) Lunch: Diet Dr Pepper and about 10 Almonds (10) out at pool Snack: 1/4 cup zucchini slices (4) Dinner: Salad topped w/grilled chicken, jicama, celery, mushrooms and too much blue cheese dressing (8) TOTAL CARBS: 23 WATER: 2.5 liter EXCERCISE: Swimming with kids, approx 2 hours WEIGHT: 183 One more pound and I will have lost 40! I will not weigh in until next Monday. I think I am going to give up my yogurts and tortillas for a couple of days, to see if I can accelerate things a bit. (I did have a tortilla this morning, but I am going to try not to have one again until after weigh-in.) Hi Beth, Jen, Jaimie and MsTameka! I'll stop by and catch up on all of your journals a little later today. Have to tend to the little ones now! ![]() |

Deb, oh my god, 40 pounds, that is amazing. You should be so proud of yourself. I am so proud of you! Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!
![]() Blah, sorry about your friends mom, some people just don't know how to ever say anything nice. I just kind of look at it as sad for them instead of getting frustrated...I mean how sad to be such a grumpy, negative person all the time, what a sad, sad life.... ![]() That is really cool about being able to jump with your kids - what a cool little reward and boost to your motivation. How special for your kids to have their mom there playing and laughing and goofing around with them. Wow! Just cool! Keep it up girl - you are kickin ***! ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() I'm doing the 40 pound dance for you girl! That is fantastic. You are about to catch up with me! Hooray!I totally know what you mean about negative people. I have a few in my life. One person in particular seems to have a problem with all heavy people. She embarrasses me sometimes with her comments to others. Of course, she had her comments when DH and I were heavy. Made me feel so bad. I have since shut her up about it! ![]() |

I only have a few minutes, but I need to put in yesterday's menu.
Tuesday Breakfast: 2 slices ls ham, 1 slice swiss, chive cream cheese, rolled in lc whole wheat tortilla (5) Water Lunch: 3 chicken nuggets (half heartedly tried to pick off breading) (8)Diet Coke Dinner: Green salad w/hb egg and tomato, bc dressing (6) sirloin steak (8 oz) Water Diet coke TOTAL CARBS: 19 EXCERCISE: walk 30 min WATER: 1.5 liter? Lost track Starting my "no bars, yogurt or tortilla" week today. I have to admit that they are crutches for me, so it will be hard. I am sure I can do it (after re-reading Beth's "comfort" post again and again!) Thank you so much for the encouragement Beth and Jen! Don't dance for me yet, still a pound to go! xoxoxoxoxo |

You can do it! That 40 pound lost is going to feel much better than any tortilla/bar taste. I know when I cut out eating the bars every day my weight started coming off faster. Add that to the tortillas and I think you are bound to start dropping faster! You just need to find you some new recipes that you like to distract you from eating the
"sandwiches". If you need something chocolate, try my PMS chocolate treats. "PMS" Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups 1 oz. unsweetened chocolate 1 stick butter 8 splenda pks. 4 T peanut butter (I like the crunchy) Melt all ingredients together slowly until smooth. Spoon into muffin cups lined with paper or alum. cups (alum. work better). Put into the freezer for 1 hour. Makes 12 cups with 2.2 carbs per cup.. |

Today was good. DS #1 had chapel at school today, and sang the songs he learned the whole way home in the van. Such a joy, considering that last week, he wouldn't even discuss the days events with me after school. Now, he shares everything again. I love to hear him sing with that squeaky little 4 year old voice.
![]() Menu was good today. Stayed true to my word. I really should have added a salad in there, but was too lazy. I will do better with it tomorrow. Wednesday Breakfast: Atkins Advantage Shake, Chocolate Royale (2) Lunch: 4 slices roast beef, 2 slices cheese (2) celery sticks and grape tomatoes (3) Dinner: Yummy concoction I whipped together while family had pasta and meatballs: Shredded chicken breast w/green chilis, garlic, cream cheese, and cheddar (3) celery sticks and tomatoes w/salsa (6) Snack: Home made raspberry cream cheese muffin (2) TOTAL CARBS: 18 EXCERCISE: 30 min treadmill - need to do better, at least 45 tomorrow WATER: LOADS - really dehydrated today. Beth - I am SO making those peanut butter cups! I have to go to the grocery to get the unsweetened chocolate. You always have the best ideas! The cream cheese muffins certainly helped me today, and the Raspberry DaVinci's really made them divine! Jen - Let me know if you make 'em, so we can make sure to practice portion control together! ![]() I have an awful headache, so I am going to call it a night and try to get some rest. Long day tomorrow! G'night All! |

Oh, you gave me so many good ideas today from your menu!
The best recipes come when you are hungry and start creating. I could almost taste that chicken. Let me know if you like the candies. They are so good to have in the freezer when those cravings come. You won't believe how just a couple will satisfy your craving! I would love to have your cream cheese muffin recipe. I have some raspberry syrup! I think you did wonderful today ...got your exercise in and your water. Don't beat yourself up for that at all! |

