Quote of the day...
New Attitude by Patti LaBelle
Quote:
![]() God is good! I remember the days when I would be disappointed at my weight and how hard it is to lose. When I decided to lose weight (for the umpteenth time ) I knew that it was more about my outlook on life because it's all about a lifestyle change. Knowing that you can do it makes all of the difference. This is not easy. If it was then I would have lost it already. My attitude is that I am going to enjoy this day and everyday while striving to make a difference in my life and the lives of everyone around me. After all, it is why I chose my profession. Why not apply a little of that knowledge to myself . |

Thanks girl! For so long we wait around and envy others that do what we know what we want and need to do but we continue on with the same bad habits. If we see others doing it then we know it's doable, right? It is time to start working toward our goals. One day at a time! |

You have some great energy going on in your journal Nkechi. I enjoyed the quotes from the poets and the book. As well as all the positive affirmations from you and your supportive visitors.
I especially like the "NOW!" affirmation. I was over here nodding my head feeling really ignited by those statements. Thank you for sharing that insight form the book. I didn't know Chicken Soup for the ... had a weightloss book but I should have know. I swear there is chicken soup for everything! Why not weightloss ![]() Glad to see your mind in a postive and productive frame.

Why are the weekends so hard??? Try as I might I can not get through a clean induction for anything
. But I know that this to shall pass and I am still maintaining my 5 lb weightloss so I am still rejoicing. Anywho...My weekend was filled with movies (that's all Mr. C wants to do these days) and politics. We had the dems primary this weekend and Obama won by a landslide. Now we will have to see if the country is really ready for an African American president. Mr. C and I had a meeting of the minds with an MSW colleague of mind about economic development in rural communities in SC. Mr. C has now decided to start a political action committee and wanted her input but most of the discussion was about grassroots organizing. I just sat there and ate . Most of what they discussed was stuff I'd already told him but his head is hard and he has to hear things several times before it sticks . He brought up the "M" word again this weekend and I let him ramble on and on about how we would be good together. I didn't even remind him of the fact that we are still "just friends" like I usually do. It's been almost 6 months now so I guess he felt comfortable enough to bring it up. I still think it's too soon. He is a trip. |

Confession Time
![]() I did it again . They had food here at work and I fell for some seafood pasta salad and fried chicken w/regular pepsi . And to top it all I had the audacity to eat a slice of sock it to me cake. Oh well I guess I will have to just shake it off and keep moving forward. I feel lightheaded ... |

I'm dragging today. I don't know if it was the carb overload yesterday or not. It could be that I still haven't adjusted to the new year yet
. I am thinking about taking Friday off to get my head together. I need some me time. My department is over the gym so I have to go to the gym for a couple of hours today because the gym directer is in a class and I am the only one in the office that can do it. I haven't worked out since last year!!! I now have no excuss at all. I probably will walk on the treadmill. Maybe this will get me back in the exercise mood again... As far as WOE. I think I have a new plan. Will be trying to eat every 3 hours. That's 3 full meals and 2 snacks. Trying it out today but will officially start tomorrow as I just decided a few minutes ago . Oh yeah and I guess I will begin exercising again too .I decided to us my blog to post inspirational quotes and the journal for my diet and rants as usual. I need all the motivation I can get so inspiring myself is my first order of business. I haven't blogged since my last mess up .Breakfast: Hamburger quiche and coffee w/french vanilla davinci's and heavy cream Snack: Getting ready to get another cup of coffee (I could this as a snack because I know the heavy cream has the calories that need to be counted. I think I may be addicted to coffee )Lunch: Spinach Salad w/tomatoes, cheese, turkey and mediteranean dressing Snack: Don't know yet... Dinner: Thinking about another salad but not sure yet... |

Nkechi,
I hope you feel better as the day continues. Encourage yourself; you have plenty of inspirational quotes to pull from. I think your new WOE will work for you. I have to eat every 2 hours (literally). It's only been just recently that I have not been hungry enough to do this, but for the most part, I still do so that when I do get hungry, I won't go overboard. I think this WOE may work for you. It's what got me trained. I think it worked for me because I am a "snacker". I even had to add 2 differenct type snacks into my plan because my snack attacks are specific; either salty or sweet. So, try it and see if it's for you. Much success Tamekia

Thanks Tamekia. I think this is going to work too. I have a bad habit of going all day without eating and then grabbing the first thing I see when I finally get a chance to eat. I mean I can go until about 2pm and then be starving and end up making a decision that is not good at all. It is something I am working on though. I will get there soon.

That was definitely my testimony. I would wait and then eat everything in sight. You will overcome this too once you find what works for you. It is definitely a struggle, but try to stick with it. It won't happen overnight. Remember this when it seems like things aren't moving as fast as you think they should be: It takes 21 days to make and break a habit!! You're only on day 1!!!!!

Last night I had a salad with chicken wings then messed up by eating some corn chowder and popped corn (don't ask
). TOM is on the way to town again so my willpower is on hiadis. Right now I am drinking my homemade caramel machiado with SF whipped cream. I was so excited when I found they had it in the can when I was at wallyworld last weekend. Good stuff and could soon develop into my next addiction. Eating some almonds with my coffee. Probably will go home for lunch and fix another spinach and turkey salad. Dinner will be crack slaw. Not really watching carbs right now. Just trying to eat LC! ![]() |

Hello everyone! This past weekend was pretty good. I took Friday off for some ME time and ended up with sinus issues and stayed in all day. Felt better Saturday so I went and got my hair done. Got half of it cut off. Mr. C says that he doesn't want it any shorter than that but I say that if he pays for me to get it done every week then he can have a say so but until then...
Mr. C and I spent Sunday together and talked about our relationship (as usual). We have decided that if all goes well then we can discuss marriage in a about another 6 months or so. That will be a year since we started dating. According to him, since we've already known each other a year so we should start thinking about it now. I say that time doesn't count because we weren't dating then. He is so stubborn sometimes... |