Deb, that chicken does sound good. I think I will have to try that. I wrote down Beth's PB cups for emergencies and would love to have that cream cheese muffin recipie too, if you get the chance.
I won't make either one though until I think I am going to eat my arm off or something, becasue they sound too good to have around all the time. I will eat too many ![]() Keep up the good work! I am so inspired by you and your hard work and loss so far! ![]() |

OK Ladies, I just made some of my PMS chocolate treats
....added crushed natural almonds to them....OMG, they are fabulous!!! Remember when you make them to only used unsalted real butter. They will be on the salty side if you don't! Just took another bite....don't you WISH you were at my house right now!! OK, I'm being bad. ![]() |

OK Beth, you asked for it, I changed my Avatar! It's a from over a year ago, at my top weight. I really need to get the pix off the camera from DS B-day and put up a current one with lower weight. (I put a couple up in the gallery as well) You are lucky I live so far away, or I might raid your freezer!
![]() Hi Jen and Jaimie! Same goes for you guys, I love reading your menus! Still have to get to the grocery (kids are napping) to get my chocolate! (I am responsible for preschool snack tomorrow, too. Gotta pick up those Nilla Wafers and juice as well!) Going to make that tonight after everyone goes to bed. The cream cheese muffins are super easy: 1 package cream cheese (block style is best) 8 oz 1 egg 1/4 cup splenda or equiv DaVinci (or sweetner of your choice) 1/4 tsp vanilla soften cream cheese about 40 sec in microwave, add in other ingredients and mix until smooth with electric mixer. Line muffin pan with paper or foil muffin cup (foil work best, these are sticky!) Will make 6 regular size, or 12 minis Bake at 350 for about 20 min. Put in fridge after cooling, eat cold They kind of sink in the middle when they cool, but they are super yummy. I used half splenda and half raspberry DaVinci, they came out great. Thery are about 2 grams carb a piece for the large size. Some like to top with s/f jam or whipped cream, but I think they are fine the way they are, and would rather keep the carb count as low as possible. The chicken dish came about because I was craving a particular dish from our fave Mexican restaurant. Instead of taking a chicken burro and topping it with all the cheeses and chilis, I shredded a leftover chicken breast, added 2 tablespoons canned green chili, 2 heaping taplespoons of whipped cream cheese, garlic salt and chili powder. Mixed and microwaved for about a minute. Stirred, then topped with shredded mexican blend cheese. Drizzled a little home made salsa on top. It was just like the restaurants "Pollo con Queso" minus the tortilla! Take care everyone! Talk to y'all later! Last edited by Debralynn : 09-06-2007 at 04:50 PM. |

Oooooh! Awesome, Deb, thanks. I think I am going to try both of those this weekend. I have to go grocery shopping cause I am bare bones right now, so I can pick those ingredients up.
Good lord, between yours and Beth's PB Chocolate cups...I am going to have to work out 6x a day! ![]() And I love the new pic - even if it is an old one - you look beautiful. Thanks Jen! Let me know how yours turn out!
OK, burning the midnight oil again tonight. Got a project from work at 5:30 PM today that needs to be turned in by tomorrow. It's a bummer, because Thursday night is kind of my "personal" time. DH is a drummer (in his spare time, he has a "real job" too!), and he has a regular gig on Thursday nights , so after kids are in bed, I get to do really "selfish" things, like excercise, MAKE BETH'S PB/CHOCOLATE TREAT or take an hour long shower. I really didn't feel like working tonight. ![]() I did, however, get to the store to pick up the unsweetened chocolate and unsalted butter. Just won't have a chance to make them til Mon or Tues. Having a dinner party on Saturday, and will be cooking and cleaning for that, and a play date at our house on Monday. I am exhausted just thinking about it! ![]() Thursdays Menu Breakfast: Atkins Advantage Chocolate Royale Shake (2) water 18 oz Lunch: parmesan crusted chicken (4) celery sticks (2) diet dr pepper Snack: scoop of egg salad (2 hb eggs w/mayo, dijon, dill pickle, s/p) (3) water w/lemon (1) Dinner: small steak w/blue cheese melted on top (1) 5 cherry tomatos w/bc crumbles (5) water Dessert: Raspberry cream cheese muffin (1) TOTAL CARBS: 19 WATER: fair. tomorrow mini goal - no soda EXCERCISE: 30 min walking ketone stick at 8pm: moderate Praying kids don't get sick. There was a little girl at DS sports class this AM with roseola. My little one hasn't had it yet. The sick kid was germing and snotting all over the place, and the mother was laughing about it. Why must some parents drag thier sick kids out in public (particularly in the path of other kids, namely mine.). She is a SAHM, and it wouldn't have killed her to keep them home this week. So good to see a face to all these post! Maybe you can get a new one up soon that you REALLY like. For now....I love it!
Hope all is well with you today. I am really tired of all the hectic days to be honest. I considered just not taking my son to his school today. That wasn't fair to him though so I sucked it up. I agree with you on the sick kids thing. It is cruel to allow your child to infect others for your own convenience!! The child was probably miserable too! Have a great weekend! Thanks for the advice in my journal! |
